[Seattle show 3/22!] This episode has all the chaos you’ve come to love and expect from this podcast: inappropriate digressions, starting beefs with wholesome communities, and massive technical issues! Jen suspects that God killed her camera as punishment for what she was talking about. She discusses her galaxy brain weight loss theories, and reminds you that it doesn’t matter if your kids are into reading.

Every time you rant against the performative instagram/tiktok parenting trends, I get a thrill.

This was an amazing talk. I totally believe in a Classical Education vs the modern ideology push out there now. I believe that homeschool is all about letting children explore their own interests then writing about it.

Jen, I love you, it must be so hard coping with everything that you are coping with and you are doing so brilliantly. You're worth so much more than having to eat just 8 foods. Your body in the before photo looks lovely and I don't believe you needed to lose any weight. You have a lovely maternal softness to you that is beautiful. You look great now too, in a different way. The latest science is that we are healthier when we eat at least 30 different plants a week, and that food cravings can be quenched by upping protein levels. My diet is to tell myself that I look fabulous at the size I am, exercise as much as I can and try to refrain from overeating and eating refined carbs. Eating well is a spiritual battle, with diet culture and its toxic ideals on one side, the temptations of over indulgence on the other. You and all your listeners deserve to walk the middle path of a balanced healthy diet! The body has a set weight that it wants to find and that is what it will always seek so give yourself some grace. The latest science is that women are healthier when we have fat on our hips because we use that to make oestrogen. They don't even know if the 'meno belly' is a bad thing or a good thing because all the research has been done on universal man! I think we are on the brink of a change in our aesthetic. It used to be that women had to be thin to be considered beautiful. Now we are seeing women of all sizes on the screen and slowly we will start to see healthy women as beautiful. I had a check up with the nurse this morning and she was happy because I exercise regularly and eat really healthily. We are all worth so much more than the size label in our clothes. Let's ditch Barbie doll diet culture and enjoy our lives!

I am just like you. I can not touch any sugar or carb period. I am eating under 10 food choices. But I have no cravings. It's a "new" way for me. I always thought I could just control just have a little bit of sugar and I'd be ok. no way.

Dear Jen: As I write this I have my mom in a coma do to a stroke. This week as I live my own version of the Holy week I remember to well your Village Hustle, at first I was so alone, but then my village start to show, may not the ones that I would have spected, but the ones that are always there when "las papas queman". So there were my friends, my chosen family and my second cousin coming to the hospital with me. As part of my distant village because you made me laugh and happy, would you pray for me and my mom? Keep the good work of the village and scandalizing the Catholic ghetto! With love from Argentina ❤

Could you do an episode or patreon where you break down exactly how to find your cravings triggers? I’ve started trying to track them but it’s a bit overwhelming!

We didn't have family reading but I would race home from school to see what happened in my moms book she was reading mostly Stephen King. So as a kid I would pick up those and read them...probably explains the lack of friends. Not a lot of middle schoolers wanted to read Cujo lol.

As always, another fabulous episode. I do have to wonder if genetics play a part in your kids creative genius. I can't imagine how my son watching other people play video games is going to help him in life, but I guess we will see. Keep up the hot fire content!

So I was gonna say to have your son use his AI skills to create a video that goes with the sound, but then you got to the lab experiment and I thought, yeah, maybe not 😂😂

Never heard of tensor calculus (I was a math education major) but yes it's a thing: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tensor_calculus I also agree--the classics can be quite dusty
