The genocide route is the biggest love to hate thing I know. It's frustrating to grind monster kills, every monster and boss goes down in one hit and feels so unsatisfying and the two bosses that don't instantly die are some of the hardest videogame bosses. I love how this route is built up to tell you "Stop! This is a bad idea!" But you keep going, just because you can. And what do you get as a reward? Loosing the ability to get that perfect happy ending... This route is emotional torture and if I ever try this route again one day, I'm stopping after I've defeated sans and start reloading the last save to let him kill me over and over again because I deserve it.

Never did a genocide run. Never want to. I love these characters way too much to slaughter them. Hell, sometimes I'll open up Undertale again, not to start over or anything, but just to see Flowey give his little spiel about how I'm the only one with the power to take away everyone's happy ending. Not out of any actual need for that kind of warning, but just... for at least a few minutes... Asriel isn't alone down there.

An important thing to note is that at the end of true pacifist, if you reopen the game after the credits roll, Flowey talks to *you* specifically. He makes it clear that the player and Frisk are separate entities. Frisk has their own life in the game's universe, and he tells you to let them live their life. However, you are the one who has control and can force their hand regardless of what everyone in-game may wish. Deltarune reaffirms this with the player's control over Kris and the choice of words, especially in Snowgrave/weird route.

​@@LunarIsHere_ If you play genocide before pacifist then in the pacifist playthrough some of the main characters will remember what you did to them in the previous genocide. Then in the end if you decide to live with Toriel in the end your eyes glow red, and if you leave then a photograph is shown with everyone's faces scribbled out it red with Chara in the centre instead of Frisk. Essentially it makes you be reminded of how you killed them all beforehand.

funfact: the real knife and locket do absolutely nothing, they have insane attack but you never get to use them since all the monsters after that die in one hit the glasses + notebook combo slows down the drain of the health, meaning that it's the best the pan and apron are kinda good ig, they just give you extra healing when you use an item

so about the weapons, real knife is actually no better than a stick (not even the fastest, pan is usually used in speedruns instead), pan makes every item heal 4 hp more which isn't a lot but it's something, and notebook (and glasses) give you slightly more inv (enough to survive the first attack with 1 hp, other stuff makes you die on it so there is a difference), and it's probably the best equipment because of that, as the difference might be small but with how often you get hit on sans it can make a change

Seeing people's SOULS (heheh) getting crushed during the Genocide route only fuels my love for Undertale. It's such a brilliant and well-crafted game that really makes you think about life in general. Like the whole bit with Sans going "you do it because you 'can.' so you 'have to.'" It's such a great line, along with many other lines that other characters (mainly Sans) have said. Thank you for playing all 3 main routes of this game, and healing the kid in me that grew up watching people play this.

Sans really sums it all up there. People do the genocide run not because they want everyone to suffer, but because it's an option for them, and they feel like once they embark on this dark path, they have to see it all the way through. And then we get Flowey calling out anyone who's watching someone else play this run but doesn't have the Sludge Bombs to do it themself, that's, that was a pretty slick move. I think we can all agree that Toby Fox is a fucking genius.

Flowey tried warning Asgore about the Human. •He also asked the question "What kind of monster are you?" Fun fact, if you name them Frisk, it unlocks a hard mode easter egg with some dialogue changes in the ruins and harder regular enemies. After Toriel, the annoying dog tells you "that's the end of hard mode lol" and when you restart you get to choose a new name.

Fangames: La Jupo (Based on Undertale. Cool story. Difficult but possible with determination, and QUITE balanced. I suggest you play it, even if you don't want to play any other Undertale fangames) Ribbit (Deltarune meme mod to play after Deltarune Chapter 1. Amazing story and also Hard mode of Deltarune. I beg of you, nobody knows about this mod but I love it so much)

There is a secrete cutscene if you do pacifist after genoside but it’s at the end of the game and it’s more worthwhile to just look it up on KZbin because you would have to beat the game twice to see both cutscenes (go with toriel, I have places to be)
