If only all male pilots and all KZbin pilots would show the same respect to the discipline of aviation. It would be a safer place for everybody. Could also be that the CFI doesn’t want to be recorded.

Nose heavy ain’t she? I use 2 swipes of trim wheel nose up on short final. May have to push slightly nose forward initially but makes the flare with 1 hand easier. Also 100# in the rear baggage area helps. Love the Dynon panel.

Trust me it will take more than the 10 hrs that the insurance company requires to get comfortable in the plane. Not only do things happen faster and you need to learn to think that much further ahead of the airplane, you now have two of everything and you went from fixed pitch propellers to constant speed propellers and turbo charged engines. Don't forget you are flying downwind faster than most of the single engine piston aircraft trainers cruise at I'm sure you will do fine just make sure you are comfortable before putting yourself in challenging conditions.

this is just ''me'' and my opinion but you are a professional already, you know enough to fly any plane even if you do have to go through some training, you know how to get it up in the air and you know how to get it back down it makes me nervous to see a ''trainers'' hands on the yolk trying to take control while you are in control. to me, and yes only me, it would be better to just talk you through everything while keeping hands off...

If you want to live to see your future husband with kids, I highly recommend 25 hours of grueling flight instructions with a factory-certified flight instructor in that bird of yours. The instructor with you appears to have had too many IPAs the previous night. Please master your P.A.R.E. One final note w/words to live by: on takeoff, your first engine will quit on rotation, and your second engine will always take you to the crash site.
@calburnIII
@calburnIII 4 ай бұрын
I suspect 50-60 hours will be required to get comfortable, especially because you’re combining a much faster airplane with a whole new panel. I really like the voice-over. Too many KZbinrs try to do too many things at once, which really compromises safety.

Thanks for bringing us along on your initial familiarization flights. You are to be commended tor that! Most would say that they needed to become familiar first, and then start filming later, which leaves out an important part of the story. You are brave enough to show the familiarization process which makes the resulting information more complete and accurate. Nobody starts off being an expert but that is where the more timid start their story. Congratulations on being more accurate in your depiction!!! Thanks for your high level of integrity!! You go girl! Do not let anybody shame you for your integrity!!!

First thing I noticed was the Instructor with his hands on the controls on takeoff. Then he messed with the mixture and prop right after takeoff. Then he had his hands on the controls on landing. I am a retired Delta Captain and a CFI. I was also a Line Check Airman that flew with new Captains and First Officers. I always had my hands close to the controls but never ON the controls. The pilot flying can feel you there. No professional crew member will put up with that.

It looks like constant yoke correction? Is that just something the video exaggerates? It isn't as abrupt? Are you having to correct off instruments, or just some natural reaction? Like riding a bicycle, you autocorrect? I have noticed it in other aircraft, say small commercial commuter planes in landing, it's like "Ride 'Em, Cowboy" onto the runway. Maybe just an illusion.

Congrats....beautiful plane. You will soon find it not much different than your Cherokee. Refresh my memory as it has been a long time since I got my Commercial ~1984. I thought you had to fly the commercial in a 200HP, retract, with constant speed. Maybe different now, but if true surprised you weren't signed off for high performance....Back to the regs...haven't looked that up in decades. Out of curiosity, what did you do your commercial in? Fly safe and enjoy that wonderful plane.

“No rush to get off the runway?” Even with a full stop taxi back you still need to exit the runway as soon as possible, right? Or did you request a full length landing? Or did you mean you wouldn’t have to be stressed to get back up in the air while chewing up runway in a faster plane and rushing reconfiguration of the plane in a touch and go? The logic is entirely sound during a transition, I’m just wondering about that verbiage. Definitely hope to see some single engine work.
