Is this whole thing just a hindsight bias, or should family either stick with or immediately disown their cheating relatives?
@elainec6687 Жыл бұрын
@@CannibalisticRapscallion I think the different perspectives on it are, inevitably, coloured by people's own past experiences, personal or indirect, so it's bound to garner more comments from those who feel strongly about the OP's particular situation. (Plus, human nature leads us to relate more strongly to a story's protagonist, so we tend to empathise with their suffering more than we would if it was told from a 3rd party perspective 🤷♀️) It all tends to provoke an immediate emotional response, as with the ex-fiance in this case, who already had personal experience of betrayal. The trick is to ride that out without reacting in a way you might regret, then look at the whole situation calmly and objectively, and proceed logically. “Trust, but verify”, is the golden rule. Whether that's trusting your partner, the person who told you, the “proof”, or your gut - *always VERIFY.* The logical thing to do is * double-check*, to find the whole truth of the matter. The husband in the other story you mentioned did that, and found undeniable proof the wife was cheating. The ex-fiance here didn't: she (1) trusted the people who told her without verifying what they said was true, and then (2) didn't give OP a chance to disprove it. Both stupid, sh!tty decisions, but choosing to date OP’s step-bro (within a year!) just solidifies her as an AH. She fvcked up repeatedly, and is being judged for it. Harshly yes, but well-earned. I know what you mean. It often seems like the responses are wildly inconsistent, but it actually makes sense I think, especially when each individual situation has unique aspects that need to be accounted for, and will usually resonate most strongly with a slightly different subset of people, with the responses varying accordingly. /End ramble. Sorry for the length 😅

What do you mean he got away easily? The man pretty much lost his entire family in one Fell Swoop all because he thought that his son would be more loyal to him which is a good thing his son isn't trash like him. I can already predict to what the assholes wanted to talk about. My guess the reason he had the number was because the posters mother wanted it so she can least try to keep in contact when she decided to forgive him. Something he believed she never would do and now he found himself calling that number himself. Likely the fucking go on his knees are maybe yell at the poster and tell him to tell everybody it was all this misunderstanding anything the man is only good at threatening. If I was the poster I would have just put a recorder and lime speak let him put the final nail in the coffin when he attempted the mandar incriminates himself further in panic. Then send it to stepbrother and let him basically shows the rest of the family if they already weren't exiling and disowned his ass then that would sure be the final nail and before I block his number I would leave now we could say goodbye through text so he knows this time he isn't getting away no excuses no nothing he lost my mother he lost his son and now he's going to lose his entire extended family he's now going to be completely alone. And I would have lambasted him for being a super retard for using that type of woman. Even pointing out she chose to tell the truth for fucking free. She's still vial for taking his money and lying in the first place and being in a relationship with a married man but have to wonder if he's going to try this to sue her which I would mock him for as well because what proof. She did what you paid her to do. I should be suing you. But I'm not going to waste my time because the one thing at least that will give me a good night sleep is knowing that the Fate you tried the delivery on to me is now justifiably on you you probably could get some shit like that tender girl to date you maybe sleep with you but this will always be a black mark on you you are never getting married again because any woman who marries you has to be the most forgiving type to let such a monster like you into their lives or a gold digger ready to bleed you dry. So have all the girls you're able to afford I have to wonder what bottom low-class prostitute would be willing to have sex with him after my mother gets done wiping him out in divorce court seeing that he cheated on her! But yeah no shit he is kind of an idiot this is good for the poster but seriously he had to use one of his Tinder hook-up!? Fucking really! He pick someone who was so easily findable and such a gullible idiot because I'm sorry I don't care if she had a change of heart she still took 60 pieces of silver to ruin a man's life and relationship by lying she's as vile as those false rape accusers so I think it's better to say she is likely going to get away with what she helped to do. It feels even if she made it right if the posters step-brother did not tell her half-truths and made the poster more pitiful than he actually is he is in a shity situation but I'm sure he had to sell how the poster is to make her feel horrible for her lie. I'm sure she did feel slightly horrible which is why it worked even though she took the money and probably told herself that the poster probably did something for his stepfather to have to pay her to lie but the fact the man was giving her $1,000 and was cheating with her against his wife should have been indication he wasn't an honest individual. Oh well if she still continuing that game may she get caught by another man's woman and get her ass kicked maybe that will get her ass off tender

Long story short he needed up being a very successful business owner in his late 20's and had got married and had kids in his early thirties, and then you guessed it, his parents started to reach out as they were surprised that they did not know they had grandkids or that he was even married, but when they found out how rich and successful he was they magically appeared at his home the following weekend, by friend told them to jog on and that they meant nothing to him. My friends wife told me that she has never seen her husband so angry or speaking with such brutality in all the years she had known him. His parents eventually left and he told me they wrote a few letters the following few years but he binned them the moment he opened them, over some beers he said "like I meant nothing to them they are nothing to me". Narcissists/Cluster B disasters and 'paths are manipulators, first and foremost. They NEED a "scapegoat" to blame their own shortcomings on (and the shortcomings of any Golden Children and a spouse), and in order to do that, they must - without any reasonable cause - hate the scapegoat. This is what they do. The Narcissists have very little if any ability to feel empathy, and the psychopaths are completely incapable of feeling empathy at all and cannot be "fixed" in that regard. In this case I have to wonder if OP's mother is a cluster B disaster herself, because of her co-dependence (up until she found the truth out, anyway, which is something - many don't even change their minds after hearing the truth) on the (ex) stepdad.

It's amazing how much those allegations blew up. A partner cheating is such a weird thing to take a stranger's word on. I've known a ton of people this has happened to, usually done by a jealous ex and often with pictures and edited screenshots of texts sent during their earlier relationship, not while with their current partner. When a random girl texted a coworker of mine with these same allegations, she just rolled her eyes, had a bit of a laugh at her desperation with the rest of us around the office, and blocked her. Her boyfriend obviously hadn't been cheating since they had, up until a couple weeks prior, both been stuck at home together during lockdown. To think OP's fiance didn't even give him a chance to prove he hadn't done anything when he offered to show her his phone is terrible, and even if it had been true, the way the stepdad butted in and took over the confrontation was really out of line. It should have been between the two of them to figure out.

I’d cut contact from everyone involved in the first story. That’s unforgivable in my eyes from the mother, step dad, and ex girlfriend. Who believes someone’s step parent over their fiancé? Girl has major issues and so does the parents. Step brother is a real bro. What a great guy for doing that for OP!

How was she to know? She was given pretty solid proof that turned out to be fake. We only know it's fake because we got OP's side. How was she to know? She is a victim too.

This story is so wild. I really want to give OP a hug for this

The step-dad is a terrible person. Like, who does stuff like this? In the end I'd look at it as he did OP a favor. He exposed a lot of people's character and how they're so quick to judge and can turn on him at the word of a stranger. I'd forgive them all, but move on and not be able to have any of them in my life. They're supposed to be family and besides the step-brother none of them are worth having in my life. Why keep people who could be so easily swayed in your life and just drop you without letting you explain anything. Life went on and they dropped dude for his fiancé without EVER letting him talk. His mom should not be able to look at the man she married again, nor should his own kid. I would not be able to marry that woman. IDC how sorry she is. She knew him more intimately and was going to marry him. She should have seen he'd never do that to her and see how much he loved her. You see how fast he was willing to offer up his phone to her to prove his innocence. She didn't care. She was too quick to believe a stranger. How does she know it was someone who didn't like him? An old GF? She didn't. She didn't even try to hear him out. There was no trust, so there was no real relationship. That man blew up OP's relationship with soooo many people for a CHANCE to have that woman as his daughter-in-law. You can't make this ish up.

So when her son was 16 and struggling with alcoholism the mum was more upset and distanced from him because he left her alone on NYE? She was more concerned about being alone on NYE than her son, struggling with drinking after the death of his father. That mother is atrocious.

Love watching these videos, was wondering if you could do more videos that have 1 story with multiple updates?

I certainly would love to but it's not always easy as I can only work with stories that's available to me. I certainly look out for them though :)

Five Seconds, five goddamn seconds to think "Let's hear his half of the story." that's all it would have taken.

Curious? He told the stepbrother why. He broke them up so the stepbrother could have the girl. Too bad they didn't work as a couple. Stepdad went through all that work for nothing.

What a dreadful step-father. Such a horrible betrayal.

holy shit. stepbro, uncle, and stepgrandma are awesome. I would've coldly said to them "I have a new life now, one without you"

S1. I can never see the mother leaving the step father. She be back in a week or two because as op said "she needs someone in her life." Sense op will still be low contact or hopeful no contact, she will be stressed and just move back with the guy. Op should never go back to his ex because the trust is gone and resentment is there. She burnt a bridge and even had a relationship with step brother, even if it was pushed but step dad this is disgusting still. Give the ring back to mom and cut contact. They never once tried to believe in op and op should have told mom about the rent he had to pay because it was the start to hell.
