Hello Jennifer, just came across your channel few days ago and I enjoyed watching a lot of videos already due to the honesty and sincerity I feel from your content without ads and sugarcoating your lifestyle to fit the narrative. As a Middle Eastern, we almost have the same diet! But here I saw some canned food items that I always consider processed with chemicals and “junk” so if you could enlighten me your opinion from your experience how you come across and feel about using processed food in a can! I am assuming it is because you couldn’t find them fresh and raw in your area! Unless there’s a reason you chose canned instead of getting them fresh. (I am talking about things like Oysters, Salmon, Sardines, Cod liver etc)

I appreciate your take on nutrition and I agree. I was on a vegan diet for 7 years, and a year ago I started experiencing psychiatric issues when I had absolutely no history of mental health issues before in my life, for a year I’ve been trying to fix my brain tweaking my vegan diet in different ways, taking all kinds of supplements and I finally realized that I need to open my mind and accept that because of my diet is very likely that I’m deficient in important nutrients. Recently I came across an excellent book called The Better Brain by Julia Rucklidge and Bonnie Kaplan, both psychologists that have turned to research the impact of nutrients on mental health, in fact Julia as a TEDx talk called “The surprising role of nutrients in mental health” so about 2 weeks ago I started to include beef liver, pastured hen eggs and sardines and I’m hopeful, also the book mentions that in addition to nutrition (they called it just “real food diet” lol) some people benefit from broad spectrum multi nutrient supplements and that’s what I’m going to try. Thanks Jennifer for stating the importance of nutrition for mental health.

Hi Jennifer, I've been watching your videos for a couple of years now and have taken such immense inspiration from you. I don't comment often but I felt compelled to this morning. You've become a great role model to me, and I don't mean to put you on a pedestal in saying that, I have taken to heart what you always say in your videos that people should follow their own path and take the things that work for them and leave the rest, but I get the sense from some of the things that you've said in your videos that you maybe in the past you struggled with some of the things I struggle with, but it really shows in your demeanor and the way that you carry yourself that you have done so much work to address those things. And though you admit that it is a constant effort, a constant journey, to me at least, you seem to have achieved a level of self-actualization. Having gotten a glimpse at what that looks like, I see a path to my own self-actualization (my own unique path, of course), and I really want that for myself. That is all to say that I am so grateful for your videos, they have helped me a great deal.

Hi Jennifer! Firstly, I'd like to say that I've been watching your videos for years now and find them very therapeutic to listen to daily. You've inspired me to improve myself nutritionally, mentally, and to finally get serious and be consistent with my skincare routine after suffering my whole life with these. Some of my favorite videos from you are your food/nutrition videos and I'd love to see an updated What I Eat in a Day video (even if there is no change from it since then lol). Another video I'd love to see from you is regarding your bedtime and sleep routine. I've suffered with insomnia my whole life and I understand how important sleep is to our whole mental and physical wellbeing. I'd personally like to ask you what time do you aim to sleep and wake up at in the morning to feel your most energetic and best self throughout the day. I'm glad that you're uploading more consistently now after your hiatus and I hope to see more videos from you soon! Take care, and thank you for all of your advice and teachings :).

I used to drink that kirkland green tea, but it is made with a nylon tea bag. If you drink that tea, you are ingesting microplastics. Microplastics in our system can increase heart attacks or strokes up to 4-fold. It can remain in our arteries and tissues long term. It is much better to use loose tea. Even tea bags that aren't nylon are sprayed with plastics. So, I avoid it now. Too bad, because I did enjoy that green tea.

Amazing video with lots of resourceful information as usual! I was just curious as i noticed a lot of canned foods in the selection. Is there any long term concerns with eating canned foods? I know we dont have much options to preserve foods. Are there preservatives in these cans etc? Are there BPAs in the linings of these cans as well?
@JenniferMyers
@JenniferMyers Жыл бұрын
The linings are all BPA-free… but that aside, my opinion is that the benefits of the foods within the cans are more important than stressing about the container. I cannot avoid all toxins in the environment, because that too (obsessing about it) is not healthy, either. That’s just my opinion, though.

Try swapping for raw cacao powder instead. When cacao is ingested raw, all of its nutrients are intact, as nutrients die when food is heated. More heat equals more nutrient death. Raw foods, in general, contain more of their own life force and intelligence. And raw cacao contains more vitamins and minerals, more 'happy compounds,' and more antioxidants.

Just found your channel. Enjoyed this video and realized I share very similar belief in the way I eat food as you do and the kinds of food too. I’m also a big believer in routine exercise including yoga. Interestingly I too was sodium abstinent but then realized I do need a healthy amount of salt in my diet. I will try the salt brand you use. Will check out more of your past videos as well as look forward to new ones. Thank you

This is so interesting! I wonder how you manage to eat fish bones? Aren't they hard to chew or don't they get stuck if not chewed well? And I also wonder what you eat when you eat out. Maybe some silly questions but we don't get introduced to more "unconventional" diets often.
