Greetings Vanessa Kambi, The house is indeed really huge and 2K monthly isn't bad at all. Apartments here in Seoul South Korea are running around 4k monthly for an apartment just a little smaller than the one you are showcasing there in Ghana. Thanks so much for sharing Queen.of two cultures.

Let's all take into account the income of people renting the house. Despite Vanessa being a Scot and Ghanaian, she lives and works in Scotland. Thus her income plus her husband's will allow for them to rent at that price. Allow a girl to live a little and chillax

Some of the comments exposes your ignorance. Remember Vanessa is a middle class woman in every instrument you use in analyzing her. You don’t expect her to live like you. This is how most middle class people live worldwide. She makes her money not locally. Some of us pay as much as £18,000.00 not dollars a year for one child’s education in UK. This is the route some of us may have chosen that is our business. The average middle class in Uk spends well more than £2000 on their house rent or mortgage. Some of us have chosen to give our children the best education, live in areas of affluence etc. That is a choice. Why can’t Vanessa do they same. We are not all equal demographically. Let wisdom be applied to your comments. Again she is not at your gate begging for support ❤️

There's not one Ghanaian who can afford to pay $2,000 a month for a house on their salary. If they can, they would be living in their own houses. And if they do live in such a rented house, it is likely their employer - typically a bank- is paying for it. We're therefore left with expatriates who pay these ridiculous amounts, with the assistance of their employers (embassies, UN, multinationals, even so-called NGOs.). (There are apartments that go for $3,000 pm at Roman Ridge, which of course no Ghanaian can afford.) So we're building the country up for foreigners to live in the best homes, while most of our people live in substandard homes in substandard communities. No wonder there's so much corruption.

Exactly the situation. Was just waiting for some sensible comment. A Ghanaian worker who has enough money to rent a $2000 a month property, would rather build their own house. And while building their own house, they would rather live in a family house or live with a friend who has extra rooms to spare.
@kehindeemiabata40322 жыл бұрын
It's not up to the individual who builds a house, to rent it so cheap so people who don't have money can live in them Tell me which country does that? low income housing , eg , in America and UK ard subsidised by the government not individuals. Its nit individuals responsibility. Furthermore, the same issues your complaining about how the average citizen cannot afford to pay those rent prices in Ghana, is the same issues we are facing abroad and lots of people are becoming homeless because of it. A house like this in the US or UK will cost far more than 2000 dollars a month and those living in these countries know that very well. You can pay this price for a small apartment In London. I'm suspecting all these people complaining wouldn't be able to afford this house even if it was 1000 dollars a month.... I'm detecting some jealousy here.
@kwadwobanka2 жыл бұрын
As a Ghanaian living in the US, there's no way i will spend 2000 dollars a month in Ghana, it's big, but it's expensive as New York City. I watch your videos all the time and i have never commented, No matter how good it's, you should try to cut your expenses for your kids future. I suggested to Acheampongs like that ,but they didn't listen, and now they left Ghana. I wish i can talk to you directly.

I think that while people get all excited about the beautiful, wonderful, practical houses and are willing to sacrifice for that kind of rent (especially for their families' comfort), they forget that the outrageous cost of daily livelihood could tip over their well-planned budget. Let's face it, if rent is going up, so will the prices of basic food, basic amenities etc. - doubling, tripling or quadrupling. That is where the disconnect comes in. And I am not in any way saying this was the situation here since I do not know this family.
@yeolesam30722 жыл бұрын

That's overpriced and too much money for rent. Rent is overpriced in Accra. Not to mention they would want that $2000 one to two years in advance, not monthly. So at $24,000 initially. When it comes to real estate Ghana is extremely overrated!!!! Very pathetic

facts! I can't justify paying that much for a house that isn't all that, I'd rather keep living in Thailand where you can rent an entire villa for cheaper and it's safer!

🥴2000 DOLLARZ a month to live in a country with terrible infrastructure and no healthcare system to speak of by choice? I'm sorry but for me a high standard of living should not end at the gates of your compound. This is why I could never live in Ghana even in a luxurious mansion. I need a liveable environment too outside of my house.

Yet another one that has fallen by the wayside and returned to Scotland. Who in their right mind would pay $2000 pm rent to live in Ghana .

Imagine paying $2k a month for a house in a 3rd world country with no running water or dumsor electricity😂.

@@mariam9977 Maybe not! Rich people actually try as much as possible to hold on to the money. 2K USD monthly rent is like flushing hard earned money down the drain. If it were a mortgage, that could have been considered an investment. I guess the target renters are expatriates; because how many average well to do Ghanaians can make that kind of money in a month?

The type of house, I love. It has that colonial era feeling.
