My Ideal Stepney

If something you grew up with still holds up, by all means, don’t abandon it. But I’m a firm believer in recognising and addressing kinks in such things and regarding things the way they are instead of how I remember them. Story structure means a lot to me, I strive to consider appeal from several angles, including but not limited to that of an average railfan, and I have been asked by viewers on many occasions what to my mind works and doesn’t work with various aspects of Seasons 1 to 5 of Thomas The Tank Engine & Friends.

1:27 Honestly I agree with that, I always wondered why they weathered the narrow gauge engines' boilers and saddle tanks and now that I know why, I think the models would look much better with it.

Personally, I kinda like the idea that Stepney (despite being owned by the bluebell railway in England) would kind of be an honorary member of the northwestern Railway and would have annual visits every couple years. Mosley just because of his personality. As he’s portrayed in the books and TV series, he doesn’t seem fully satisfied with preservation. he’s grateful to not be scrapped, but throughout his entire visit, he was going on about how he misses having nice long runs to stretch his wheels. Having him ultimately end up where he is in real life: being a static exhibit waiting for a decade to move again, is kind of sad considering similar age engines engines, like Edward, can still be in full operation in the Thomas universe, thanks to the miracle workers at Crovan’s Gate. Obviously, I would never want to take away his bluebell heritage, but I think giving him a more idealized ending in the Thomas universe by letting him both be a privatized preserved engine while still getting to work on the Northwestern every once in a while would be pretty neat.

Something the most of these do not understand - BadManoredProductions would NEVER adapt Neville. Even if he did, that would be a different basis (which is impossible cuz not even a 2-8-0 cuz it's taken by 98462) and he would be a female now. Same does with Derek - we already have the diesel-electric (BoCo) and diesel-hydraulic (Bear) unless he is a visiting engine. Not gonna lie, as industrial engines also fall into the tank engine types, so doesn't that mean Sudrian diesel shunters also fall into this? We need a diesel hydraulic shunter like Den or Dart, or a new diesel-electric shunter (Arry and Bert maybe?). All tho I think he would most likely adapt Duncan next.

I'm confused. What do you mean by that Neville couldn't be a 2-8-0 Because it's taken by 98462. Yes I am awere about the Q1's would have to be female and that sodor already has 2 0-6-0 tender engines but what to you mean by that 98462 is a 2-8-0? Has far as I know he never said anything about 98462.
