^^ Mh, I understand that it can be depressing but hey, I actually know that things like this can happen more than once. I have my parents for proof. They met in the caribbean on a cruise ship. But after the trip they went on to life in different citys far away from each other until one day my father stood in front of my mothers door to visit her again because he wanted to be with her and they've been together since then. ^.^ Then again, do you really need a fairytale? Is it necessary to have a dream like meeting or relationship when all you need is just one person who you're happy with? I don't have any experience in this at all but like she said... it doesn't have to be perfect. ^^ Cherish the little things.

Tina Hua It's far more complicated then this believe me.. I survived ldr for a year and 8 months but it got way too hard. I felt like I wasn't even living most of the time. I just couldn't continue even if he was my love, like I was way too depressed and I wasn't enjoying my own life because I was worried all the time :/

Had a LDR for about for 3months and it was amazing. Later we thought its not going to end well coz we were countries apart. He was here in the US and me in Nepal. We broke up soon but the feeling was still there. Days gone by and became years.. He started dating other girls and i was with a new guy. After 5yrs i got a chance to come here in the US and the first thing that came to my mind is to see him, hug him, touch him and feel him even though i have no idea what he was doing or with whom he was then. Finally, i met him on September 26, 2014 and that day changed everything. We had the same feeling for eachother and was not ready to quit again.. So we decided to stay. Now, June 20, 2015 and we are blessed with our adorable son who is our symbol of strength in our love.

Watched this video when it was initially uploaded and I was 11-12 years old. Now I’m rewatching it, in a long distance relationship, realizing that me and my boyfriend did exact same things as Mish. I gave him my plush bunny with my perfume, he gave me his favourite hoodie with his cologne on it. I listen to songs he sends me and he listens to mine. We spend hours talking on discord when we don’t have work occupying us. It felt nice rewatching this video knowing that I’m in the exact same situation and we are making it work even through the distance.

My BF and I are together over a year now, and we also run a long distance relationship... we do live in the same country but it doesn't make it more easy - not seeing each other everytime we want and not being able to give the hugs we want in the exact moments we need them... but I always say we won't compromise because we want to be with each other and not only to be in a relationship. We don't let the distance between us to define us, and that's how we make it! we meet each other almost every weekend, and I'm really amazed from what you had to do in order to maintain your relationship! Ohhh I get it! You were TRYING to make me cry, right!? This was beautiful! My love and I met in high school, moved away together for college (we lived with our respective families) and were 30 mins apart for 4 years. When I started grad school, we were 4 hrs away!! It was tough! We stayed like that for 3.5 years until he got a job close to me! Now, 9 years later, our wedding is 5 months away! I feel so blessed and I tell people all the time that long distance works if you make it work, but you have to be very strong and committed! Kudos to you! I've never met my bf:( he lives in usa and I live in Sweden. Keep strong! I'm also in an LDR and there will be days where you feel like it's not worth the wait or distance and easily give up. If you two love each other enough to commit and stay together, I assure you it'll be worth it! I only ever get to see my partner twice a year (at most) but everytime we meet it is one of the most special moments in your life that you won't ever forget.

I just wanted to let you all in LDRs know that IT WORKS. You don't have to be fabulously wealthy either. My fiance and I met 7 years ago on a video game. He was 15 and I was 17, we shared the same birthday. He lived in Australia and I lived in America, but we fell in love and started dating a year and half later. People made fun, said it wasnt real, but I didn't care what they said. I ended up visiting Australia for a month in 2010 and we hit it off so well. He came to America to study that year for two years while we figured out how we couldbe together long term. The school was a temporary fix and he would have to go back to Australia. I spent every penny I had saved on a visa so I could migrate to Australia. It was hard, stressful and I wanted to give up at times. I left America with nothing but two suitcases and the money from selling my car. My love for him made me press on and get through everything. Happy to say now that I am a permanent resident of Australia and we've been 5 and a half years strong. We live together and are saving for the future. It can work, you just have to be willing to sacrifice a lot to make it work. I don't regret a minute of it.

I would say if you think you'll be in trouble if you tell your parents then you shouldn't cause I've had friends who have told their parents about it and got told something bad. So I wouldn't want that to happen to you ! Beautiful video and very inspiring message..im actually and currently going through a ldr with the most beautiful and nice girl in the world that my eyes see..i miss her very much and is indeed very hard..the only certain thing is that with each passing day our affection grows stronger even if the need to feel each other close is hard to handle...this put a smile on my face and my girl's..thank you..it really helps to know that not everyone sees ldr as a destined failure and gives us strength to know it can work out if its that important for both of them. patience is key! to you baby...i know you re reading it now...i hope i made your day...i really miss you and i cant wait to see you again in 3 months time...you re always in my mind and in my heart..:)

Michelle and Dom I cannot tell you how much I loved this. Well I can, I mean I loved it. Your story touched me very deeply. I had a long distance love, the love of my life in fact. He was an actor in New York and I am a writer in San Francisco. It was wonderful relationship and worth waiting a lifetime for. We talked every day on the phone, wrote to each other all the time and were writing a play together. We were in the planing stages of a move for him to S.F. when just after Christmas two years ago he was diagnosed with Leukemia. It happened so fast and he was gone by the middle of January. It was terrible but, BUT I was so lucky to have had him in my life and to love him and have his love. The funny thing is, he is with me always and every day and his passing opened doors I would have never gone through had I not known him and he had not gone on ahead without me. With out Bryant I would never have started writing my blog which lead to a new life, new friends and to just today, finding your wonderful video on your Long Distance Relationship. I'm in a distance relationship with my boyfriend. We met in Florida, but he is from Belgium and went back home after a year abroad. I ended up deciding to move across the world to be close to him, so I study in London. We take the train once a month to see eachother and facetime every day. I miss him like crazy and distance is horrible and hard, but we get by and when I can visit him or he visits me, I'm the happiest person in the universe!

Very sweet. I have been with my husband for 8 years, married almost 7. We are always in a long distance relationship since he is a Marine. Work up to deployments and then deployments themselves. 7 months, or up to a year. We know all too well that feeling of being apart, and while it sucks its all worth it in the end when its finally Homecoming day and you see him get off that bus and kiss him for the first time in over half a year or however long. Communication is definitely key in any relationship, especially a long distance one. Although we spend a lot of time apart I wouldn't have it any other way. Every time we say hello again, its all new and exciting and you get to have all your firsts again. We met over the phone and talked for 4 months before finally meeting in person. In a cafe or on set, doesn't matter, you don't need to share every single detail of your life, your'e already in the public eye enough but it was very kind of you to share you story with your fans. This was so cute!! Me and my boyfriend were in a long distance relationship for 2 and a half years! It was tough, but we always made time for each other. We would text constantly, we would skype for hours and hours, sometimes we would even fall asleep on skype and the next morning whoever would wake up first would leave a message on the screen, like a little note saying 'Good Morning' with a teddy behind it. It's hard, but so worth it :) We're now going up to 5 years and I couldn't be happier :D

I watched this when you first made this, but i needed to see it again. My husband and I had our first child in September of 2015, and he was deployed in October. We celebrated our first anniversary in separate countries, this past November. We have 4 1/2 months down, 4 1/2 months left, and this really helped me renew my resolve and my optimism!

After watching the video and reading the comments, I found people who are a bit depressed and sad that I just had to talk to you guys. Have hope. I know it's hard to think that you're going to find the person in the way Michelle did and Michelle has but you have to have hope. That's why Michelle always ended with the statement "Good luck" because she truly wishes for you that and nothing more. Have positive thoughts and find your own way to be happy. I noticed that some aren't sad because they can't find someone, but sad because they feel empty somewhere. (Like I do) That's why we have to learn how to be independent and you'll see everything blossom before your eyes. Have faith and keep going even if it takes forever to find someone, you be there for yourself in the meantime and be hopeful. Be mindful and happy with the current people who love you, and if there arent, YOU love yourself, okay? We all got this, we can do it!

My girlfriend and i are in in a long distance relationship of about 800 miles and we have talked about her coming down right after Christmas. but I can't stand not seeing her. Like when we go to school, or when she's at cheer or she's asleep sometimes I just break down and cry because of how much I miss her. we fall asleep on the phone and we Skype all of the time and were always texting, we send each other little things that we want each other to have.
