Robin is such an awsome artist. Barry get's the most attention due to his amazing falsetto. But Robin, he's able to pour his heart and soul into his music, and that comes through. When you'll continue going down the rabbit hole, you'll learn about this yourself. Each Bee Gees has amazing talent and combined it's just magical.

Most of the reaction channels that have gone down the Bee Gees rabbit hole have focused mostly on their post disco-era music -- stuff they released as part of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and after. But honestly, most of us who hold the Bee Gees in such high regard that we hold them up there with the Beatles and Beach Boys as one of the three or four best groups ever will tell you that perhaps their best work was BEFORE the disco era. Check out songs like "Words," "Massachusetts," "To Love Somebody" and "Holiday" to name a few. Trust me, you'll enjoy them.

Seeing people enjoy it so much shows how good mum' taste in music is, and appreciate how truly brilliant some of them were. They became such Disco icon's people forgot or didn't know how good there pre/non disco music is. Thanks good luck with your channel. "To love somebody" and "Words" are really good

When we first started seeing Bee Gees on Australian Bandstand, Six O'clock Rock & JOK, etc they were these Squeaky sounding kids, But then their Apprentership paid off they had discovered how to use their Voices and write their own material we then only had them for a short time with them moving to England then America. On their return to tour Australia their early material had to be the feature not just a medley, Australians prefer their early material to Saturday Night Fever & other Disco stuff. Who could not love Robin's Voice? Would have loved to have seen Bee Gees performing with John Farnham

This 1968 song became Robin’s solo spotlight signature. Some people think it’s sad, but it’s mostly creative witty humorous poetry, so be sure to hear that side of it and find joy. I prefer the 1989 live performance when Robin was looking and singing at his all time career best. His vocals weren’t as strong, the lyrics weren’t perfect, he had lost his hair and his clothes didn’t seem to fit just right, making it sadder for me to see. It shouldn’t be your only impression of this special song. If you’re keeping a list, be sure to add add the 1988 performance so you can revisit this song again later.

Robin John, Robin's younger son, was there when his father passed in hospital and they took the equipment away. He returned to see his Dad, at peace, looked up 'I started a joke' on youtube, on his smart phone and let it play resting the phone on Robins chest. He said to him at that moment it was the most appropriate way to say 'goodbye'. It was used at his funeral too. As was, 'Rings around the moon'.

The BeeGees had some Great music in their early years. This is a great example of the well written songs that originally made them famous in the 60's. They had a resurgence with the "Saterday Night Fever" soundtrack in the late 70s when they became wildly famous for their disco music.

RJ is Robin's youngest son born in the 1980's. Spencer is his first child born in 1972 (Melissa in 1974) and has a lot of talent. RJ played this on an iPod when Robin was dying and it was played at his funeral, not sung by RJ.

The tremolo of Robin Gibb goes down as one of the original voices of the era. You can add - Cat Stevens, Laura Nyro, some others. But an original.
@susieq9801 Жыл бұрын
Robin has vibrato (not tremolo) which is a central nervous system effect on the vocal cords. Good vibrato is rare and found in very few people. It's a rapid repetitive change of PITCH in a millisecond like A to A# to A to A#, etc. You either have it or you don't. Tremolo is what Barry uses to try to emulate vibrato. It is a conscious change in VOLUME on the same note. It's not the same thing and is a learned technique but can sound a bit similar. One natural, one learned.
