Good question man - you're responsible for growing the account if that is a part of your package. Some clients require it and some don't.

I definitely agree you can find more clients, but then you're competing against people who will do the same work for lower prices making it more difficult to have a higher earning potential. I would think cold out reach and referrals will generate more still.

Like I said different things work better for different people but on Upwork I love the fact that you're only dealing with people who are interested in the service you offer

Yes you do have to purchase additional connects but it's an investment that is worth it once you start getting clients on there

If you feel like your profile picture is a problem and stopping you from getting clients I would change it to something more professional. Could also be a problem with your proposal, pricing, portfolio etc.

Upwork? Then you'll be competing with hundreds of people who do the work for minimum wage fees. Plus, you gotta send tons of pitches on there to job posts. How is this any better?

Not all clients on there are looking to hire minimum wage workers and if you have good portfolio work or case studies your profile will stand out. Like I said it’s still a lot of work but at least on Upwork everyone you talk to is already actively looking for the services that you provide

@@jakexhoward you know, sometimes, the company owners either don't know about upwork or haven't elaborated enough thoughts about working with a marketing service-based agency- and that's why cold calling is better. It's faster and if you haven't found success with it, it's either one of these two: You haven't done enough calls OR your offer is just boring and not worth the time. Either one of these, it's 100% on you and you can work on it. But I mean, if you found success on upwork that's fine, I just think cold calls are better in 90% of the metrics
