A couple of people have asked for me to film or talk about my full-time job. Unfortunately I can't really film a full day at my job, but I figured I would explain a bit about what I do, how I got this position, and share some cool photos/clips.
I know what I do may not make that much sense, but I didn't want to get too detailed for sake of time.
I do not want to share the name of the company I work for because I do not want them to be associated with my channel. I simply work there.
I wanted to share what I did in school as well to get this position, in case I can be of help to anyone looking to become a microbiologist!
Down below you fill find a breakdown of the video with the corresponding time stamp.
If you have any questions or want me to film a video/write a blog related to anything I do for work or with college, please let me know!
Time stamps:
1:11 - My job title
1:50 - Undergraduate
3:11 - How I got into research
4:09 - Undergraduate research
4:44 - Getting my Masters
5:31 - Graduate school

It's so great that you were able to find a job in your field even if it isn't a forever thing! Research is definitely tough and sometimes exhausting but the results are pretty awesome!

Really insightful video to capture more of your background, with many recognizable elements (I worked in biotech before ;)). Research indeed equals character building! BUT in terms of self-growth, it really (should) drive you to develop analytical and problem solving skills (also as an attitude!) and deconstruct issues to get a workaround. Personally, I love assay-optimization, trying to find optimal conditions for something to work and then have it running. That gets me going :D

@@husnajalil2665 Hello there... if you are really interested to study microbiology, it will worth it. Now, I'm in the second year of degree medical microbiology at UITM but you can try applying for a degree course at UPM or USM for a better experience. I'm stuck at UITM because I start my diploma in microbiology at UITM

@@izzahnasuha9906 yeah I like bio the most. My foster sis also took microbiology during her diploma at MSU n now currently in final sem of her microbiology degree in UKM. She said degree level n diploma level of microbes r almost the same. Which is very helpful in her degree. But she's majoring in med microbes. So, I already made decision to further my study there 😃😃 My mom encourage me to take diploma in microbiology in UITM Kuala Pilah since it's not too far from where I live (Rembau yoww) and microbiology course in UITM r only in that UITM right?

When you are preforming experiments in your lab are you making things up as you go or are you following pre-written procedures? Like for example at 15:20 how do you know that you should put your sample on the tray and how do you know how long to keep it there.

This project is in collaboration with a university and the methods came from previous work. The chemist created a protocol that I followed, but I have been tweaking the protocol following each experiment to make it as efficient as possible!
@icehawk868
@icehawk868 4 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge and work experience I have seen many protocols which needs tweaking due to limiting factors that may arise in practical format. Or it may occur that you might sometimes get the feeling tweaking some variables can give you more effecient result (may backfire) so you can try it out to see the result.
