When I found this channel I realized in the first videos that this wasn't a "channel" it was a person. A person with dreams, a past, a future, and big heart along with the biggest goofy grin I've seen. You can't feel as much of the community's love for you as you pour out but it's there. Take a look around, all those books, games, your collections of things. Every one of your kid's toys even is a moment proving that you've lived and gone out and thought something was cool. You bought things to make your kid's live a more joyful and entertaining life, things for your wife to have an easier and nicer time. This proves your heart, even not very good lads will still buy these things sure, but that only shows their ability to be better. We care for you, have a nice night, and next time you make a poll don't put the no option as "no we don't want to see that you stupid turd" or anything like that cause NO ONE'S saying that. It's just you saying that.

Always the ones who seem to be the happiest are the ones who struggle the worst, they say... You have one hell of a community backing you, my friend. From all backgrounds, from all religions and cultures. Quite honestly, though you don't know many of us on a personal level, I have no doubt that this community would be more than happy to hear what you have to say and step in whenever you need us to. If you need anyone to talk to, I'm happy to listen for as long as you need. Also, it takes a real man to admit your struggles and have a heart to heart about what lurks in the deepest and darkest corners of your mind. You're a hell of a fighter, Luke.

Same, but to be fair I’ve always been depressed and that’s saying a lot because I’m thirteen. And when I say always I mean along time, I became depressed once my dad died when I was eight and almost every time I tell my mom I want to kill myself she just tells me that she will send me to a therapist instead of talking to me. And I became slightly less depressed when I got a girlfriend last year because we would talk to each other all the time and tell each other every things and I told her stuff I wouldn’t tell friends or family but when we broke up I went back to my normal really depressed self but now it’s a little worse because I don’t leave my room as often as I used to and I also don’t have motivation for school even though I know I could do the work it’s just that I choose not to. I went on for a really long time and I’m sorry for whoever read this because it probably just wasted a lot of time but I feel like other people on youtube might know my pain and I hope everyone has a great day or night depending where you live

After listening to you, I wanted to share my incident. This is 4 or 5 years back, I went to a good friend's party. There were few people who were from my school but I didn't know them well. Everything was going fine then this guy started to make fun of me, I didn't say anything, then he and another person literally tartgeted all their insults on me and made jokes on me. I didn't know them, I didn't say anything to them to begin with. My parents and grandparents have taught me to be always respectful and courteous to others, I couldn't tell mthem to stop. They kept on bullying me. I was not able to even raise my head up while eating and I was not able to even eat. I've never ever felt so miserable in my life, so exposed and scared. And my supposedly good friends didn't even help me they just kept silent. Friends whom I trusted never came to help. I was never able to face those same bullies in school. I started to hide. I've had sleepless nights about this. Sometimes that same room comes to haunt me while I sleep. It has scarred me for life and now I have difficulty in trusting people now. I live in different city now and I have friends who have always stayed with me through tough times, but still when it comes to talking about my feelings, I just can't because I am not able to trust anymore. Anyways thanks OH for giving me courage to talk about my mental health and my depression.

I'm actually kind of shocked how relatable this is, and also how sad it makes me that you had to go through that. In my case I grew up with my Mum dating a series of abusive tosspots, and lived in constant fear of something kicking off. Hearing the key slide into the door when 'X' came back home from a night shift would always wake me up, and the anxiety spike would be extreme, and decent sleep became a luxury. And yep, I can totally relate to the moment where you realise no one has your back and nothing is going to change. :( I've got some advice on the anxiety/depression side of things: I've found practising mindfulness and meditation to be helpful when it comes to the anxiety, helping to reset your baseline levels to lower than they otherwise would be. Cognative Behavioural Therapy might also be a good move if you want to learn some techniques to deal with that too. The depression? Ah, I'll get back to you on that once I've found the magic bullet... ¬¬

I came home this morning after a 12-hour shift. Had my coffee in one hand, breakfast in the other. I booted up my PC to check out some videos before heading to bed for another night shift tonight. I got my string of videos ready to go, and I'm scrolling through my feed to see what I can watch before passing out. And then I saw the title "My Mental Health..." I've been suffering from depression since I was 17 years old, Monophobia quickly followed along with suicidal thoughts. Just in case no one knows what Monophobia is, it's the extreme or abnormal fear of being alone. Years passed and my depression came and went, dipped and climbed. For the last 10 years I never really talked to anyone about what was going on in my mind. I always thought it was a waste of time to talk to someone about my feelings. I always put other people's life/feelings and emotions before my own. I still do that to this day. A couple years ago I reached out to multiple local radio stations to talk about Mental Health, and I did a weekend show with one of the biggest radio stations in my city. We talked about my dealing with Mental Health and talked about the statistics in the last couple of years. My mental health has taken a little bit of a dip in the last year. For a couple repeating reasons, and every now and then I'll have breakdowns, panic attacks. I'm constantly overthinking about things to the point where I'll break down. But I wait until I'm alone to break down. In the last 5 or so months. I've attempted suicide a handful of times. I almost went through with it until a mother and a family came into the area where I was about to hang myself. I guess that was God's way of letting me know it ain't my time. *I don't believe in god myself. It was mainly just a figure of speech.* I don't catch every one of your videos, I usually watch them late at night before bed or after work in the morning. I feel your pain dude. I'm glad you shared your story about what happened to you and how depression came into your life. I actually got a chuckle to hear you explain how excited you were to get that beret. You're an inspiring person. The content you put out is rad. Hope you're doing well dude. Don't be afraid to reach out to organizations and other support. I'm talking to a crisis counsellor about my depression and other related issues. And after the first phone call with her. I broke down cause it felt good to get it out of my system, but I was also sad at the same time. Stay strong dude. I'm glad your wife is there to support you and help you through these times. It's hard to support someone when they're fighting a battle no one else can see. Hope those cookies were tasty. Send some my way brother. ; Mental Health Canada: 1-855-242-3310 (Toll-Free) Canadian Suicide Prevention Service: 1-833-456-4566 Veteran Crisis Line: 1-800-273-8255 (Call, Online Chat) Text "838255" to talk through text. Hey man, it does help when you talk to someone. I have been carrying around my depression/ suicidal thoughts for many years now (almost a decade). And it wasn't until today actually that I opened up to my wife about it and when I did I felt much relief and I do not think about suicide anymore. It is great to have a community like this and us veterans need to stick together. It is always nice to hear what a royal marine thinks, I was in the Bundeswehr. I would have been disgusted with any one of my men if I found them to be bullying a fellow soldier, we all should be connected to a brotherly bond. But if you need anything don't worry, you have an ally in the Bundeswehr.

I’m one of two founders of a meetup group of near 200 people with High Functioning Autism (Aspergers), myself included, based in PA. Most people with Aspergers have high social anxiety and trouble with depression. I, myself, had depression in 7th grade but with antidepressants and talking with a therapist helped without question. Unfortunately one of our members took her life not long ago. We had a meetup over Zoom to pay our respects to her and share experiences. One call/conversation can be what can turn someone’s life around. It did for me when I finally spoke to my parents about how I really was feelings in 7th grade. If you’re unsure what Aspergers is like the main characters of The Accountant and Imitation Game both depict it extremely well.

Thank you for sharing this. i know how painful it can be to try to fit in and never getting the chance, to end up in depression because of bullying and even being suicidal. I have been bullied for almost 9 years through out school and i hated myself for never fitting in. Nothing ever made sense and i tried to kill myself twice over the years. because of my mental instability after school i lost 2 jobs and who guessed it, i was bullied again. Now i have a nice job with good colleagues and i speak up if i think something is not right. Im still in depression and slightly socially awkward because i don't want any one to dislike me but i never gave up on my goal of living my life as happy as i can be and im on a pretty good way right now. So never give up on being happy because i believe in you, we all do

I live in the US and was always intrigued to join a branch of the military, and you are of many people that inspire me to want to join, but with already existing problems and after living in a broken home I dont know if that would be the best idea. Luke, the heart and courage you showed in this video is nothing less than awe inspiring. This has been a truly hard year for many people. I’ve seen and participated in a couple of campaigns like veterans and law enforcement officers calling and checking on their fellow vets and officers. These calls/checks are so important because like you said the feeling isolation is very real now. Your videos have brought me laughs and held some of that isolation at bay for me. Thank you for that. This video shows how much love you have for veterans, your subscribers and your wife’s cookies. 😉 I hope you see you’re getting that love back a thousand fold. Thank you again for the video. Love ya brother.

My father was in the Royal Signals during the 50s. He told me that his Sergeant would single him out for anything and everything that went wrong (even if it wasn't my dad's fault), blame him, rough him up and and punish him for it. My dad took every course that the Signals offered (even if it wasn't interesting) just to get out of drill or parade and to put some distance between him and this Sergeant. When he left the Signals he furthered his career by applying to join GCHQ and was accepted. He eventually became the head of his section and got quite a few accolades and accreditations for his work (behind closed doors, of course). He was then invited to Lord Nelson's birthday aboard Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory - and since there were no "ranks" as such in GCHQ, they made him a Major for the event - which amused my dad as he only ever made Sergeant in the Signals before being busted down two weeks later to Corporal for some infraction. Well, when he attended the event there were NCOs for Army, Navy and Air Force to greet the Officers and dignitaries as they boarded the ship. The NCO to greet my dad was his old Sergeant, who seemed like he couldn't believe his eyes and had a look of pain on his face as he snapped to attention and saluted my father as he boarded the ship. My dad made that Sergeant hold his salute all the way up the gang plank for as long as he possibly could, and in my dad's words: "with a big shit-eating grin on my face", before he finally saluted him back. After that he attended the party, and after dozens of "To Lord Nelson" style toasts, my dad told me that he got so shit-faced on Brandy that he couldn't remember leaving the ship. I thought you might like this story - it was one of my dad's favourites, though he had a rough time of it in the Signals. Stay strong man with a focus on the good times.
