This is something I've been thinking about a lot...I always got so disappointed with myself because I seem to forget easily what I read and id love to have the ability to quote and apply the books I've been reading.

Hello Beatrice! I just found your channel but I really like it already! The workflow that works best for me is very similar - I've noticed that trying to read and take good notes at the same time is somehow difficult, and you end up with a bunch of notes that are not relevant. When I am reading a magazine, I prefer to first read the particle, and then to highlight what I want to take from it. When you have the bigger picture of all the article, the notes you take are much more relveant than when you discover it at the same time. But for whole books it might be more difficult to do, as when you finished a chapter you don't remember when you read before, so as you do, I think it's better to highlight as you go, and sort your notes once you had time to digest them. I'm also a newbie in note-taking, but I think this system is better than anything I tried before, that was less efficient and more burdensome. I'm also really glad to see taht you are using Obsidian, because this is my tool of choice too. Thanks for your videos! I have been following a lot of productivity channels, and I've been disappointed many times by the kind of advice they give. But I really like your way of thinking (and muchelleB is also my other go-to) and I am really curious to reading your book soon! Managing different interests has been the hardest for me for a long time. I've been recently trying a time blocking app and it's helping me to make sure I have some slots to use every week for my different interests. I'm always up to learn more techniques and tips about that!

I do find it mildly hilarious when talking about those folks I've affectionately dubbed "Notionados". I get it. They love it and they cannot understand why folks can't get it or won't "try harder" to learn how to use it. Honestly, without getting into a heated debate, it's not for everyone! Just like Evernote, OneNote, Obsidian, Rome, etc. may not be for everyone. They are all tools. Use the tool or tools that speak to you and allow you to do your best work and don't get in your way.

Ehhhh Yo creo que es mucho trabajo xd considero que el método es bueno y que el último paso de volverlo prosa es algo excelente 👏 Es una buena actividad de reflexión para hacer en algún que otro libro, no para hacerlo cada vez que leas un libro de no ficción (no es que tú hayas dicho eso). Es bastante trabajo, tiempo y como tú dijiste requiere energía mental. Yo he leído 2 libros de no ficción y no tome notas en ninguno xd pero con las novelas me gusta escribir algo sobre el libro después de haberlo leído y cuando siento que es necesario hago un "lo que aprendí de xx libro" y ahí escribo pensamientos random que me dejó ese libro, suelen ser como 2 páginas de cuaderno y ya :) Lo que más me llevo de este video es volver los puntos en prosa ☑️ me gustó
