Since shrinking the studio’s gaming system with the NZXT H1 case everything has been going great except the level of noise. The NZXT H1 is a great case but due to it’s fan configuration it’s not always the quietest of systems so today we are going to fix that, with a little help from our friends at Noctua.

For that cooler, i would have used the stock fan under the heatsink then added a NF-A12x25 type fan on the top of the fin stack for a push pull config.

@@TechLabUK doing this would allow for identical cooling potential at lower fan RPMS. You could also increase the RPM’s a bit to increase cooling while still having acceptable fan noise. There should be an extra set of fan clips in that cooler kit.

That's weird. I have NZXT H1 v1 and I can tweak the AIO fan from the BIOS. I modded my case by adding 2 120 mm Arctic fans on the back, outside of the case, since they align perfectly with the grid, one for the intake and top for exhaust and the system runs pretty much quiet.

I will do that too these days, thanks! How much cooler are your temps now?
@helloukw
@helloukw 5 ай бұрын
@@MrKranky90 Yes, its an easy mod. Not sure, but I'd say around 10 degrees or more since before was really loud and quite hot and now 7800x3d is around 42 in idle and around 60 in gaming, while being quiet. The GPU is around 69 at max TDP (150W), the same, while being quiet.

@@MrKranky90 Update on NZXT H1: I've noticed the bottom part of the case, GPU side, gets hot during long period of gaming, so I decided to use both Arctic 120 mm fans as exhaust and the temps are even better and now the whole case is cold to the touch. Now its even better dust wise, since the back doesn't have dust filter like sides do. CPU and GPU 52 - 60 degrees now during a game like Days Gone in 1440p, CPU 35 W and GPU 150 W no matter how much I play.

Would've liked to see the noise comparison on the video. I'm definitely switching to the aircool mod once the pump fails. The PC runs quiet enough with the hot rod fan mod on the back panel though. I have 2 noctua slims back there, running at low RPM. The only thing keeping this PC a bit louder right now is the failing thermal paste. I need to figure out why it keeps failing. Maybe the AIO is not isntalled on tight enough?
@rugby187gaming

Yeah I'd go push/pull on that CPU cooler. If you use the stock and the Chromax, maybe double check RPM on them as may be different. I changed the brown fan on the L12 Ghost S1 Edition for a Chromax and the Chromax was a higher RPM (2000 rather than 1600 on the original). Obviously you can always balance out in BIOS if on seperate headers too if required. Nice mods though, how are the temps on the 12700K now?

This is the setup I am running now. BeQuiet 140mm silent wings pro 4 at the front (exhaust) and stock noctua B9 pushing through at the bottom. The L-12S is taller than the ghost edition though, with the L-12S the top fan would have to be slim, not 25mm. I think there is clearance for 26mm worth of fan with the ghost edition as my arctic p14 would not fit right. When I am able to, I am going to replace the stock noctua fan for the A9 and move the stock B9 to the back.
