Not necessarily. IIRC, we don't know what Compress did with Chisaki's left arm, so Compress may still have his arm as a very morbid "trophy" of sorts. So if the arm can be recovered, it's possible that someone with the proper skill or Quirk could reattach his arm enough for Chisaki to get his Quirk back.

@@gamester512 I know im late but Eris quirk doesnt require Chisakis arms. Chisaki is the one with the quirk of reconstruction so his quirk needs the flesh back. But Eris quirk doesnt need that as in she can just rewind his body... For example Chisaki has been cutting up her body and flesh for years and all her life. Her original flesh has been used and experimented on, as well as its in the quirk bullets that were used. But she can still rewind her body back to full health and create her missing body tissue without needing the flesh back from the bullets.

When overhaul blew off his limbs and regenerated them he'd already started the process with his quirk to reshape and reattach everything, it just didn't happen instantly. Just like when he combined with the first guy and blew apart his whole upper body to fuse with him. Once his quirk is activated it will break apart and reshape whatever it is unless he stops it, but he has to touch whatever it is with his hand or at least a finger first. Even just tapping his fingers together should be enough to activate his quirk on himself. When the league took his hands they took away the catalyst that he needed to activate his quirk, effectively making him quirkless.

I doubt they're going to take it in this direction, but he might actually be able to. Shigaraki destroyed his entire right arm, but Mr Compress only took a section of the left arm around the elbow. His left forearm and hand are still intact. If they hurried, they could attach it to whatever is left of his left arm and preserve blood flow and he could still use his Quirk. Although I'm doubtful the heroes would want to do that considering how dangerous he is.

His quirk works with his hands, however when he sends an order to his quirk for example: "destroy and reconstruct my arms" it can happen. But now as he lost his arms without activating his quirk to reconstruct them he is pretty much screwed.

Actually, no he can't. His quirk works through his hands, so without his hands, he can't activate his quirk. During the fight when his arms were reconstructed, he had to touch himself first before the arms deconstructed and reconstructed. Basically, the instructions to overhaul things happens in that first touch. He can even kill and resurrect himself. All he needs to do is touch himself once and essentially give the command to do a complete overhaul. He doesn't need to touch again to reconstruct himself as long as the command to do so was already part of the original command. Think of it like a computer: instead of powering off then powering on, he's just pressing the reset button.

overhaul has to touch something with his hands then at the moment he touches it he decides what he will break it down and rebuild it as, or just break down and not rebuild it. he doesn't need his hands to rebuild. he could touch himself and completely disassemble himself and rebuild himself, its at the moment that he touches that he decides the end result. thats why he had no hands for a bit and still recovered, cause it was still during the process of his quirk working.

He knew at that moment that no one else could ever bring his boss/father back from his coma which he put him under and that’s why he cried. Plot twist though would be eri down the line being able to control her quirk to rewind him back to before he was under the coma.

I just wanna add what could potentially make this even sadder or worse. Nighteye was saying how Izuku changed the future cause she saw Izuku "die". But really he didn't, his foresight got cutoff when Izuku got stabbed with those spikes in his arm and leg. Nighteye assumed Izuku was killed there cause he saw the blood but it was cut off. So, therefore, the vision of All Might's death, being killed, is still a more than likely outcome that we will have to sit through.

23:13 Way I see it with Overhaul disassembling and reassembling counted as a _single_ use of his quirk; he didn't _disassemble_ his hands, he _disassembled-and-reassembled_ them; if he'd just disassembled them (as with Magne, Compress' arm, and his underlings), he wouldn't have been able to reassemble them (or use his quirk in any other way); slight difference, but it explains what we've seen (also how he could reassemble Rappa after disassembling him without touching the splatter he'd become: he _didn't,_ he always intended to disassemble-and-reassemble him).

A lot of reactors seem to miss that the magician guy turned Overhaul's left arm into a marble before Shigaraki destroys his right arm. And since his quirk needs him to touch things with his hands to activate that means he's quirkless now. Also he screamed at the end cause he realized he can't take his adoptive father out of his coma now.

Even in the manga it just sort of happens with no real reaction from Overhaul (though being a manga readers have the time to look at a scene all they want to see what's happening without needing to rewind, plus it was done with a full body shot in the manga and not an awkward closeup like the anime). Ultimately i think how it happens is to blame for it too. He just real quick turns his arm into a marble with no reaction from Overhaul at all. plus i didn't even really think/know he could take just pieces of things and people like that at the time. Then you get Shigaraki destroying his other arm which was played out much darker.

Overhaul had to use his hands for his quirk. He still has a quirk, he just can't activate it. In the manga they didn't have him taking apart both his arms while transforming. That loophole was added in the anime. There is more on how he is doing in prison and what prison he went too in the ultrabook analysis. This is not covered in the manga, and probably won't be in the anime. He eventually learns to "repurpose" his quirk but those are rough translations from the ultrabook and we really don't know what this means. The problem with everyone suggesting using Eri's quirk is people assume it will progress slow enough for Aizawa to stop it in time. They have no idea how much more amplified and what speed her quirk can work at and if its reversible. They also have no idea if the range and people affected can be amplified as well, they have zero idea what factors into her quirk - emotional state or environment. Remember her father apparently completely disappeared right away, and that could be a weaker level of the power for all we know. It's just a huge risk and nobody has the experience to make that call. And if something happened to Aizawa in the process, then who would stop it?

Overhaul needs his hands in order to activate his quirk. When he was fused and had no arms, his quirk was still activated, so he can grow them back.
