I tried the side mount and it was just hard work with all the different fitments, and the speedo issues was a concern of mine too. I just used 1 curved sticky pad on the top rear and the case mounted straight on to that.

Is the surfboard hiding a massive gunt? If so, I may use that for my expansive muffin top! Some ladies tie a jumper around their waist, others use layering. I'm gonna to tote an enormous surfboard around - far more sensible!

this was a gopro hero 2 with a cheap mic off ebay, I now use a drift ghost on my newer videos, that I think looks better and is more stream lined on the helmet, (see my quick Alps video) I loved my 600F it was so much fun and pretty quick for a 600 too, I hope you get it sorted mate.

All the fairings on the front and side are damaged so going to spend a few months on eBay, meanwhile changing all the fluids, done 61,000...checking valves, usual things.
