OPTSXFilosoofis really its all about perspective. H3 MLG playlist is some of the most intense stuff I've ever played, and it pumps me with adrenaline. But Battlefield 1, while not as intense, gives me the same type of adrenaline cause its so immersive. i love both games.

6:48 this is why this game is so great. That entire sequence looked like a moment in singleplayer where everything that you see happens no matter what but that was a live multiplayer match. The moments you see in this game just catch you offguard sometimes, ill just be looking around at how beautiful the game is or just be baffeled at everything that's happening that i lose focus and get shot in the head lol. No game has ever done what Battlefield 1 is doing right now.

Video games are my passion. Battlefield 1 is a game that shows what people who actually care about making a good product and collaborating to make something truly unique can do. Call of Duty: [Insert Generic Title Here] is just a sad case of dragging something that once was what everyone would line up for opening night at GameStop until 2 in the morning to pick up a copy of MW2. Now it's just a dying soul being beaten into the ground and scavenged for every last cent and shred of dignity it once had. This game is great but it needs a Naval DLC. As it stands, there is like one boat and no maps that support much Naval Combat. I'd like to see U-boats in this game and a Parcel Storm like map.

Considering Naval Strike was the most hated BF4 expansion of the 5, I'm not sure many agree with you. I did get into it with this one douche on Empires edge that camped our Boat spawn and instantly torpedoed us over and over, eventually we blew him up, and again and again. But anyway, just like the planes, boats are useful for removing the Behemoth, the Dreadnought. They can also be used to flank the enemy and attack various beaches. Most likely one of the expansions will be the Asian theatre. Not sure if there were many naval battles there. On the Western Front the Germans had a minor victory over the Brits, but were too badly hurt regardless to ever venture out again.

Alright, so this comment is around 4 months old, BUT. If youve been keeping up with the DLCs, DICE has announced the remaining DLCs. The first one release was "They Shall Not Pass" which introduced the French Army. The next DLC is "In the Name of the Zarr," which will bring in the Russian Army. The last two DLCs are a Naval Warfare DLC and "Apocalypse." So, long story short, there thankfully will be a Naval Strike-esque DLC in the future.

Not tap firing with the SMGs and (a few)LMGs will drive your crosshair skyhigh if you hold it down. Medic guns don't have a lot of recoil because they're basically DMRs. And yes,it's dumb they put way more aim assist,but if you remove it,I feel I'm at a terrible disadvantage.

Does guns are so easy to control. Like seriously they feel like the SAR from BF4. There is a snap on aim assist ( auto rotation ) and there´s even aim assist when hip firing. You can‘t win any gunfight in BF1 without taking some damage cause every idiot can hit a shot with how easy the gunplay is.

Really? I feel BF1 is much harder so far for me. Sure I still do well, and some of it might be due to having taken a break from videogames, but overall i feel the room for fucking up is much smaller in BF1 as well as the lack of "overall supergood weapons for all classes" making it more challanging. I mean, I could rock engineer with rpg and ACE carbine in BF4 and be top 3 minimum on ALL MAPS and gamemodes because I allways had an answer ro every situation and most of the time I could just hold down my trigger on my low-recoil, low spread weapon.

Gotta say, everyone talks about the more on-the-surface goodness of Battlefield 1, like how detailed the graphics are or how great the sound design is, but I love this review since it captures the player's emotional rollercoaster during the gameplay and focuses on that more as opposed "There's too many machine guns" or "The behemoths are too powerful" etc. Good review, convinced me to get the game once I get a PC that can run it LOL

This is not correct. War Tapes is the lowest audio quality setting, which makes things sound louder. Basically there is less difference between loud and soft sounds. Note that this is not new in BF1, it was in BF4 as well. It is just a kind name for the crappy sound quality setting, I'm not quite sure what the point is, but there you go.

I think they screwed up on the lack of weapon and gadget variety ( Google ww1 weapons if you think there wasn't a lot) sentry kits are basically hero pickups and the flying mechanics are ripped straight from the starships and Behemoths are basically walker assault.

Where in BF1 do you see people going on 100 killstreaks with sentry kits like on Battlefront? These are balanced classes meant to provide variety, each meant to fulfill a specific function. The flying mechanics are straight out of previous Battlefield games, which is completely different from flying mechanics in Battlefront EA. Behemoths are only given to the losing team, or on second or third attempts. They are not the focus of any gamemode, unlike Walker Assault

I love BF1. I played BC2 and BF3 but am not really into FPS multiplayer. I get bored quickly. Until now. I cannot stop playing this and can see myself playing for much longer than in the past. I sometimes wonder if PC players are worse, in median, than console. That seems counter to common intuition, but you see youtuber's vids and you're like, "Really?" I've also thought that the lack of control on a thumbstick vs a mouse leads to drastically different playstyles and tactics, as PC players can be much more efficient with their ammo. Aim Assist serves to in effect reduce the aim skill gap on console, on PC good players can get by with better frames and better mice, and a smoother hand lol.

I was late getting into video games, I didn't get my own video game till I was 19 and that was a ps4 with COD ghosts, I really enjoyed COD until I got Battlefeild 4, at first I didn't like it, it was different and hard but once I started to understand how to play the game and a few experienced guys showed me a few things I really started to love it, it was like the more you play it the better it got. I ended up buying Battlefeild 1 and I love it! I'm never going back to COD. You do a great job on your videos and I really enjoy them keep them coming buddy!

I'm really enjoying BF1 lots of things to do to help the team where as in CoD its usually down to one thing to do B flag and in CoD you can't hardly find 1 person who plays the objs really a sad group. Getting burnt out on the cartoon graphics games like CoD has become. BF1 at times looks almost real and thats what I have always looked for, for a long time. I'm looking forward to some MWR in a few days but like you said come Friday night I'll be hanging at BF1 for my weekend gaming fix. So far I rate it at 9.4 of 10.

Thanks for this video, as a long time player of the battlefield series from 1942 onwards I wondered why I found bf1 so hard to get into and enjoy compared with the earlier ones. The instant gratification factor I have with a lot of other games was absent, I have been playing a lot of overwatch and went in with a focused team objective based overwatch mindset with set chokes and enemy paths then getting wrecked from everywhere when perhaps I should have been thinking like a paranoid DayZ player instead. I enjoy both games, but I would suggest BF1 since it has a way higher player population count than BF4. I know because I love BF4, but when ever I go to play it, there's only like 5 filled servers, and all of them are Conquest. But if you don't really care about there being a chance to be able to play a game, as opposed to knowing you'll be able to, I would suggest BF4. I love BF1, but the clips you see in this guy's videos are not the clips you'll be seeing in game. The majority of the time will most likely be repeated deaths.

Sorry BDobbz. I usually agree with you but here I'm going to have to say that I could not disagree more. As a huge BF fan, I think BF1 is the worst in the franchise. I'm not sure what you're seeing, but there is no immersion or authenticity to this game at all. I especially disagree with your hatred of homogenous AR-styled weaponry and tactics. It's far more realistic for every gun to be relatively similar in utility. What it comes down to for me is how absurdly unrealistic this title is. For me, realism = fun. If an FPS wants to look realistic, I am holding them accountable for making the gameplay realistic. I cannot comprehend why someone would want fast-paced, arcadey gameplay in a realistic setting. I enjoy my arena-based shooters, and I enjoy my milsims, but why mix them? Sure, the other BF games weren't the most realistic, but they were realistic in just the right areas to make me happy, and they were unrealistic in areas that didn't bother me. BF1 just does everything to piss me off. Its pace is way too fast, the gunplay is stupid rock, paper, scissors hard counter bullshit, and all the equipment that is used is disproportional to reality. The game is a complete travesty to me. I really wanted it to be like Red Orchestra in WW1.

Dioxety I love BC2, it's one of my faves. I think BF4 has surpassed it though. Also most of my friends who love Battlefield hate BF1 as well. I actually have found that most BF veterans hate the game for a huge variety of reasons. I think the game hit an unhappy medium where lots of different people are pissed off for lots of vastly different reasons.

All equipment that is used is disproportional to reality? oh so you just wanna sit in the trenches with your sniper rifle all day every day for the next 2 years. people are saying there is no variety in the game yet you are criticizing that it has too much unrealistic weapons and equipment. homogenous AR-styled game ruined bf4. if you are a recon, your job is to spot enemies from a distance and inform your team about the enemies location. if you are a support player your job is to suppress the enemy. you are not supposed to go around like a crazy mad man with ACW-R and stuff. you could literally snipe people with AR, and even with fucking PDW wtf are you talking about? and if you think tap firing is a skill, it is not. after some time, even a 3 year old kid would learn how to tap fire. this is why recoil is non-existent with most of the guns in bf4 after 2 weeks, making every automatic rifle very effective from close range to long range. "Far more realistic for every gun to be relatively similar in utility" this is the stupidest shit I have ever heard. why would you wanna use anything but ACW-R for carbine class. it literally makes every gun feel redundant and that is why 75 percent of the guns in bf4 felt boring to play with, because they either felt the same or get obliterated by any other gun in the game. if you have a machine gun your job is to suppress the enemy in medium range. if you have a smg you excel at close quarters. if you have a sniper rifle you excel at long range. they actually make every class unique yet you want more of a homogeneous play style. I mean there are no difference between G36C and Type35B-1 and AEK and MTAR and you find this realistic?

Not gonna read all that, I can tell you are not after the same game experience as I am. To me, the most compelling infantry skill is the need to observe angles of exposure. This means paying extreme attention to your angles of fire and the angles you can be fired upon. BF4 does this better than any other BF game because any weapon can tap fire you to death from just about any range. There are still subtle advantages and disadvantages which I find compelling, but gun choice should not be a major factor in every firefight. But in BF1, the angles don't matter as much. You'll get killed quickly up close by assaults but they cannot reliably shoot you at mid range. LMG's will give you early warning signs with their negative spread mechanic, thus allowing you to bunny hop back into cover, and the same goes for medic rifles which need to stop and pace their shots due to the ridiculous spread they suffer from. You don't have to play a geometry game at all except against snipers, which have that stupid sweet spot mechanic. Basically, the guns just rock, paper, scissors each other. This may be a personal preference thing, but I fundamentally disagree with hard counters in any video game, ever. I despise any form of hard counter systems so much, I consider them terrible game design just because of how unfun and casual it makes a game feel to me. Again, the main skill I think a military FPS should emphasize is angles of exposure, and teamwork should be relegated towards providing more coverage on that front. I really hate teamwork in the sense of spamming RPG or MOBA styled class abilities. Actually, now that I think about it, if you like Overwatch, you'll probably like BF1. I personally hate Overwatch and the MOBA genre in its entirety, which probably explains a lot in why I hate BF1. P.S., yes homogenous weapons are more realistic. Go play Arma, Insurgency, Project Reality, and Red Orchestra. These are all milsims of various types. You know what they have in common? Extremely homogenous weapons. An SMG will beat an AR 6-7 times out of 10 up close. Vice versa at mid range. That's how it is in milsims, and that's how it is in real life. A single bullet or two from any gun will kill you. That is why the differences are far more subtle, but still important in both milsims and real life. I enjoy this far more than playing a war game dressed up as an RPG or MOBA genre. I really hate those two genres with the exception of turn-based tactics RPG's like Fire Emblem or XCOM.

Natsu observe angles? what angles? your minimap? you didnt even have to listen and see your environment to know where your enemy is. you just had to look left and there you go. you have all the information you need in a couple of seconds. And no i hate overwatch and I love bf4. but there were so much that devs needed to fix about that game. even after 3 years guns are not even balanced, and the game is full of shit like M320 airburst and FLIRs and 40X scopes and lock on rocket launchers. if the gun choice should not be a major factor in a fucking FPS game I dont know what is. you just want every gun to be OP as fuck in every scenario, making them feel redundant and literal replicas of each other. there were nothing special about sniper rifles in bf4. there were no reason to pick SV over SRR, M40 over JNG. they were all the same.

This game is amazing. I'm came from cod and it took me about 15 games to feel confident in my actions. You're right about this game being immersive especially when you are playing with friends. My best memory so far is shooting down a blimp from using the gun mounted on the side of the biplane while my friend was dodging and evading enemy fire.

And because i dont support companies bullshit DLC practices i dont have acces to any of the content.. Wich should have been in the game from the very beginning.. this is all BS. the game is stale and lacking enough content and too chaotic. the maps have no flow to them, it seems like the game isn't even complete yet. The graphics and the sound yes are amazing. But all in all Battlefield 1 gets a 4/10 and is easily the worst battlefield game I've played. The gunplay is just so boring and bland.

For starters, great video. The first thing I noticed when I first played BF1 was just how real it seemed. I had my headset cranked up and I could legitimately feel my heart racing during my first games in Operations. The first thing I remember telling my friends was that I felt like I was actually in the war. Personally I love this game and won't be buying the new Cod. This coming from someone who has been playing Cod since BO1 and has a couple thousand hours in the series and never really got into to Battlefield before now.

The thing battlefield has over most other games is anticipation, like when you're storming the beaches in gulf of oman in bf3/4 and you're in a RIB boat, you can't do anything but that alone is far more intense than any other franchise with enemy fire coming in from the beach and the city and the other boats are catching fire. This feeling nicely carries over to bf1, especially in operations when you're in the trench and you hear the whistle blow and everyone on the other team starts shouting, gas starts to come in people are getting shoveled, burnt, blown to death left and right. So much immersion and anticipation.

i love this game! theres so many moments where it felt like it was just getting too out of control, and id just run forward, not doing a specific objective, but killing the enemies and surviving. just going into the chaos of the battle and looking for cover to collect myself and figure out my next move. i hadnt done that sense bf3, and thats the first one i played.

I'm really enjoying this game, so thank you @BDobbins because I picked it up because of your recommendations. I do get a bit frustrated from the lack of communications when I'm in a match, I have maybe 8 or 10 hours played and I've only had one game where one person had a mic, unfortunately they where talking about cars or something, nothing about the game. I love how tactical this game needs to be and how much I enjoy helping and supporting the squad I am in. It's been a learning curve for me, I've played COD for years, solo for the most part and I'm good at it I guess, but coming into BF1 I am humbled yet excited that I have to think, use strategy and make decisions that not only affect me in the game but my squad. All in all this game is amazing and I'm glad I'm here now and I'll be sure to stay for years to come!

I think 6:47 shows how great of a war game this is. The visuals, the amount of people, the sound and the screaming. Hearing someone dying and yelling for someone to do something while gas, grenades, fire, constant shelling, and close quarters combat sometimes even requiring bloody hand to hand combat is all occurring.

I absolutely love battlefield 1 so far. My biggest appreciation comes with the fact that the launch isn't a cluster fuck of glitches and game crashing bugs. I also think that this game does one thing that games used to do but haven't done recently. it actually makes players think about what they're doing and gives true opportunities for people to feel like absolute badasses. in the past three years there has yet to be a game that does what Battlefield 1 does as well as Battlefield 1 does it. I think that the world war one setting is a fantastic addition to first person shooters everywhere and Battlefield specifically, and think that other development teams should take notes from Dice's example.
