I help a friend by cleaning up his Ludwig drum kit (with great cymbals), advertising it, and selling it!

I love sets like this. You can get some good stuff with mixed sets. Those cymbals were nice. I love quick beat hi hats.

cliff had those drums sounding great.

He did. I think he regrets selling them! He said with his current living situation, electronic drums will be better.

Wonder if wet sanding would help the discoloration

I thought about that, but I didn't want to risk it. Wraps can easily be ruined because the layer of color can be extremely thin.

I guess there are different theories of buying a drumset. All that nice chunky dirt and sweat and tears you're just washing away..that stuff adds to the sound! Sacrilege I tell ya! :) edit: $600 is pretty much a steal for this kit.

Brasso might achieve the same results, but Bar Keeper's Friend does a great job. Thanks for watching!

I am thinking about selling my old Pearl World Series drums but just the shells only with the tom holders. No pedal, no throne, no hihat stand and no cymbals. Would it be better to pay out of pocket to make it a fully functional kit and then sell it? If I did I would have to drop at least $300 into it.

You should try selling just the shells first because unless you get a great deal on what is missing, you probably won't be able to recoup what you spend to get it where you need it to be. Generally, you can get more from selling cymbals and hardware individually than as a package deal, and the same goes for buying--if you buy separately and sell together you usually won't make money. Do the opposite, buy stuff all together and sell it separately, and you usually can show a profit, but it takes a lot more work.

@@christhedrummerkimball Thanks Chris. Truthfully I would be happy to give them to a hungry young drummer. It seems you like performing the restoration and tuning business on drums, it’s my least favorite part of being a drummer. Thanks again for the tip and I enjoy your videos.

do u rub that steel wool w water or dry?
@christhedrummerkimball Жыл бұрын
0000 dry. I'm not sure what would happen if you used it wet. It seems as if it might rust. Thank you for watching!
