JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: My GE washer just keeps clicking and won’t continue the cycle
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: Tyler helped me with this issue back in April.
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: Is he available to help again?
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: Hello, I sent this message this morning and have not received an email or phone call.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Hello, this is Mark.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: I’ll be assisting you today.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: You will see some phone call pop ups.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Those are sent by the site automatically .
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Ignore them if you do not want a phone call.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Again.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Ignore the pop ups.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: The site sends those - NOT ME
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Can you please provide me with the model number of this washer so I can look up the manual ?
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: GTE330ASK0WW
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Thanks.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: One moment while I look that up
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: This happened back in April and a technician helped me reset
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: It was Tyler Z
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: So that I know exactly what is going on with this.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: you start a cycle.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: does water come into washer?
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Does it agitate?
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Or does it just click after you press start and no water enters washer?
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: A little water and then no agitation.
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: it clicks many times.
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: I was able to put it on spin and it did spin and drain water out
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Ok.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: thanks.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Regarding the clicking noise.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Is the clicking noise like a ratchet noise?
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Or just a click?
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: I'm asking because there is more than one reason why you would hear a clicking noise, but there are a couple of different types of click noises and they mean different things
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: It is the clicking that happens when it gets ready to agitate.
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: Same sound as when it releases the lid from locked
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Ok thank you.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: That is the actuator clicking.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: it's a shifter that shifts the gear case from the agitation stage of the cycle and then it shifts it to the spin portion of cycle.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: That shifter sometimes will get stuck and not shift the gear case properly.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: You can't reset that - but if this is an issue with the computer board, then you can unplug the washer for 5 minutes, then plug back in.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: You can then see if that reset the computer board.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: If that didn't work, then the area below the tub will need to be inspected to see if any parts have failed.
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: Let me try to unplug for 5 min first
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: After you get it plugged back in.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: press and hold the start/pause button for 4 seconds.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: That is your reset procedure if the computer board is having an issue.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Another GE brand reset is to lift and lower the lid 6 times just after plugging back in within 30 seconds.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: that is another way to reset the washer.
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: If neither of those reset procedures work, then some further investigation will be needed to the area below the tub.
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: It is filling on small load.
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: Will see if it agitates next
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: Clicked 3 times and now nothing
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Fingers crossed for ya.
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: Clicked 4 more times and just shut off
JustAnswer Customer from Cincinnati, OH: Not much water
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: Were you planning on doing further testing yourself?
Mark M: Home Appliance Technician: One thing you can do is to tilt the washer back about 45 degrees, maybe propping something beneath the front so it doesn't fall.
