Accra is expensive. Accra is a city in Ghana. Tamale, Cape Coast, Takoradi, etc are cheaper than Accra.

That system isn’t much different from the system in North America. It’s designed for the wealthy. Unless you are wise and move to the undeveloped areas and create a homestead.
@Born2BFree
@Born2BFree 2 жыл бұрын
At this point I think everyone at every level globally is impacted by this inflation. Everything is a chain reaction - especially in Africa. You are right about homesteading. However, it’s a bit difficult commuting back and forth from the countryside to the city - especially if you are working on legal documents.

Great content, i just chanced on your channel. i like your spirit and humility in addressing these issues. As a Ghanaian living abroad i find your expenses really low compared to mine whenever i visit Ghana. You have really got this down packed, i will definitely take some advice from your list. I know most "diasaporans" tend to live in Accra, Central and Eastern regions, however life in the southern part of Ghana is pretty cool and laid back, the expenses are much lower in the south as well. Great information. I am disabled vegan .So I am trying to find away to live in Ghana before I come. I will build my house. But the 2 years to rent while building house is do costly around $2,000 us a month for top security of my stuff shipping over an entire 4 bedroom house. I will grow my food but it means buying land which is risky.But I must eat out and have a driver until I can learn my way around. Is it possible to get a house maybe 5 bedroom with everything included with utilities.What do you suggest? From my research my monthly expenses with fire, theft, life, and flood insurance with gym, spa and dry cleaning plus hair braided, cable Netflix and mins in phone usage. Total comes to 6,000 gh cedis a month which I think is $ 650 a month in US dollars a month is that right? Because in the states my bills are $1000 a month. But I have $1500 if I include medical. Also I feel like one must save an emergency funds in case one gets sick.

I heard nightmare stories of African Americans who just moved into a house in any neighborhood and did not have multiple layers of security. One lady lost her lab top and cameras and other business equipment.They came in by drilling into her cement which is unreal. But it may have been an inside job from her security guy or driver not sure. So she packed up and went back to the US. Just to start over again. Which is why I think it’s smart to keep insurance. Some loss up to $25,000 in computer equipment. One couple in Gambia was robbed and they came in from the roof down into the shower to get in to the house. So the packed up and moved to Rwanda. Which is crazy to me because many folks in Rwanda are like South Africans still fighting for their grand fathers land. So do you think living in cantonments is smart and how far is that from portifino area. If I move to the northern part of Talmale sorry about mis spelling it may be too far to have access for a business cratering to African Americans. Please give me your honest opinion?

My family is 15 people total to come with me to get me started. However after that I will be on my own. I am the kind of person who gives advice freely from the heart. I volunteer helping refugees from the Congo. One family I worked with in the US from the Congo had 7 children. I helped them find private school, but former graduates paid for their kids scholar ships and uniforms, school fees and book materials. I helped both parents get jobs making $17.95 a hour for mom and helped with her resume because she speaks only Swahili. So she is working in a meat factory. Which hurts cause I am a vegan. But with dad my ex got him a good job in a bakery.Making now $15.95 a hour a raise every 6 months. I put them in a credit union and ask white parents to volunteer busing their kids two boys to their new soccer team with brand new sneakers. I am an PanAfrican thinker. My last name is Cisse for a reason?Maya Angelo, Malcolm X , and W. E. B. DU BOIS all lived in Ghana they are my hero’s. I only ask you for some advice and yet you refuse why????????

If Ghana is expensive for you. How do the locals survive?
@Born2BFree
@Born2BFree 2 жыл бұрын
The locals/Africans are very creative. Once there’s a shift in the market, they know how to restructure things to benefit themselves -although it can be a bit difficult at first. Most Ghanaians/Africans are Entrepreneurs. They understand market trends better than those of us coming from the western world. Hence, the price surge in different categories.

As a Native-Liberian, paving over the land of any of my sibling’s home is never my intention. I plant so much food and the growth are seen from miles away till the point that it attracted so much weeds. Sometimes no matter how much you spray the weeds they just keep coming back and pricking you for no apparent reason. For the sake of once peace, you have to pave just a little.
