I've lived here for 3 years now and have NEVER seen a spider, much less a black widow or hobo! I moved here from Wisconsin and Minnesota and the bugs are at least 50% less here in Kalispell as they were in Wisconsin. I hate bugs... trust me on this. I can't state what it is like in the woods... but you would expect more bugs, but here in town I rarely see any. No cockroaches either thank goodness! I would normally reply to the person below me on the meth situation... but I have no desire to speak to someone that would use such an obscene screen name.

Interesting trip. I drove across country as well back in 1996. I went from Boston area through Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, NM, Arizona, California. I also visited Nevada and Utah. The closet on a different trip that I came to Montana was Idaho and Wyoming. I would like to visit Montana sometime.

grew up in Kalispell/Columbia Falls area ... now I live in Alabama. I'm older now and have my own family but would love to be able to move back to the MT Northwest. I just don't know of any Engineering type job there to even think about applying to.

@PowerForGood The community is friendly. The job situation is tough though, not as bad as Florida, but it's still hard to find a job.

Why did you choose Kalispell to travel/move to? Do you have friends/family there? I recognized the city name when I saw it in your video title. Kalispell, or near Kalispell, is where Chuck Baldwin and his family moved to from Pensacola, FL. Chuck Baldwin mentioned some nice things about the area. Some day I would like to visit Kalispell as well. For anyone reading who doesn't recognize Chuck Baldwin's name, he was a US Presidential candidate in 2008 for the Constitution Party.
