Welcome to Thriftmas day 20!!! My mum picked clothing for me to try on from an online thrift store, and i'm so surprised by what she found! This whole thing is a perfect metaphor for mother daughter relationships. The conflict always was centered on Alex NOT getting black hair, and as it turns out, the styling of this video is flawless and IT WORKS BECAUSE of the black hair. It is magical, both of them grew, met respectfully in the middle and the result is fantastic harmony. What a ride. Listen to your mother! Listen to your kid!

I liked most of it, even though I don't wear much white at all. The white skirt and pink top with champagne high heel strappy sandals and light gold jewelry would TOTALLY be a brunch outfit. Perhaps you can go to brunch with your mom, and do a sneak surprise reveal of an outfit she thrifts for you.

Alex, 2 things: A. Your mom has incredible taste. B. I don’t think there is anything that you wouldn’t look adorable in. I love your hair, by the way. I had my hair black, and then brown/black, for years. Lately I’ve been wearing it kind of a golden brown, which my stylist thought would look good, and it’s ok….but I feel the call of black hair pulling at me lol. I loved all of the clothes, but I loved the pencil skirt so much!

Literally all of them looked amazing. The first few outfits especially were just...chef's kiss. The first two-piece set would look REALLY lovely at, like, a black-tie wedding event or anywhere black-tie worthy, tbh. I also am OBSESSED with that white pencil skirt!! It's everything! And the length of the black skirt REALLY accentuates your amazing legs in the best way! You said you'd choose something shorter, but it is a REALLY lovely length on you. I also just really love you and Dan together in this, and watching him love you is so wholesome. Warms me cold, dark heart! 😂💜

My mom is actually pretty great at choosing outfits for me too. She was just as skinny as I am now but due to menopause but even more so cancer about a decade ago she now isn't that skinny anymore herself. So now I'm just kind of like her dress up doll sometimes. She has also always been very supportive of me expressing myself through clothes and never had any issues with me being more alternative. So if I did this with her I know I would get some amazing stuff. She might be a 70 year old boomer lady and I'm only 29 but she still knows what's up and what suits me and what I like. It's always amazing when parents make an effort to even know their adult kids like that. She also LOVES my nearly white hair with my green ends.
