I remenber growing up haitians would make a rice similar to jollof rice. However they would only use tomatoe paste and just add chucks of diced tomatoes. Havent had it since I was a child.

Mom is the best!! This is so cool. I made djon djon rice for my very picky Haitian neighbor some years back and she almost took off her panties...And yes I make mine with the real mushrooms and not the maggi cubes.
