Amen! As an American, I'm paying insurance premium through my employer that I couldn't afford without them paying 90%. I also pay for Medicare taxes. Plus I contribute to HSA. When i get sick, I take ibuprofen and go to work because my deductible is $3k. The average American can't afford a simple illness. The flue might require 3 days off. My employer only pays 1 sick day and yes I can pull from my 3 weeks vacation. But instead of losing $2k, most middle class Americans go to work sick.

My wife and I pull $118k; we pay 55% in taxes. If you haven't done the math; you likely do as well. It's not just about income tax, FICA, and Federal. Add up the BMV, sales tax, work-city tax, fuel tax, property tax, school tax, local tax, convenience tax, and capital gains. I guarantee you it's between 45-60% at the minimum.

Unrealized capital gains tax is criminal! What if you pay the tax on the increased value but then the stock loses value the next year? Do you get your money back? You already pay higher property tax when your home appreciates in value, so requiring an additional tax without selling is just theft.
