Cheers for the comments I'll try and do some updates. Gone really cold now where I am. Watched loads of videos on people setups before I built it, spent way too much money on it. But still wish I went bigger. Love how your pond looks, I want to make mine look more like that eventually

what a nice pond broo,.. i wont to build one like that 3m x 2m but somebody say i cant but the beams on the ground they will putrid when is a rainy season?
@dannycurrie13 жыл бұрын
The wood needs to be pressure treated to ensure it lasts. It will eventually rot if layed strait on the ground but should last a good 10 years or so

Hi Dan, we are in the process of building a pond almost identical to you sleeper set up, so I was wondering if you used rebars or anything else aside from the brackets and timber lock coach screws?
@dannycurrie14 жыл бұрын
I didn't bother using rebar. Don't think it's really needed unless you using more than 1 sleeper on each side or planning to add a window. If your still building go bigger or atleast depper than I did. I suffer badly with temperature swings and I think that's why I've have paracite issues this year.
@danisfishing90133 жыл бұрын
@@dannycurrie1 if you were to have two on each side would you need rebars?
@dannycurrie13 жыл бұрын
@@danisfishing9013 yes. Use rebar. I've re built my pond since to make it bigger and I used re bar this time. If you check out my other videos I've done a few videos on the build

To make ur polish pad at the top of ur shower filter last longer buy a sheet stainless steel 120 micron it works a treat catchin crap reducing the need to replace the polish pad as much. It acts as a sieve filter old school style. Just take out rub n hose pipe down every week or so when u replace ur polish pad (no finer than 120 micron as they clog up too easily) 👍
@dannycurrie15 жыл бұрын
May give that a try in the summer, have been thinking about it. Quite happy with the floss through, it's dirt cheap and seems to catch everything
@richd-koi5 жыл бұрын
@@dannycurrie1 The 120 micron sheets r about £5 on ebay (not specifically for fish) i just needed to trim it a tad to fit into the bakki. Will make ur filter wool last much longer. Yeah giv it a go defo worth it. Dkoi n pnk international were doing it so i copied this old skool idea

Nice pond dan bud think Iv commented on your vids before. Did you not use a concrete collar on yours? If you haven’t have you noticed any movement?
@dannycurrie14 жыл бұрын
I didn't put a concrete collar in. My ground is rock hard, whole dig was done with a pickaxe. Even still it is settled a little bit. There's maby 1cm difference front to back now and it was dead level to start with. Not caused any problems though
