I bought these for my 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500. I drive a lot of Ontario and Quebec back roads hauling an 8x16’ car hauler with a Miata Race Car. They’ve never let me down in regard to comfort and traction while hauling.

All those skinny sipes sold me on these tires. They're actually for ice. I never drive through snow in the winter. I'm usually driving on recently plowed roads with 1/2 inch compacted snow that's turned to ice!.

I have these on my 1st gen sequoia now which came with geolandars. I think these moto masters are the best bang for your buck. I agree with the road noise, it's quiet! But at the same time I do have a muffler delete lol. But it's definitely quieter in cabin than my exhaust manifold leak. Wet traction is phenomenal and winter traction is pretty good. I would definitely purchase another set when the time comes. Haven't really tested off road but does well in mud and gravel, even only in 2WD! Best bang for your buck I think!

Great video! The Eliminators are on my short list for my F150 Screw 4X2 truck. I mostly drive on the 400 series hwys where slush is more of a concern. Based on my experience, a true winter tire is superior for the first couple of years and then drop off. I'm willing to sacrifice some traction in the short term in exchange for more overall long term performance. Thank you!

I have bought a set of these for my 2009 3500 Express Single rear wheel cube van. Your review helped decide. I will try to comment once I have experience with them. I am getting the exact same tires. I'm really hoping they will be quiet and work in the snow. I will not likely take the van off road. But if I do anything stupid, hopefully they will keep me out of serious trouble.

I got these tires installed on my 2010 Tacoma with original 17" rims in March of 2022 (I still had the original tires). Compared to the original tires from Toyota, they are "slightly" noisier but it's negligible because, like you said in the video, the originals are crapy especially in Winter. On a previous '89 GMC S10, I installed BF All Terrain tires and those were noticeably noisier than the originals. I only have 78,000kms on my Tacoma so these new tires will last until I decide to get a new vehicle so longevity wasn't a big factor. Overall I would certainly recommend them for the price and overall quality. (keep in mind though that the "design" is from Cooper but the rubber is Canadian Tire, there is a difference. My uncle worked at a tire plant and saw the difference in rubber between Motomaster and BF but that was 2 decades ago)

I just picked up a set of these (LT265/70/17) E rated. Did you have the same size? What PSI did you run these at? The shop who installed mine set them at 32psi.
@yvongauthier4409 Жыл бұрын
@@michaeldyer5548 Mine are 265/65/17 and I inflate them close to the recommended 29psi. I say close because right now it's getting colder outside so I tend to go a few pounds higher because the psi will go down as we get into Winter where I've seen -38C/-36F
@michaeldyer5548 Жыл бұрын
@@yvongauthier4409Thanks for your feedback, I’m in Thunder Bay Ontario, where we see some very cold weather as well… although maybe not as cold as you’ve described. I think I will leave them at 32PSI for the winter then. Are/were yours the same E-rated LT designated 265/70/17 tire? Did you play with the inflation at all to try to get better mileage?
@yvongauthier4409 Жыл бұрын
@@michaeldyer5548 I'm in Sturgeon Falls, an hour East of Sudbury. You must get the -38c if not lower? It doesn't last long, like a few days. The average though will range from -10 to -20. I put a front hitch on my Tacoma and in the Winter I plow with a "SNOWSPORT" snowplow. It's a basic no frills plow that I can take completely off in 2 minutes. There are no LT or P letters before the 265 so i imagine they're LT and after these numbers 265/65/17 it says 112T standard load. I haven't played with the tire pressure for mileage as I really don't do a lot of km. I bought my Tacoma new in 2010 and I only have 82,000 km on it!

I miss my Cooper Discoverer M+S studded winters. They discontinued the and the replacement gets horrible reviews. I had to settle with a set of Nokian Hakka 10 SUV studded this year and i was so disapointed with their performance after years of using my Cooper Discoverers. Those old Coopers were amazing, i very rarely needed to lock my 4Runner into 4wd and the level on confidence they gave when driving through the nastiest of weather was very high. The studs on the new Nokians are hardly even noticeable other than the noise. They've given me more rear wheel spin when driving through very tame snowy dirt road conditions then I've ever experienced in my years of driving a 4Runner. I'm eyeing these Motomaster Eliminators for my 3 season tires this year. It's hard to decide at times, the Nokians are ranked one of the best winter tires and I found them rather crap. I guess if you have never experienced ultimate traction like the old Coopers gave you just don't know, kinda like people who've never owned a Toyota and don't understand the hype.

I think it's safe to consider this an "all-season" tire that happens to perform really well in the winter. So far they've been great in the warm weather. A winter tire would wear out quickly in these conditions so the fact that they're rated for high mileage should offer some peace of mind

Tires designated as a WINTER TIRE have been made with a softer material however, with the new computer generated tread designs they are supposedly able to withstand warmer temperatures and still deliver great winter weather capability. But, I am still skeptical at this point and have decided to wait and see what happens with the guinea pigs that just have to have the so-called latest and greatest of whatever comes out.
