I have a 13 gallon trash bag filled about halfway with old lighters that ran out of fuel. Most aren't refillable but have really cool designs on them. What I'm planning to do is make a coffee table with all my lighters on the tabletop, and encase them in either resin or under a plane of glass.. maybe both! : P

All zippos are brass... the silver ones are juts plated with nickel and chrome

There's a lot less brass on the non brass zippos. You can tell by the weight.

@@Weaponsandstuff93 The brass one is thicker because it's a Zippo Armor (1.5x thicker). The normal brass lighters are exactly the same as "stainless" one you have, and you can get stainless or other designs that are the thicker Armor cases aswell. The color has nothing to do with the thickness, they are all made from the same exact brass blanks, if anything the stainless ones are very slightly thicker because of the extra plating.

I once had a lighter that looked like the first lighter you showed but it used gas and had a knife blade you could extend from the top. Cheapo thing really but quite cool.

I've seen shotgun cartridge lighters a bit like that with a 3-inch blade in them, IMCO did a lot of lighters though so maybe they also did something that acted as a multitool.

Weaponsandstuff93 , I was thinking about making good my own pepper spray , really easy to do all you need is , ghost chillies, rubbing alcohol , cooking oil and a pump spray

Yeah, that would work well, heard a few people who have carried similar stuff, I imagine you could refill a spray on aftershave bottle with something that would cause extreme eye irritation but be perfectly legal to carry on you.

Haven't got any new pellets in a while, although at some point I need to do a revised review for my Nikko Stirling mountmaster scope as I've got it working well after a lot of messing about.

Yeah, the thing I really like about jet lighters is how quickly you can get stuff to light with them, compared to a normal lighter on a windy day, jet lighters end up being really practical.

You still collect ? Have over 80 scripto vu lighters. They are collectable because of the clear tank. They were used to advertise different companies. For example, have one with a compass, fishing fly , trucking company etc.... The have roughly the shape of a zippo.

All zippos are brass (at least the casing is) there dipped in nickel to make the chrome stick to the casing because chrome can’t stick to brass

Are the metal clippers the same size as the plastic? Thickness etc.

All metal lighters have a plastic insert in them. Clippers have a screw on the bottom. Take it off. There a plastic clipper that comes out. You can even take off the gasket and brass ring and turn the flame up way higher. Most are like that to keep it from being a 6 inch flame. Bic candle lighters have a plastic lighter inside without the wheel and metal top.

All zippos are made of brass casings the brass is just dipped in different things.

Hey i recently found an old lighter, i don't smoke so not really familiar with how they work. But it doesn't work. It sparks though. Not sure about the type of fuel. It has a wheel which creates a spark when flicked. I tried to get whatever gas that was in there out, not sure anything came out. Do you have any tips?

Well if it sparks the lighter probably works, you just need to open it and find out what fuel it takes.
