After experiencing many hunting knives from all over the world, I understand that the Fox River is the most useful and favorite knife for my individual deer dressing and the Rampless Gunny is the most attractive and favorite knife for my collection. Thanks.

Yes, they are. Their bevel grind is superb. Their A2 steel is very well balanced between toughness and hardness. Their handle variation is pretty much admirable. Their fit and finish are excellent. Totally they are excellent knives in my opinion. They won't disappoint us if we select our purposeful ones. Thanks.

I'm having so many knives eventually. But the trigger for each knife was my curiousity how it would perform in the field. And finally I figured out what were great knives. But all of my knives don't need to be great. They just need to be lovely. Thanks.

I remember I traded it out for smome western knife. Toyokuni Masano is made out of super blue paper steel and holds its edge very well. I felt its belly curve to the point was too acute for my speedy deer dressing and decided to leave it. Thanks.

I like Buck Alpha Hunter for it. It is a strong push cutter, not a slicer at all in my opinion. Deer's scalp is very tightly attached to the skull. So it needs a strong push cutter.

Yes. In my opinion the rampless Gunny in A2 is the best knife for a hunting knife beginner. Its convex geometry is pretty shallow and can be stropped up scary sharp very easily. I think V edge sharpening is kind of difficult for everyone. In contrast stropping a convex edge is extremely easy. It will need some experiences for a beginner to hold the Fox River properly. In contrast the rampless Gunny is very easy to hold for everyone and its edge line is very good for the field deer dressing.

It looks to have a low grind flat bevel in S30V. If you need a folder, Benchmade 551 Griptillian in 154CM or BladeTech Pro Hunter Magnum in S30V is nice. If you need a fixed blade, I think you will need to take a convex or a hollow geometry in count. Thanks.

Excellent video. Very interresting to see al those different knives side by side. I noticed you skiped the Rat Model 1 folder you liked a lot when you used it. I may suggest to you the "Knives of Alaska" compagny. They deserve to be in your collection and offer very different ergonomics than other compagnies and top notch steel and craftmanship. You may want to try their "Magnum Ulu", something completely different than what you are used to. May be fun for you to see if you like it. Thx

I have a discontinued Lone Wolf Long Horn in S30V. It has a continuous crescent belly from the heel to the tip. It is not my taste but pretty useful for the actual deer dressing. Its handle seems to have the key. Anyway I have a video "My hunting folders 2012". I like Benchmade 551 and Ontario RAT1 pretty much. Buck Bantam large is a great value hunting knife. In contrast Gerbers were no good for hunting and given away. I have field videos on all of them too. Thanks.

The Mora Clipper is the bomb! Well, for the cash at least. That's what I use in both stainless (around salt water) and carbon (in my EDC bag). They do what needs to be done. I watch this video and want to purchase lots of other knives but the cash flow is not cooperating with my "wants". I have my eye out for a good Bark River Gunny at a good price. I have not yet seen that. Oh well, we can still dream.

They look like having a low grind flat bevel so to say Saber bevel. It is a difficult grind like KaBar USMC knife for me to give it a sharp convex edge. Thanks.

I think it is essential for me to compare the 3V Fox River directly with the A2 Fox River in the field and make it clear if 3V outperforms A2 or if 3V is more chippy than A2. The both knives need to dress the same amount of many deer in a row before the evaluation. I am serious and the test must be strict. Thanks.

It seems like made of some Chinese steel which resembles 8Cr13Mov in name. I discarded all my 8Cr13Mov knives after I knew it didn't hold its edge at all. SOG's AUS8 is no problem IMO. Thanks.

I don't like neck carry. I like handle scales even for a neck knife. But they increase the total weight of the knife decently and its neck carry always causes me a neck/shoulder pain. My only real neck carry knife is a cord wrapped Izula. I don't know if the Bravo Necker2 takes a nice cord wrap handle. But as long as it has scales, it is a great compact knife. About its edge angle, it can be larger in current 3V than in 12C27 of mine. Thanks.

I don't care about cleanness of my wood handles at all. I wash up the handles in hot water with kitchen soap every after use. But anyway my leather sheaths always have hairs, fat tissue, and blood in there. Thay are dry and no problem in my opinion. Thanks.

Love your collection. Have you ever had any experience with Entrek knives? There is is going to be a future Stainless 440C ESEE 4, and I believe Entrek is a big competitor (proper heat treated 440C knives). What is your overall opinion of the different stainless steels?
