The Destiny community is easily one of the passionate and emotionally charged in gaming as a whole. We love aggressively, we share generously, we sherpa thoroughly, we get furious excessively, and we mourn so, so deeply. Ours is as welcoming as it is toxic, as hopeful and optimistic just as we are jaded and disappointed. Guardians are a great mighty pendulum that swings every which way, for better or for worse simply because that's what the game is. It's the most beautiful disaster of a AAA live service MMO that keeps on going as other titles rise and fall. I, for one, am happy that you decided to spend some time us.

That's sad because of the extremely toxic side it's alienated players. The people that have played with friends or are comfortable with playing with strangers in end game activities have plenty of good things to say about the experience but the people that don't have that feel like they are unwanted and they often get treated like a nuisance on public chats.

Real Warframe vets won’t talk badly about Destiny, as most of the real Warframe vets are also Destiny vets. The games are similar enough that they both cater to the same type of player. Not saying they’re the same. The two games just complement each other very well. When one is slow, the other seems to be in a good place. That’s a beautiful situation to be in.

I think there's one underrated thing about Destiny that many people don't bring up and it's the fact that nobody can really give you anything in the game. You have to all earn it yourself. I've seen so many content creators try out something like Warframe or Star citizen and next thing you know they get gifted crazy gear or they're in game billionaires in one week. But in Destiny you have to go out there and earn it all yourself, there is not trading or gifting in the game.

Great video! Keep the good content! Now go find a good team to do a raid! I personally recommend deep stone crypt to start. It have the best new player mechanics, everybody have to do something (don't cheese it). You need to find a good and respectable team that won't quit or rage, hop on a call and do it. I would even recommend to not jump in with a sheppard, but also don't struggle too much on the mechanics, if it's getting complicated go look for a guide, but figure out yourselves without someone explaining exactly what to do. Raids are by far the best content in destiny. You need team coordination and effort. Doing a raid day first is an incredible accomplishment, you have to prepare, find a good team and experience yourself when the next one launches, cuz it's a hell of a journey, it yes, will take many hours and frustation, but in the end it pays off. Keep on the good content it's being nice to watch you from time to time. Peace!

Welcome to the community man! Raiding in Destiny 2 is one of my favorite experiences! I agree with you that I hear the most complaints of "game boring/lame/bad" from the people with thousands of hours, lol. As far as sunsetting. At this point there are almost as many raids that are sunset and never to be seen again as there are in the game: 3 raid "lairs" that took place on the Leviathan plus "crown of sorrows" and "scourge of the past." Content that I paid for and enjoyed in the past is inaccessible, and that stinks. The pricing of all the expansions and dungeons is atrocious and practically makes the game impenetrable. I had a buddy buy a season to come back to the game thinking it included the dungeon. It didn't, and ultimately he was so frustrated trying to find a way to purchase the dungeon that he just peaced out. I think a lot of our frustration comes from seeing Bungie stick the landing hard (Witch Queen 🔥). We want to bring more people into the game, but when you get things like Lightfall or this new "episode" model, or the $$$ required to play the same content together, it makes it really hard to get people into the game.
@oCoy6365 күн бұрын
Thanks for your candidness, bro. I love D2, I play it all the time with friends. The ups and downs don't really get to me because I don't pay attention to community sentiment. If i went off community sentiment for games I wouldn't play any games, people love to complain.
@nitefall28862 күн бұрын
I am so glad you are enjoying destiny. There is the really dumb cultural war between between destiny and warframe. I favor destiny because the endgame is more engaging for me. But yeah if you end up really getting into destiny it is a time sink. Across platforms I have about 4.5k hours. One tip is if you need people for raiding there are unofficial discord servers that will give you a better experience than the in game lfg. It can also be hard to find people who will want to teach inexperienced players so it may take a bit to find that team, but once you do it is so worth it. Ultimately I recommend the raid you do first is the one that is the most appealing. But for beginner raiders and great loot I recommend deep stone crypt. Salvation’s Edge is by far the hardest to grasp so I would avoid that until you get some experience. Hope this helps!

Love the feedback. I am a vet but have given up the grind but some time do miss the fun I had. Our love and connection for Cayde is a D1 thing. Many of us grew up with him as well of watched a ton of the shows Nathan was in (firefly). I wish bungie could find a way to put the full story good and bad parts back in and allow all players to experience it all. Finally raids. There is nothing like it and once you have done a few your true addiction will begin. Keep grinding guardian. Bungie has good future plans and I think many of us will be back.

As a veteran player, it is interesting to hear somebody’s perspective that just jumped into the game. Shadowkeep was the first expansion they made after breaking away from Activision, so much of the playerbase gave them a pass. It did have some cool exotics though like Deathbringer, Eriana’s Vow, and Xenophage. Beyond Light was decent, but the raid was really good and the raid weapons were amazing. BL was also an Xbox Series X/S release title, so console players got the next gen update to 60/120 fps and fov changes a few weeks after release. Another cool thing I’ve always liked about D2 is that the world’s first completion of the raid opens up more of the world to the rest of the community. Most of the community is fantastic, but the toxic ones have the loudest voices unfortunately. I have almost 9500 hours in the game and I still love it to this day. I enjoy helping people beat content for the first time and seeing how happy they get from it. I hope you continue to have a great experience with this game.

After +3600 hours in Destiny I still haven't enough. once you begin to dive into the lore, you begin to see an incredible story. Byf made a 10 hour long video about it, that I like to rewatch/relisten every now and then just to remind me of how epic of a story this has become to over the last 10 years. the gameplay is still unmatched and the beaut of the worldbuilding still gets me and lets me sit down and just enjoy the sight. The newplayer experience sucks, we all agree on that. One does need someone to help getting into this game. But then again I tried replaying Warframe after playing it for a week or so and then not playing it for 5 years. I also was completely overwhelmed.

As someone who has played the game for 6 years seeing fresh blood joining the community is always super exciting and that's why I've been following your journey for the last couple of months, and seeing you getting excited from certain activities like campaigns, dungeons and soon raid literally makes me smile. Also I 100% agree that it can be really tiring hearing people who only talks about how bad the game is and shames on me for playing it like I'm some idiot. And most of these people has never even played the game, or only played it for like 2 hours. Great video man! I always love hearing about people getting into Destiny. When the game works, it REALLY works, I just wish Bungie did more with the amazing universe they have at their disposal. Also, 3:40 - I feel like this is the biggest turn off for new players. There's too much to do and no directions to do it all. For me at least, reintroducing the Red War campaign and having players complete it in one linear playthrough, like how Final Shape was, would a great way to introduce players to the universe and mechanics before opening the floodgates of junk we have all over the place. Edit: You're gonna love raids, there is NOTHING like experiencing a raid for the first time. I may not play Destiny as much as I used to, but I'll always be down for a raid.

I just love the game, I just have a hard time to recommend the game to other people, because of a few factors that are annoying to me cause of time spent. But I only give the warning of the Money investment for the Expansions and dungeon keys. So confusing and expensive to get a proper experience of the Destiny 2 experience. But you also see the light (heh). Gameplay is chef's kiss*. Now onto the raids :D

Thanks for trying the game despite what is being said about it. There are many problems but many solid things too.

I have been playing since the beginning and still love it. If i ever got burnt out on it i would just take a month or 2 off and when i got back on there would be new ish to do.

I think the a portion of the warframe community hated destiny because they were destiny players in the past and had a really really bad experience on D2 then transferred to warframe instead which they feel like they are being respected by the devs compared to D2. Personally D2 is a great FPS looter, not my preferred game but I still respect its strengths as a warframe 7000 hrs vet.

Both are great games, with their own strengths

to me as just an ordinary gamer who started way back playing ludo and snakes and ladders at christmas 70 odd years ago, a bloke whose lived through th entire journey of video games, i think i am qualified to sit in judgement on destiny, after years of Zelds, mario, wooden adventure games like tomb raider and the early ww2 sniper/battlegrounds/original call of duty, halo, destiny was abreath of fresh air. it was amazing, the weapons felt good, the scenery out of this world, movement was smooth, you could add to your chosen whatever to make it stronger. you actually had a goal to acheive that seemed never ending. destiny 2 just got better , in fact it was too good too warly and many assholes thought you could go beyond the ceiling and started to slag it off big time. many no brains followed them into the mediocer gaming world that no exists. unhappy souls. we who stayed the 10 long years lived the dream, life without desting no thank you. festiny is not a lazy kid/man/womans game , you have to work/think . that 100%is why gamers all over dislike destiny simpky because its too hard. great video son keep it up .

This game is brilliant, the Mechanics, Feel, Graphics, Weapons, Customisation, Activities, all of it is amazing. But this game is managed with such unbelievable ineptitude in Bungie that it sometimes just ruins the whole experience for me. Things like FOMO, Vaulting (Sunsetting Content), Unnecessary Game Balancing, Bugs and them rarely listening to user feedback make this game so unbearable. If a competent game studio took charge of Destiny 2 then this game would be in the stratosphere.

I've enjoyed watching your journey through your posted videos. You have a level head about this game and your judgements. What raid do you think you'll try to tackle first?

Im thinking VoG

@Q_Quicc Probably no better place to start than Destiny's first raid. Top three raid experiences, imo, are: Kings Fall, Last Wish, Vow of the Disciple, but Crota will forever be my favorite boss. Good luck out there, Cheers 🍻

Hey bro I’m glad you didn’t get discouraged by the negativity in the community. Hope you don’t regret your playtime in a couple months cause you’re talking like I was when it got its hooks into me 4k hours ago XD

as someone with 3k+ hours its pretty crazy to me that you say your 85% positive WITHOUT doing raids cuz to me raids and dungeons are the bread and butter of this game
@johnalbone301922 күн бұрын
Yeah. He might not touch another game for a while if he gets into raiding lol

With over 7500+ hrs in D2 I can't imagine starting D2 after a multi year break...All I do now is PvP and end game stuff.
@deadly_john26444 күн бұрын
I agree with you on a lot of this stuff, I don't know what's up with me, or if it's the game, but I just don't feel like playing this game at all anymore. Haven't played it for about a month or two, and I haven't played consistently for about a year.

I really hope you do all the raids and release order and don't go out of order. Because there's a story to be told if you do them all in order. If you go out of order it's just going to feel cattywampus

I really hope they bring back the vaulted raids from year 1 at some point so new players can try them out. Leviathan and Spire of Stars were very underrated
