Thank you for a perfectly timed video! I am a minimalist/essentialist daily commuter, and wearing a backpack has always made me feel like someone was going to run up behind me and steal my bag. But a sling bag eases that anxiety, and keeps my essentials " essential".

A good point is that the larger the bag, the easier it is to load with more than you need. A discreet sling bag keeps things manageable and secure. You can even wear a slim sling under your jacket.

I bought a 6L bellroy venture sling to replace a nylon purse I'd had for probably close to 20 years. I really like it, especially how it expands and flattens. I keep a silly little arsenal of edc stuff in there: swiss army knife, zippo, sunscreen, protein bar, sunglasses, airpods, paper towels, a micron, and my favorite wallet of all time that I'll try to use as long as possible: a one piece leather wallet from loyal stricklin. It's the perfect size and the patina is nice, people always ask me about it. Sometimes I'll also carry my hobonichi planner and my ereader/a book. It even fits an umbrella or full size camping water bottle.

I love your channel and bought the Sling Lite because of it - I couldn't be happier with it! FYI, if you don't already know, Bellroy put another pocket on the inside, which is ideal for Bluetooth headphones. While wearing the bag, unzip it, and on the far left behind the Bellroy tag, locate the pocket - it's against the side rather than the front or back. Anyway, it's super useful, keeps your headphones safe, and frees up space in other compartments. Hope this helps anyone unaware of it. I didn't know at first!

Nice to see you still uploading Nick. I did used to carry a usb around; though that’s a thing of the past. I do carry on my key chain, a ‘ cart boss.’ I don’t really like carrying loot dollar coins. So I carry my cart boss just in case I have to randomly go to the grocery store and need a shopping cart

It's really nice to see someone with a bag they have used for a much longer time, I have the bellroy and i just upgraded to a larger bag, I kinda wish there was one exactly like that bag (magnetic clasp and all) just 2 liters bigger. enough for a camera. The only bellroy offerings dont seem to have the mag clasp

My Go Ruck GR1 21L is for stuff that’s good to have, will help me get home, but don’t need on a daily. First aid, power bank, reusable towel, spare key, flashlight, gloves, lighter, etc. If I had to recommend something, it would be a hero clip. They’re good if you want to hang your bag somewhere that doesn’t have hooks, especially a bathroom stall.

the only things that is missing for my concern is a small reusable water bottle. I always carry one with me with any sort of bag, and so I have small ones just for sling bags of belt bags. One other essential for me is an external battery because I'm so addicted to my phone, my ipods and my smart watch, so i need to always bring one with me, even if I tend to go for a small foot print size for just a few hours outside, and i don't want to upgrade every time, I still keep my electrics to the end of their life, that means battery doesn't always last for a day long. But as you mentioned, EDC depends on everyone needs.

Any optician would be happy to tighten up or even replace the nose pads on your glasses, even if they’re not Rx/you didn’t buy them there. If it’s not free, go somewhere else. It’s also a good opportunity to get a health check on your eyes, even if your vision is good!
