Next1289 so if you have multiple cards without a gap for cables your are SOL? We didn’t arrive here because of some random decision. The placement of power connectors are from fitting the majority of layouts.

Jay, you should retry the chrome paint, I use chrome paint when doing gunpla and I always use a high gloss black paint first then paint the chrome over it, this way you get depth and a more chrome like finish, that you can polish

You could always get a single UV LED and attach it to the top of the reservoir (assuming there's any open ports left up there) with one of the LED plug kits from EK, if you decide later that you want that UV Blue look in the reservoir without adding more light to the rest of the case. Sweet-looking build though Jay, thanks for taking us along for the ride!

I recently started useing velcro instead of zip-ties in my builds. They're soooo much more practical and (in my opinion) clean looking.

Did the same three years ago with my 18 core dual 1080ti hybrid system. Practically no cables. M.2, AIO water cooling and no drives.Everything cooler then 60c all the time load or idle running a 43' 4K. All under $6K. Your system looks great!

I can see a few easy modifications you could do to clean those cables up and add a second res. GPU cables routed through basement with a small cutout. Mobo cables routed through tray with another cutout and matching cover added to hide existing tray cutout. Top mobo cables routed through one more cut out. But yout the man and I'm sure you've already thought of these possibilities. Amazing build none the less and wish I could one day have something this majestic.👍👍👍👌

@@kungfublob5951 it's a used 2009 Audi A4 2.0. I'm also 17, in college, and I bought it myself. I paid $4.5, spent 500 ish engine swapping with a totaled 3.1 v6, straight piped, am wing and lip. All together about 6k (I thought the PC cost more than it does). While my car is less expensive, it definitely turns more heads than you do in your $25k new Toyota Corolla sport

So why did you decide to use two seperate 8-pin EPS cables instead of the pro combined 8x8-pin cable kit? Legit wondering since I'm considering those cables for my next build.

ChintzyPC if I had to guess I’d say it’s because CableMod only offers the “pro” option on the individual cables (which is the option that comes with the higher quality cable combs). If you get the 4+4 pin EPS connector or the 8+8 pin PCI power connector then the pro option isn’t available. So long story short: he probably wanted the ones that come with cable combs

I think beyond the 3800x it's Starts to be required to plug them in for insurance to be on the safe side when overclocked. That's just my taught train as a newb pc builder. Starting my 1st build soon.

@Zach Campbell Last I looked you can still get a combined set with the pro versions and the pro's can come with combs if you want. I guess they may have changed this since I last looked. @@Rainbow__cookie It's safer to use 2x8, but as Buildzoid has pointed out you're right, it's not absolutely necessary with today's chips. They won't draw enough to really need it even on LN2. I'll be using two though since I can afford it, I might get an upgrade that could require it later on, and it's more aesthetically pleasing.

Hey Jay you know with a little Dremel work you can make some horseshoe slots in the PSU housing to accommodate for a cleaner run of the CPU wire under the water tubing as well as the 24 pin and GPU wires so they don't look like they're stretched up over the edge of the housing..... just a thought in my opinion of all the wires on the back or underneath the tubing it would look much cleaner and Horseshoe slotting the PSU housing seems the easiest way and cleanest way to achieve this but all comments aside the build is looking excellent!!!

Only thing you need to do is replace the little metal plate behind the reservoir that you made, with 1 big piece from inside the case that covers all the extra cut out's and holes. Then you can cut out the holes for the MB and GPU power cables to the exact size and route the cable's exactly where you want them. Either way it's a awesome build.

Hey JZ for a real chrome effect may i suggest a trip to your hobby store, particularly one that deals with R/C cars, get either a can of spray or airbrush Spaz-Stix Mirror Chrome, Spaz-stix mirror backer black and a sheet of Lexan, peel one side of the lexan , spray 2-3 very light coats of mirror chrome and back with black, stuff doesn't smell good so do it with plenty of ventilation, when dry pull protective sheet from other side , cut and shape as needed and your done , it will be the best chrome finish you will ever see
