We are back at it responding to your comments and questions via this monthly video series. I love reading and responding to your comments and as you can tell I'll jump into the comments section with a reply or a heart quite often. If one of the questions I answered was not detailed enough or you want more info on the subject please let me know so that I can make a dedicated video giving you all of the info!
A couple favorite questions/comments from this video are
1) What are my thoughts on breast reduction?
2) How to improve posture?
3) Why is my red meat video offline?
4) Am I Doing too many Bicep Curls?
5) Why do I have sensitive skin during an illness?
6) Why does my lower rib pop?
7) Snoring is dangerous?
8) Being a paramedic too traumatic?
Doctors are traditionally unreachable and I want to change that. So hop into this video’s and any other of my video’s comment section and ask dr mike! I want to see your username pop up on my next responding to comments video.
If you have an idea of something you want me to cover in depth, please let me know because I take your requests seriously. We will be back with more Medical Drama Review Series in a couple of weeks so please submit more names of shows/episodes you'd like for me to watch. Love you all!

Exactly true. After seeing Ed Sheeran live concert videos for a couple of weeks, i felt like becoming a music artist like him. The way he controls his loop pedal n audience is just mesmerizing and it looks all easy but there's a lot more to put in. And my thoughts get easily influenced because it only took a week of science videos which led my thoughts to become an engineer. And now I'm here, watching Dr. Mikhail's videos, and he's influencing(or encouraging) me to become a doctor. I have a very moody and wavering mind. I really don't know how to get my mind under control. Idk if it's because I'm in my teenage or whether i have some mental issues.

@@JeyAnirudhJekka That's TOTALLY normal as a teenager. It's nothing to worry about. If you know you want to do college, but don't know for sure what you want to do as your career - just get a general associates while you think. To the girl who wants to become a paramedic: When I finished school I went straight to university and began to study law (school and university system is a little different in Germany compared to the US), then switched to International Business Studies but still wasn't happy with it, in fact, I could not have been more unhappy. So I sat down and really thought about what I want for myself and what I expect my life to be like and so decided to quit university and become a paramedic because it felt like the right thing for me. It was the absolute BEST decision I could have made for myself because I absolutely love this job with all my heart. Is it hard sometimes? Yes. Do you see things sometimes that could be traumatizing if not dealt with properly? Definetly. But as Dr. Mike already said, it is also highly rewarding and you'll have a lot of positive experiences as well. So if you feel like this is THE thing to do for you, just go for it and do not let anyone tell you something else!

Someone like you, with appropriate ethical standards, should indeed be confident in their medical knowledge. I love your channel because of your beautiful way to approach to your viewers, and for the unique and lovely person you are! You deserve this success - and more. As you're becoming more successful, just remember that some people don't like other people's success. Don't let that bother you or affect your self-confident. Keep focused (as you are) and let us all see how you and you're channel keep improving and reaching more success! ❤

I just want to share, my breast reduction changed my life. I went from a 36G (had to special order my bras) to a 34DD- my doctor removed half of my breast mass. I used to have back and neck pain daily, couldn’t sleep without a bra (painful!), couldn’t find clothing that fit my disproportionate body, and would receive gross remarks from male strangers. When I got my reduction at 21, every on of these things changed, it was like I was finally able to be myself. I am still busty, but I don’t have any more pain and my breasts aren’t the first thing you notice about me. I just wanted to share in case anyone else is considering the procedure, BEST THING I EVER DID!

never be afraid to reduce your breast size, ladies, especially if it's causing pain or preventing you from clapping .. I personally find a b or a barely c - cup to be the most pleasing to look at on most women, but also know that sometimes larger breasts come from natural growth - it's all about proportion - smaller breasts on petite women and slightly larger breasts on average-sized women with normal body fat .. you don't need to be an 80 lb "zero waist" boney skeleton runway walker and I'm not a fan of the "top heavy" look - I get turned off by implants, especially of they're "too large" for your body and make you look like a flotation device .. a little cleavage and a nice little pair of a melon balls is all that's needed to attract most men .. your face and your smile are far more important than the size of your titantic honkers ..

we had very similar experiences! i went from 36G to 36DD but I’ve been really focusing on working out & changing my diet, and have lost another 3” so far. My goal size was a C, and we just couldn’t make it happen through the op alone - even then, it was already so life changing. I can workout in comfort now, sleep on my back, no more upper back or trap pains. I feel so much less dysphoria in clothing and can actually look in the mirror now and feel more like myself 😭

Rarely does it happen 'between' ribs. Peace

The period question reminds me of when I was 8 or 9 years old and I started feeling lumps on my chest, that felt like wine corks. My mom and dad both felt my chest and didn’t know what it was. My mom took me to a gynecologyst and she explained that that was what growing breast tissue felt like and that it was a normal part of development. I guess most people din’t touch their breast at that age because I have yet to hear anything like this, but I’m glad that my parents took me to a medical professional and all of us were comforted that it wasn’t a disease or something.

My breast reduction, performed in December of 2009, was the best decision of my life... even WITH the horrifying consequences of necrosis on my left side. I had a breast reduction in December and it's the best thing I've ever done for myself!! My back pain and neck pain was gone 2 days after surgery!! I had begged doctors since I was 18 to refer me (medically covered in Canada), but they refused because I may want to breast feed... Um, is that not my choice?? I am 32 now, my son is adopted and 3 yrs old now, didn't breast feed... and what I wish for most was having my breasts smaller when he was a baby so I could have been more comfortable and truly hold him closer to me...

While I agree to an extent, it's implied that it's the reason they refused to refer her, which is ridiculous. Warning her she might be unable afterwards was fine, but denying her the option altogether was unfair. She was 18 and perfectly capable of deciding whether or not losing the ability to breastfeed were she to have children would be worth preventing future spinal issues.

3:55 My mother was a bit overweight, had stress due to raising a difficult family, and as the owner of a care home had constant work to do. She had sleep apnea for a couple years. Her symtoms and treatments weren't covered by insurance (this was over a decade ago) and eventually she passed in her sleep due to the condition. I was 14, my sis was 11. If you are worried about your sleep, please see a doctor. You spend about a third of your life asleep and sleep is like the 'charging' and resetting of your body, you need it. See a doctor and get it worked out... so much progress has been made in science since her.

I think this person has got the definition of procrastination wrong. First off, i do it all the time. And i need help too. But from the things I've researched, yeah onviously put your phone away and stuff like that . . . Stay in an appropriate environment. But some things I saw online - make a list with what you want to achieve. Of where you wanna get. And just think. You WANT to be a doctor. So you NEED to concentrate. Or tell a friend about it. You're so right! It took more than 15 years from my first doctor's visit about my unusual cycle symptoms for them to properly diagnose me with both PCOS and Endometriosis... that's a lot of years of pain and confusion! I had a miscarriage that could have been avoided if I had known I needed progesterone supplementation. I went through excruciating pain regularly and thought I was just wimpier than most women to dare to complain. I was literally told "all women experience discomfort... just take an Advil!" and that "Some women just have irregular cycles, there's no need to worry". It took 8 different doctors and more than 15 years before someone finally ordered an ultrasound to check and see if anything was wrong.

I can't give you advice for surgery, but I hope these tips will help in the short time: For sports try wearing a normal everyday bra (without padding and without wires in them) and on top of it a sport bra. The two different kind will help a lot in sports. The normal type will hold the weight, and the sport bra will not allow that much bounce. Additionally try wearing sport bra in a smaller size too, it will help reducing the bounce too. Wear it this way if you do more jumpy things, however do not wear double bra this way for too long or outside of sports, because after a while (for me two-three hours) it becomes very uncomfortable and the breasts can become kind of painful. But my back likes it much better :) Outside of sports: try to find some extra comfortable bras for wearing at home, even for some nights - tipically night bra wearing is not recommended, but it can help for the back pain. E.g. there are bras for breast feeding which are comfortable enough for night wear (not all of them are!), if you can find some. The important thing is that these bras should be without any wire or boning. Lasly you should start some back strengthening excercises, they will help a lot in time.

Work hard on both weight loss and muscle toning. Back shoulder muscles hold up the large breasts and need strength. The fat in your breasts will reduce somewhat with weight loss, and then when you get your breast reduction the extra skin and fat goes away. As a nurse I've seen young women get reductions but then after it's their fat belly that sticks way out. So as someone who has always had a large chest, I've told myself my belly has to be small enough before I'll get the breast reduction. So keep working on yourself.

Found your channel yesterday aaand... I have probably seen over 50 of your vids by now. I need some sleep. This is so entertaining, for me especially because I have always wanted to become a doctor, but was being pushed away from it by my all medical family (can't blame them, medicine is not in the best position in Russia now). Now I am 25 and miserable, maybe it is already a bit too late :D Ну и конечно, какой же Вы молодец! Однозначно подписываюсь :)

I think mama doctor jones made a video on this. I would also like to get more info on it, since it’s something I have too. Mostly it’s just been checking in with my OB/GYN to make sure everything is Gucci, but I just wonder what the long term outlook is depending on symptoms. My doctor basically said, when you’re ready to get pregnant, come back. Which feels reassuring but also a little unsettling since I don’t know much

My friend had the same complaint of rib popping and one day she woke up and her lung collapsed. Turns out she has a genetic condition that causes “bleps” to form in her lungs. The popping was actually the bleps (basically a blister) popping. This one was so bad that it blew a hole in the top of her lung and subsequently she had the top portion of her lung removed and was in the hospital for a week. Soooo go to the doctor!!
@lisayarnell474
@lisayarnell474 6 жыл бұрын
Destiny Reidel this terrifies me. I went to the ER for a “popping rib” cause it really hurt and they just felt around me for a moment, prescribed me some ibuprofen, and said I would be fine. Just said my organs were swollen but had no answer as to why. Took 2 weeks of being in pain and constant popping before it went away. It’s been a long time since then but it has happened since a couple times. What tests did they run to see what the popping was for your friend?
@destinyreidel
@destinyreidel 6 жыл бұрын
She was admitted to the ER with a collapsed lung (shortness of breath and pain) they tried to slowly inflate the lung and when it wouldn’t hold I think they assumed at that point it was the bleps. They had to do surgery to fix the hole in the top of her lung and when they did there diagnosis was confirmed. The doctor said it’s moderately common and there’s nothing she could have done to prevent it except maybe not smoking and knowing your family history since its usually genetic. My friend is adopted so she had no idea and she was a smoker before this. I wouldn’t worry too much, from what I’ve read it’s mostly dangerous to the elderly and the very young due to the lung collapsing and not being able to get to help.

About 13 years ago, my family stopped eating red meat. It was after my dad collapsed at our front door, coming home from work. The doctor told him he needed to change a few things, including excersice and diet. One big thing was he couldn't eat the fatty meats anymore, and over the years we have grown to love steaks, burgers, and sausages made from bison, deer, and elk. Although, those are eaten at special occasions and we don't eat a lot of meat at all, and most of the meat we do eat is fish and poultry.

@@AP-en5ve My problem really was that I didn't know how to manage my time effectively so I ended up falling behind and I felt that engineering is not for me. Also there were some really toxic teachers at my university (not all of them of course) as a resoult I had a huge breakdown. I decided I can't continue like this. I was seriously considering quitting. But as I was thinking it through I realised that I am still intrested in my studies. And I did not really had any alternatives in my mind either. So what I did that I've tried out different study methods. And as I can be really disorganised I've recorded every exam and assignment date and all of my study plans in a journal so I could stay on track. Slowly I started to get better in all of my classes but I still wasn't sure that this is for me. When I've garduated I ended up missing engineering that is how I know I still like it and want to continue and it's not just an interest. What I really did not like was those toxic teachers who ruined some of my classes and made us students feel miserable. And I could clearly see this after I've finished. I just graduated like a month ago and do not have a job can't look for one due to COVID xD. Also I've only finished Bsc and want to go on an msc course. Which I had to delay do to an illness but I'm ok now and I am at peace with this break. Sorry for the long answer and I hope it answered your question.

Hi HurricaneDeven! Although I know that Dr. Mike is a doctor but I’m actually an orthodontist so I thought I could also give you my two cents about the question you had. What Dr. Mike said was absolutely right! But I would also like to add that the best thing is to just wait it out. As pain is actually a good sign and that is how we know that the treatment is actually working. So while you might have to make a few adjustments in your diet while you’re undergoing the treatment, you should just look forward to being able to smile properly once your treatment is over.

I didn't have a period for 4 years after my first 2, went to the doctors a lot and they told me it was fine and probably my weight (I was quite thin) or exam stress. It came back when I left school and became less stressed as I wasn't dealing with exams. I also had breast growth which surprised me so much and was so oddly placed that I got an ultrasound for potential breast cancer, turns out it was fine and my body just had been so stressed and anxious (I have anxiety and didn't feel safe talking about my worries to my parents as they often got angry at me if I was upset) that my body just didn't grow all at once. I did have puberty in other ways though. Basically, young people can get very freaking stressed in exams so if anyone reading this is feeling anxious or stressed in school, it's very valid and don't let anyone tell you it's not real. Also find people who support you if your parents don't or can't. You deserve love and happiness 😊
