Thanks for sharing Micah! I totally agree with you on Splash Mountain. I used to love the promotional videos that you use to see on the promotional channels in the hotel rooms - always got me pumped to go to the parks. I am surprised that at Hollywood Studios they have not moved Star Tours to Galaxy’s Edge…. Guessing it would cost to much to do so but I would love to see an Indiana Jones dark ride in its place but I know that has been rumoured for Animal Kingdom as you mentioned, but I still think it would make more sense to have it at Hollywood Studios.

Here’s my prediction… Most likely they’ll update the last stage in the Carousel of Progress to be more futuristic. The father’s voice is currently Jean Shepherd. He passed away years ago. So they’ll have to update the father’s voice for the entire show. I think they may get Tom Hanks to do the new voice.

I basically agree with all your opinions... Micah I agree with you about all of the changes. But one place that really wouldn't bother me if they changed it to something else, is Tom Sawyer Island. I've been on it several times over my years to WDW and it's fine. But that is a valuable space that could be utilized into something else. I will miss Splash Mountain. I loved it. Unfortunately we are in the grips of a different mentality today than we used to be. I just hate that they seem to be getting their way with their whining.

I'm guessing that the new version of the little mermaid show will be similar to how they updated finding nemo the big blue and beyond. I don't work for them so what do I know ? What I do know is I'm all up for it and I'm super excited and I can't wait.

I want to know why Disney takes FOREVER to get anything done. Epcot ... 4 years ... and the results are very underwhelming. Tron ... 7 years from announcement to opening? The only thing they build quickly are easy money makers (i.e. hotels).

I hope some of the older attractions are left as they are. I will cry real tears if they ever decide to remove Carousel of Progress. Sure, the technology is a little clunky by today’s standards but that’s part of the charm. I hope they leave it alone. 🤞

Disney is still a fantastic place, overall, but it has become too big/busy and too commercialised. The vibe is different in the parks and resorts and the positive attitude amongst guests has deteriorated. Saying that, we all still go back as much as we can 😁

Changes are good. WDW has always changed. Is it always for the good? That is a different thing. e.g. EPCOT (in my opinion) has gotten worse/boring. But all the other parks have improved over the years! For sure Universal's expansions will "hurt" Disney!
