I honestly think J’s justification for shooting the little girl should have been enough to earn him a spot in MIB. He didn’t shoot the “big scary aliens”, and instead shot the girl who was calmly walking through a terrifying alley at night with physics books. As an MIB agent, he’d have to make split second decisions, while also not judging aliens by their scary appearance. And then there’s the fact that many aliens can blend right in as humans.
@Jay2011296810 ай бұрын
I think that was the entire point of the test, and why its the last of their tests. J absolutely nailed it. All it took for the fancy soldiers to shoot was some scary looking monsters and blinking light, and they immediately started shooting to kill, except J. he kept calm and assessed the situation, and acting accordingly. It would be a huge pain for MIB if their agents kept getting spooked and shooting innocent refugees.. probably the best part about the whole movie.

The MIB ride at Universal is an laser dot gun shooter game. This is exactly why the first time I rode it I was confused why we were supposed to be shooting all aliens. I didn’t want to shoot any aliens that seemed to be minding their own business doing normal stuff. Lol.

OK so here's the full version of the joke Kay was telling in the restaurant: a man and a woman decided to take in a movie one night, and it just so happens that on that same night a farmer has decided to sneak in one of his roosters from his farm. After getting their snacks the couple head into the darkened auditorium, which is nearly full. there are only two seats left, and they happen to be next to the farmer and the rooster which he has concealed in his pants. Midway through the movie the rooster pokes his head out of the farmer's zipper and begins to peck and eat the woman's popcorn, she notices and nudges her husband; "Honey, look what this guy's cock is doing!" Her husband replies; "Ah, don't pay it no mind, if you've seen one you've seen 'em all!" So she looks over at her husband and says; " Yeah, but Honey this one's eating my popcorn!'

"It is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all" was originally part of an elegy. In context, when that loss is death, it makes a lot of sense. My husband will die someday. If it happens before I go, I know I'll be in a lot of pain, and grief that I can't even really comprehend until/unless it happens. But I am 100% certain that I wouldn't give up my time with him for anything, no matter how much it hurts. It's the same for the love I feel for my family, and my closest friends. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
@BearsnBrews11 ай бұрын
In this situation, I agree with it. Nobody died every time I fell in love and had to learn firsthand how selfish, narcissistic, and sociopathic everyone is these days. No thanks. I'd rather be an unfeeling, uncaring asshole like everyone else than to have "loved and lost."

This film is loosely based on an Aircel comic book that later became Malibu Comics which was later bought by MARVEL Comics .It started as a horror anthology black-and-white comic book similar to "The Twilight Zone" and "Outer Limits",with the introduction of the Comics Code Authority it became more of a mainstream sci-fi,comedic title like the film adaptation.The animated series on Kids WB balanced the universe,characters and comedy relief of the film with the dark,conspiratorial tone of the original comics.

I still love this movie. I just wish I still had my signed MiB comics (they got lost in a move). We were so psyched when Lowell, who lived and probably still lives in my hometown, told us that his comics had been optioned by Hollywood. 😀 He was always so just quiet and cool and still is. When MiB came out the local paper interviewed him and he just referred to himself as a local geek who got lucky and made good. 😀 I would still see him around town when I would go back, usually browsing around the used book store, wearing one of his many cool bowling shirts. We'd stop and chat for a while and he's just so chill. And nobody pays him a lick of attention cos he just looks like your average aging nerd, which is how he likes it. 😀

I saw this one in theaters. Back in the 90s I was a BIG Will Smith fan. He was just a funny guy. Fresh Prince, Independence Day, Men in Black. Plus he did some great dramatic stuff like "Enemy of the State" with Gene Hackman. It all came to a head with 1999s Wild Wild West, and his career was never quite the same after that. "Here Comes The Men in Black" is such a great toon. I wouldn't say the film is a parody as such. It's not really making fun of anything. It's more of a whimsical comedic film taking certain pop culture things and playing with them. IE, the men in black, alien abductions/conspiracies and combining them with Will Smith's sense of humor. I think the two leads do a great job and have some fantastic moments. They tried to replicate this idea with Wild Wild West... Which is one of those movies I want to love more than I do. I'm not too keen on the sequels. Men in Black 2, from 2002, it just feels.... Like it suffers from America's post 9/11 depression. It wants to be a 90s movie so bad, but everything feels stilted, awkward, and rushed to me. Men in Black 3 is a bit of a return to form, but that's ten years later. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Johns look especially aged. I don't know. I think Men in Black was a one and done film for me. The first one is still pretty damn great. The animated TV series was also pretty awesome, too. I'd love to see you suffer through WIld Wild West. Just as a companion piece to compare with the original Men in Black and how a "mixed genre comedy" can go horribly, horribly, wrong. The goo used for the bug's death is KY jelly. Same stuff used for the Xenomorph in Alien. It is the go-to in Hollywood for generic alien slime, because you can get a lot of it for cheap, and it's not irritating to the skin.

I was a teenager when this first came out so I've totally got the nostalgia for it. Anyway MIB II is not as good as the first but it's ok. MIB III is great and well worth watching.

90's movies are legit the best movies. Before pure CGI when writing/acting made the movies good and production was just peaking with practical effects. Independence Day and Jurassic Park are maybe the best and most complete films of the pre-modern era if you include the 90's as not modern (im a 90's kid) - The majority of Films after 2010 are actual garbage in comparison to 90's flicks/blockbusters.

Facts 4 of my Top 5 favorite movies are from the 90s that being The Crow (1994) Scream (1996) Jacobs Ladder (1990) and Candyman (1992) I may have been born in 97 but I still grew up watching a lot of stuff from the 90s and it's full of the best movies ever

MIB 2 is good, but the one that legitimately blew me (and my family) away was actually MIB International. Like, my wife and I saw MIB back in the day (heck, I even watched the cartoon they did for MIB!), and we were curious to see how it went, but we did not expect to enjoy it as absolutely much as we did. But, heck, it's Thor and Valkyrie in the MIB (like, no joke, same actors). It was really amazing, and I really hope you get to see it and react to it!

Actually, cockroaches, and other scavengers provide a great purpose in a natural environment. They keep diseases like Eboli and salmonella under control and from spreading.

This was originally a Malibu Comics title, but Marvel bought Malibu. The original was much darker than the movie and MiB was a more malevolent organization. Later comics were based or inspired by the movies and the cartoon that was based on them, rather than Lowell Cunningham's original comics and were much more lighthearted and comedic.

The 90's was the last great decade in movie making before CGI replaced story and character as the basis for great movies. Martin Scorsese, one of the greatest directors who ever lived, compared Marvel movies to theme parks and he was right. I don't expect Hollywood to produce anything like Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction, The Silence of the Lambs, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, or Saving Private Ryan ever again.

When my son was little (He's 28 now) they used to give out Neurolizers with Happy Meals and he got one. We told him that he could use it on "Monsters" and make them forget that they were scary. Will Smith said that "He's rollin with Tommy till the wheels fall off".

Ray Park was the guy will Smith chased down at the beginning of the movie. He's a martial artist and stuntman. He usually wears a lot of make up or prosthetics in movies.He was Darth Maul from Star Wars, and Toad from the first X-men movie. Also, I always kinda figured that woman talked liked that cuz shes a bit drunk, or just really didn't care about what was happening, cuz her life seemed kinda crap. Also, Tommy Lee (K) was saying that Elvis was an alien. Loved the video my dude. Men in Black 2 is pretty goos. But 3 might be my favorite, just because of the villain.

blew my mind that MiB was Marvel, but it's just owned by them. "originally published by Aircel Comics. Aircel would later be bought out by Malibu Comics, which itself was bought out by Marvel Comics." personally I think this matters cause Stan Lee probably didn't have any influence on it's creation.

One of my favorite movies and trilogies and used to watch the cartoon a lot as a child. I don't know if anyone else explained this, but during the tests J was the only one to actually pass all the tests, it wasn't just about speed. The chairs were purposely designed that way to be uncomfortable and awkward because they were testing to see if anyone would think beyond the paper and look to solve a problem they aren't immediately aware of, which they saw in J when he dragged the table to his chair, so the paper test itself didn't actually mean anything. In the shooting test it wasn't about shooting the aliens it was about looking for clues that something bigger was going on, all the military guys were just shooting aliens because they looked scary and were aliens, which you can't just go around shooting every alien you see in a profession that interacts with aliens constantly, J was the only one who showed restraint and applied logic with context surrounding the environment of the scenario as to why he shot the little girl. The reason why K was having to plead for him to join is because joining is a humongous commitment with the whole erasing your identity and having you leave your life behind.

Most "movie goop" is made of methyl cellulose. It's used to thicken foods and for a lot (A LOT) of other stuff. The roach goop was runnier than usual (movies tend to use it in a more... snot-like viscosity), but they add different things to make it runnier or thicker, different coloring agents, and sometimes bits of stuff (like sand, grains, and so on) to change the texture, depending on the look they're going for. It could have been any number of things, but the safest bet is methyl cellulose.
