My Headset Settings are so good, it's basically Cheating

I’ve just bought the Astro A40 TR with Mix Amp Pro and the Astro HDMI adapter to go with it.. I have tried these settings for PS5 and they sound pretty good so thank you for the video!! I was having issues with a humming noise due to the mic, I found another video which helped me fix the issue in which I had to connect the mix amp pro up to a PC and reduce the side noise setting under the mic option to about a quarter of a bar instead of a full one.. Since doing this the headset sounds very good and clear!! It took me a while to figure it out as there’s not much info online how to fix it, I’m leaving this comment for anyone who experiences this issue.

@ridwanmiah2086 you just connect the mix amp to your PC and on the settings there will be an option for side noise... reduce it to a quarter of a bar and it will get rid of it. The only issue I've had since is other people complaining that they can hear the noise still.. I've fallen out with the headset I just plug it in the controller now and don't even use the mix amp which is as of now a waste of money.. I wouldn't have an astro again

Thank you so much, I subscribed as well as you make tech fun, sometimes I just watch your videos without even needing anything and learn a lot (didn’t even search this but really needed it). Was just on the default Astro settings albeit amazing your settings give a calmer feeling rather than the really loud noises booming in your head (from the preset) and therefore helps you hear everything in a different manner which helps significantly with hearing footsteps and helps me play for longer times without breaks (whether that’s good or bad idk). This is what I was hoping for when I ordered the astros in the first place. Thank you a lot and wish you all the success you deserve

With that setting, it's RIP eardrums for you. I recommend boost low and increasing the first 2 eq around +3 or +4 for footsteps and decreasing the high ends by +2 and your ears will thank you.

@@Syrptoh i think you should try buying headphones(not headsets) with amp and dac combo and digital port for ps4/ps5, but only if you want to delve into audio world. Headphone recommendations are akg k712, k701/k702, audiotechnica ad500x/ad700x/ad900x, beyerdynamics dt880, dt990, tygr 300r. Pay attention that they all are open or semi open back, so noise leakage will be there. Theyre all good for gaming but if you want to know what is best for you then you should try them from shop if you can. Amp and dac combo i can recommend is fiio k3, but i dont have much experience in amps, and if you get high impedance headphones then theyll be harder to drive. Problem that can happen is that headphones dont have built in mic, so you need to buy dedicated mic if you want to be heard. If you want to buy headphones with amp and dac combo then you should do your research, otherwise stick to headsets.

This setting actually is pretty damn good. I've been tinkering with the eq to find the best settings. The hdmi audio extractors i have tried haven't supported 1440p/120hz. I finally found one that does...sorta. It doesn't work in bitstream mode, only in tv mode. So im still not getting the BEST sound i can get.. But this EQ has helped tremendously. Ps: im on the Xbox Series X

The funny thing is i remember when halo reach released I got a turtle beach way back then and I had a friend say that the headset was cheating bc I 1v1'd him and my footstep setting was so sensitive that it outperformed the motion tracker and allowed me to sneak up on him. Most of my kills were assassinations, and the few times he got close to surprising me I instantly heard him before the motion tracker could pick him up and responded surprising him instead. He said it was like he was fighting someone with eyes in the back of their head that could also see through walls. I pleases me these headsets still do not disappoint lol. These aspects made me unimaginably good in swat (no shields or motion tracker, all headshot weapons) and massively enhanced my performance. In a game mode where milliseconds make or break a play, knowing where my enemy was seconds before they were even around a wall made most of my plays wins except when I really fumbled it. Looking back on it I can understand why I got accused of wallhacks at least 2 or 3 times.

TROLLGamer I bought 10 different pairs of head phones including the astros with the DAC and a soundblasterX. If you care about quality of sound go for the astros. I cared about quality too until I heard the PlayStation platinum surround. How easy it is to pinpoint footsteps with those headphones is ridiculous. Sure they don’t sound as good, but they are wireless, connect seamlessly. Honestly when you play competitive games like cod you shouldn’t care about quality but about what can make you play better. So for me, the surround sound of the plats was miles better and wasn’t tinny, compared to Dolby atmos which isn’t very clear and it’s got this tinny, harsh reverby sound. Honestly save some money, up your game and get the platinums.

So I can assume that you haven't had a problem with the "tin" sound or "reverb" using Dolby Atmos? Sounds like a tunnel is another way I've had it described. On apex legends for instance. Using Atmos the music, omg, the music sounds so good. But if you scroll over a button and get a click sound it is as if you are in a sewer. My conclusion is that the Atmos is having difficulty neither with sounds in a very high range of that it struggle with some audio channels. As in, the audio mixing channels in the game itself. Althou. Idk, man. I 've been struggling with this problem for about two years now and it's incredibly frustrating.

You realize that you're running the sound through an equalizer twice right? Once with the boost high setting from the game and again in the astro app, which boosts the high range, again. Straight "boost" is all you should do with the game when you have a legit equalizer to manage your sound.

Please help just got some for the ps4 and I’m disappointed at this time my $100 Sony headset seems to work better. I can hear footsteps great with the astros but the location is way off I will hear footsteps in my right ear and it sounds like it’s in front of me and the enemy literally comes from behind and to the left. The locating is way off.

Whenever I update my presets and sync them to the MixAmp, they revert back to the default presets when I plug the MixAmp into the ps4

@@-Syno I use "Smof Ground Loop Noise Isolator" from amazon. Most of these isolators are between £8-10 in UK and roughly the same in US currency. My A40 AUX had a constant ringing noise when connected to PC and the isolator removed it completely.

great tip John, I used a previous preset from your codmw and on the A40 tr the sound was perfect. I recently tested the Astro A40 gen 4 and noticed a much clearer and clearer sound. I found the A40 gen4 better than the Gen 3.

Have you had any issues getting the command center to connect with the mixamp? I've been trying to plug mine into a laptop to tweak the settings you covered, but the laptop is not seeing the connection.

Help I've just got an Elite Pro Tac and I can't get it to work with my PS4 slim because it doesn't have an optical output port. I've tried a USB to 3.5 and 3.5 to optical adapter but that doesn't work and my gaming monitor doesn't have an optical port. Am I screwed?

Aight so I just bought these headphones and am having some issues. I bought them knowing literally nothing about them other than the fact that they are better than most brands. I have been reading forums for a couple days now and I’m sure I’ve got the right Astro splitter, and I e set up my ps5 properly, yet I still feel like the wrong sounds are too loud or blown out and I still don’t have the same quality of hearing as I did with my turtle beach 600s. Any advice?
