Ditch items which you moved to London. Keep the phone you moved to London with that location. Only call your parents from that phone. Get another new phone that you keep at another location, (which has a different service). Move flats. Never bring your old phone nor old items to your new flat. Don't tell your circle at home, especially your parents that you have changed flats. Don't share you work phone number with home.

I look at it more like bro she's almost 30 she should have her own car by now what is she doing with her life she lives with her parents has no bills has no property has no car if I were her parents I'd be wondering what the fuck shes doing too dose she have a drug problem maybe she's gambling like you should have something by the time you're thirty of all you do is live with your parents and don't do shit, the parents are probably tired of taking care of a thirty-year-old adult taking advantage of them maybe they want to be something maybe they're assholes because they're tired of her just staying around not doing shit

Story 1: Those parents are abusive controllers. And there was no flip on the situation. It was just a change of tactics. They went from pressure and punishment to guilt tripping. Not a flip. As far as the love goes, the parents may or may not love op. Control isn't love. And I suspect op is trauma bonded (similar to Stockholm Syndrome, where abuse victims bond with their abusers as a survival tactic), which is often confused for love.

Story 1 - NTA. OP should absolutely NOT give in to her parents' demands for a tracker. And I would DIE on that hill. Since public transport is available then that one hour commute is only more time to spend away from them! OP gives in and they win. Call me stubborn but I personally would rather eat mud than let them win this one. I'm with others here too - no use renting an apartment or anything since she's moving to another city soon. But certainly, I'd look at a short-term room rental. Might ever be able to find one closer to work by bus (or even walking) since yeah... no sense in buying a car just to sell it within months. Also, no contact may be warranted here. What kind of parents even think of tracking a 28-year-old? And what kind of father calls his own daughter such a terrible thing through her door?

Story 2 is so wonderful 😊. I wish all people could have even half the help OP was able to get. They're a mix of extraordinary people and good support. OP having such a good job and welding school, her getting to go to school, and Grandpa. If all young people had even half that the country would be in better shape. Especially since we're forcing children on people.
@ruthhenderson5413 Жыл бұрын
Forcing children on people? No one is forcing people to have sex without protection. But if you are talking about victims of rape or incest, such people should not be forced to have those children either. Between responsible birth control and abortion, no one need be forced. It does seem that in Story 2, the child was wanted, and Dad was a hero supporter. Maybe not quite a hero in the department of responsible birth control, though.

Yes... Update - My Dad's gf is pregnant, my dad doesnt know and she doesnt know he is going to propose and I am so happy and I need to get it off my chest before I explode and accidentally tell them. UPDATE- Well here is an update! The past 2 weeks has been hell to keep all this in and not accidentally tell anyone anything! But this is how it all went. It took me a while to make this update because I have been in my feels. Monday my Dad tried to sleep in like usual but my daughter was not having it so we made him breakfast in bed and they watched Disney movies and danced until 11 am. The rest of the day I spent cleaning the house and prepping for everyone, my gf Tiff went to go pick up Kay's parents at 330 and were at the house by 4. Kay showed up around 430. Just some info - Kay's parents are older and live with her at her house so they can save their money from working to retire faster and possibly spend the winters in warmer climate and summers here with Kay. Dinner was amazing and we all had a great time and Jelly was definitely stealing the spotlight trying to "help" blow out Pa's candles but he didnt mind so much. The whole time my heart was racing and I was trying to figure out how to help my Dad propose and help Kay tell him. So the way it happened - was that my Dad put the engagement ring in a gift bag to make it look like it was a gift to him and he planned on opening it last to surprise her, she planned on her gift having the ultrasound picture last to surprise him, as you see this wasnt working because they were both adamant on which gift being last. Again, I am struggling trying to middle man because he wasnt listening and I didnt want her to get upset. So we finally convinced him to open Kay's present before his. Arguing with the birthday boy was giving me dirty looks from everyone and Tiff ended up elbowing me in my ribs to cut it out. I was stressed. So my Dad opens Kay's gift and sees the ultrasound in a frame but didnt look at the name or anything just the ultrasound and he stared me down and then looked at Tiff and yelled "youre pregnant? Im having another grandbaby?" literally he yelled it so loud, everyone yelled congrats and Tiff yelled back F\*ck No. The look of confusion on everyones face and Kay over there snort laughing and said "no Im pregnant". My Dad just blank faced stared at her for what felt like eternity which was really like 10 seconds and asked are you sure? She said yes and showed her name on the ultrasound and thats when my Dad just started crying and hugging her. He was so happy and his hands where shaking and he was hugging everyone saying he was going to be a Dad again. I nudged him and he quickly ran to get his gift and got on one knee and proposed. Now everyone is crying Kay said yes and honestly we probably could have cured some land drought with all the tears in the room. Kay's mom almost had a heart attack and her Dad couldnt stop hugging Kay and my Dad. Tiff was surprised I kept this for so long and didnt even tell her. I did ask for them to not stress me out like this if they planned a gender reveal and to just give it to someone else lol. the stress from all this literally made me nauseous! \*here is where I am in my feels and why it took a while for me to write this. When my gf was pregnant I didnt have that sense of joy and happiness and feeling like my Dad did. He is so excited and now he is engaged and you can just see and feel it all over him. He wouldnt stop touching Kay's stomach and kissing her. When Tiff told me she was pregnant I was scared and wanted to run. I love my daughter and she is so awesome but even going to the dr appts Tiff and I would cry after because how real it was and we werent happy. I wouldnt change any of it but some part of me feels robbed obviously this is our own fault but that doesnt take away the feeling. Then the other portion of reality hit, Kay has her own house her own family, my Dad has us, but I have my own family now and this will change everything. When is he going to move in with her? Do I take over the mortgage payments? I planned on building my credit to get approved but I thought I had time, but it seems like time was yesterday. What now about my family? She doesnt want to get married out of need but want, but what happens if something happens to me? Where will they go? where will my daughter live? How do I secure their future like my Dad did for me? anyway I hope this was the update everyone was looking for! I just want to thank everyone for giving me strength to hold on to this secret. When I felt like I was going to explode I would just come back and read the comments!

Digital tracking is wildly inappropriate for an adult child and questionable for an underage child (I grew up in the 90's-00's and I actually find surveying your kids with modern tech to be too invasive) The way the parents backed down reeks of they installed a trader in the car (an air tag or similar would do) and/or hidden traders on OP's phone/devices. If I went out at night (we live in a pretty safe area), I would let grandpa know that I was going out (if he was awake, which he usually was until 11-midnight), and an approximation of how long I'd be gone (usually an hour). Nice of OP’s dad to be so generous with Tiffany but, it’s time for a changeIf OP and Tiffany can take some time apart they might have a chance later in life. Best of luck

Story 1. She's an adult. She needs to move out. Where is she from. If she lives in Europa she can take bus or train to get around. It's not America where you need to have a car to get around.

Best advice I can give you is ... get a cat ... or a dog ... but a cat is better since it is less dependent on you. You can talk to it and it can help you coop with the loneliness

I think the 180 flip was because they put a tracker in the car

You should give them the car back and learn to ride the bus if their is one you can ride, they will not ever let you grow up. If you don't walk out you will never have a life. Wow she is a master of twisting the guilt knife. Hear is a tip for living alone, don't ever let any one control your like parent's do! You will know you have mastered it when what your parents opinion no longer matters to you as much.

Story one. The parents are jerks but it seems like it’s nothing new. OP needs to get out on her own. You can’t have it both ways.

You don't need to be tech savvy for trackers anymore, apple air tags and similar items aren't hard to hide.

Well, she needs to move out first...she is almost 30 not 15. Her mom is sick. I do tell my mom where I go, when I come home I do text and I can go where ever I want and do what ever and stay up to when ever I want, but I do not share my location, she does not need to or ask for, we do not live together, but she does worry, but not like her mom, worry yes, never stalk. She has a job, she should just move and buy car later. NTA. Her parents are sick. Use taxi.

S2 I seriously don't understand what parents are thinking when they kick their children out after a mistake like this, what lesson is a 16 year old going to learn other than my parents are AH. Life is about making mistakes and overcoming them but this is just cruel and unusual punishment and detrimental to this new life, OP and his GF didn't even get a chance to make a decision about what to do with the child and the find themselves on the street. Parents like this should be charged with child abuse for the teenagers and the unborn child.

S2 Now we know why OP's parents are divorced, his mom's a witch.

This is OP's step up or shut up moment, life isn't fair and choices have consequences and stupid choices even more so. Right now the burden feels likes it's all on your but give it time eventually the babies mother will catch up financially and then the burden will even out. None of this is the child's fault and you need to keep your resentment of the situation in check or you will pass it onto your child, men don't do this cowards do.

If your parents bought you a car then you deal with it if you don't like it by your own car you're almost thirty years old your parents should nt be buying you cars at 30
@jamesdotson1080 Жыл бұрын
Story 1: If you don't want to be treated like a 15 year old then you need to take responsibility for your own life and be independent in all aspects of your life. Absolutely zero reason this 28 year old child could not have set herself up for nice head start by this time in her life. Minimal financial burden that came at the price of living with her family and restrictions on personal freedom. About time she got out on her own. Damn leech.

If my kids were out and about I wouldn’t mind having a tracker to know they’re safe. If my kid is above 18 Id say they are fine and don’t need my meddling. To generally say “having a tracker in my phone is creepy” is a very… problematic statement since parents DO care about their kids and want them home safe. In this context shes obviously old enough to be on her own but yeah if youre gonna write on reddit make sure youre saying what you mean.

Parents are responsible to 18 yo. If they kick their child out, whoever is providing care should get it. States are allowed to charge parents if their children are moved to foster care.

#2. You are a parent now, grow the f-ck up. That child is as much yours as it is hers, as for the grands who have checked on you they should be out of your lives. You have a great dad! If you fallow suit you will be a fine dad.

Story 2: YTA, so you knock her up now you want to throw her out? Wow your a real winner. If I were your dad I would tell you if anyone is leaving it's you. Your baby mama, wants to further her education to give your daughter a better life. Story 2 (update): You can't force anyone to marry someone, in any state in the USA. If this was threatened, your dad should have called the police, and had all guilty parties arrested.
