20 yrs ago i was 15. That's when i started reading King. But...i was living in Europe, not all of them went to print and they're were all translated. 20 yrs later i decided to rebuild my King collection. My goal is to read everything he wrote. Sounds like a fanboy...eh... I'm also crazy about collecting different editions, hardcovers, paperbacks. No mass market. I just ordered 4 halloween editions from UK. Christine, Shining, Cell and Bag of Bones. I started my collection about 3 weeks ago and i have so far 48 books. Just finished reading Cujo, Needful Things, Shining and i'm almost done with the Stand. You're collection it's amazing, that Viking edition of Needful Thing it's gold. Also, beautiful tattoo. Thanks for taking time to show us your collection.

I gotta be honest..... I HATED Song of Susannah. I felt like it was just a set up for book 7. There was very little that was actually memorable about the book. Personally my favorite was Wizard and Glass. I felt that it was a fantastic story and amazing characters. I read them one right after another so I can tell why some people hated Wizard and Glass because it didn't advance the story hardly at all. But I loved it

Great video. Hope you've gotten around to reading the Talisman. It's a unique collaboration between two of the best horror writers ever and a wonderful experience to read. I don't even know if it qualifies as a horror story though because it's more like a fantastic fairy tale adventure and its worthy sequel Black House is more like a supernatural detective story. Dolores Claiborne is not as creepy as the cover makes it look either though it does deal with some traumatic events.

I'm new to your channel so I don't know your thoughts of Lisey's Story or how far you got into it, but I didn't like the beginning of Lisey's Story either. I actually stopped reading it and put it aside for YEARS. Several years ago, I sat down and decided to push through it, just to say that I've read it, and once I got past the first 25% or so, I really got into it and it flew by. It's one of my favorites of his now. It's very emotional. There's the supernatural element that comes in 25%+ that's really an effective foil for the RL protagonist in the book. It's not a 700 page book about a woman getting beaten up until she kills him. The hubby had this whole other world that he went to and he knew this guy would chase her so he left her clues on how to deal with the guy. It's her journey through the grief of losing him and getting to know him fully, as well as this supernatural entity/world, and the protagonist. But the beginning sucks.

I read Desperation when I was 19 and I was absolutely hooked. I read The girl who loved Tom Gordon, Carrie, The Shining, Doctor Sleep and 11/22/63 and I liked them all. Then I read the unedited edition of The Stand and I have felt a lot of hesitation when picking up a Stephen King book ever since. It was so bloated, so hard to get through that It put me in a 2-month reading slump and sadly turned out to be so far my least favorite book of all time. It made me completely forget that I really enjoyed his books and it took me a while before I picked another one up. I own a lot of his books as well. I read IT and enjoyed it. I tried to get through the Dark Tower series and got bored. I guess I have a hit or miss relationship with Stephen King books at this point.

I really enjoy your video. I too am a massive King fan. And I gotta say: I really feel like you're missing out until you read the Talisman. (I understand your bias against co-authored books, but Peter Straub is a damn fine author, and in my opinion, he's up there with King and Clive Barker). I read the Talisman when I was maybe twelve or so, and it really moved me away. I cried my eyes out at one point. Maybe it was written for twelve-year-olds. Still, it's a great book, and I'd like to recommend it to you as a favor, since you did me the favor of making this vid. Good look to you!

I am LIVING for the "Wendy, darling?" candle. I need to know what all of those smell like. This has literally been staring at me from my recommendeds since I subscribed to you. I read The Dark Half in....like 6th grade? And I vividly remember underlining the part where the dead body was found with his own penis shoved in his mouth. I don't remember the context of that scene. Just that it happened. I need to re-read that. I have that cover of Pet Semetary specifically because the cover is so amazing. Actually, I'm now wondering if I still have it... I don't even know what I have on my shelves anymore. Also, how does the paperback version of Under the Dome look so much smaller than the hardback? Shouldn't it be the other way around??? Dolores Claiborne and Gerald's Game came out back to back, and a friend of my mom's was super into getting me all King books. I think he's the one who gave me my first, which was Carrie (I was WAY TOO YOUNG, but it's fine...) I don't remember how old I was, but it's a REALLY great book. And the movie is similarly fantastic, Cathy Bates does a phenomenal job. Yeah, the audiobook for Sleeping Beauties is 20+ hours. And it's not fast to get through. If I remember correctly, you haven't read it yet, no? Horns book is SO SUPERIOR to the movie my GAWD. My heart breaks a little at the thought of you having to sell your books. But I'm glad you kept your Kings. I lost so many of the ones I had from my adolescence, I think my copies of Rose Madder and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon are the only ones that survived to come to my house. I don't know if you will even see this comment, but if you EVER want to buddy read Pet Semetary, I am ALL IN. I love that book, and as I have said to you previously, I need more people to understand how FUCKED UP they treated the cat.

I would highly recommend The Talisman + the sequel Black House. They tie into the Dark Tower and I personally really enjoyed them. The Talisman is pretty light fantasy, and Black House is very dark horror/fantasy. I'd love to buddy read Pet Sematary if you get to it this year!
