One day, OP’s mom is going to come crawling back with her hand out expecting money or a kidney. OP should tell her to go to the park so she’ll feel better.

Story 1: Proof to the saying that "While every child deserves a parent, not every parent deserves a child." I honestly cannot understand the stepfather to love such a woman. If he were to die or they were to get divorced, she would treat his children the same way in lieu of her new family.

That’s pretty heartbreaking to hear how this cruel pile of trash treated OP like he was the gum on the bottom of her shoe and her other kids like gold. It also angered me that even his step-dad never did anything to help. He shouldve been a good father figure to him, but that “mother”….I really, really hope in the future when she is begging for a donation to save her sorry ass life, OP, the only one who can do it, can look at her and say before leaving her worthless self “I’m not giving my organ to some stranger. I don’t even know you at all.” Thank you for your service, OP.

Story 2, that's how my mom found out too, her partner's alarm went off and he asked her to get his phone, then she just saw the notifications on the screen. There's soo many levels of disrespect on this, they can't even care enough to be more careful, they either don't care if they get caught, are stupid or think their partners are stupid. I hate it.

S1: When your mom comes back asking for a kidney, tell her you don't have one (since she doesn't have an issue lying to your face). And if you do have kids one day, don't bring them around your mother and stepdad! You know your mom will treat them the same, especially after your stepsiblings start having their own kids. S2: Unless you own roosters, you know what you saw. He's gaslighting you. "He refused to let me see his phone. I told him that tells me all I need to know then. He said no, he's just not going to play this game with me." Response: "Proving your innocence if you have nothing to hide is not a game. But if you prefer, we can play the divorce game, because I refuse to play the married to a man I can't trust, game."
@partysuvius

I would have silently begun moving out, dividing marital funds, and going through my prenup. Get the gparents in the know if I can trust them to be silent abt it and help me quietly leave. Right before I’m out, I’m sliding the divorce papers to him, unsigned, and tell him that this is the civil option. The only civil option. Divorce amicably, or I’m taking full advantage of our prenup and let the courts know he cheated, he betrayed the contract, and he will be punished. (Because I refuse to marry anyone without making my own prenup, the gov’t assigned one can easily fuck over the innocent spouse).

Establish a way of communicating with the siblings through email or something the mom doesn’t “control”. My sister does this with her kids. If she’s mad I wont give her money or a tv or a gaming console. She cuts communications to my nieces and nephew. I now know their email so they can reach out if they need anything or just want to talk

Even though they are being treated as such, it's good that the half siblings do not have the _mentality_ of golden children. OP needs to keep this close relationship with them, because if they stay on the right path, they will become his biggest allies in the future when inevitably the mom gets called out on her neglect and the siblings confirm that OP was always on the outside.

Story 1: OP unfortunately has a stable head on his shoulders and is mature because they had to parent themselves and because of all the trauma they went through. If the siblings decide to reach out to OP when they’re older I’d say give them a chance as it’s not their fault any of this has happened but as for the mom and stepdad and especially the mom they knew exactly what they were doing they lost their right to another chance. I also really hope the second OP can find a way to do what’s best for her and the kids. Sounds like she’s in a really hard spot where she feels like she’ll be screwed no matter what. I hope she has family or friends that can help her out with the kids and then she won’t feel so pressured to stay with the husband so she won’t have to handle the kids alone.

I wonder if OP’s poor treatment by his mother is why he is such a strong, clear, intelligent thinker? I am NOT condoning what she did. However, It’s not as much as the hand you are dealt as it is how you respond to it. My son went into the army at 26 and went right into Ranger training after basic. He worked so hard to redeem himself after making a bit of a mess of his life. He is now a full-fledged Army Ranger and I am one proud momma!

Oh man. I'll be curious to see how long it takes the mom from story one to figure out where her oldest kid went. My bet is not until he's out of basic and able to use his phone/social media again. She doesn't even seem like the type to be concerned enough to ask his friends (let alone know who his friends are) or contact his bio dad. That seriously stinks for him and I really hope he's able to find his own family somewhere out there. And that the other two kids get the story and stop talking to her the minuet they turn 18 lmao. It's what she deserves.

Last story, dude ruin his life for some cheap sex. I never understood that mindset. I feel bad for OP and especially bad for the little girls. Am I crazy or did this dude get his wife pregnant so she was stuck at home while he screwed around on " business trips". I have done many a business trip and I admit they are boring. They are also exhausting. Who has the energy to travel put in 12 HR days, then go screw around at night? I never did the hotel bar thing.. Seemed rather sleazy. I eat, went to my room and watch all those cable TV shows my wife hates. No not the porn stuff. Company would take me to HR for that and wife always checked my receipts. Mostly to make sure I was going to.get reimbursed for my expenses. That would be painful to explain.

He said he wanted to be a good parent and that's when anger and sadness start to come up because people realize everything they missed out on and it slams into them all at once

If you write to them your siblings the will remain family unfortunately your mother is an emotional cripple and your step father is no better or he would have made things fare for you. I would keep in touch the sibling but on the condition that they do not share it with your mother. If your mother forces contact on you refer to her by her formal sir name since being Mrs. stepfather and the father of his children, then give it to her both barrels between the eyes. Not all woman are like that, its tempting to take that kind of upbringing on the woman in your life, you might seek counseling before you settle down. He is cheating, look out for your GYN health and make sure you know what your finances are and where they kept. The way this has gone he will continue to cheat until he can rape the household to launch a new life, leaving you flat a single mom with nothing.
