Thank you for standing by Roseanne - I have so much respect for her - she reshaped the idea of what an American family was- I grew up very poor and I remember an episode of her show where she put her bills on a lazy Susan and spun it around to see which bill she would pay because she couldn’t afford to pay all of them and it made me feel like there were other families who were going through the same things that my family was going through and that was really meaningful to me

(Mark’s roommate was watching it when Roseanne was visiting. “So THAT’S what happened to the guy from CHiPs!” 😂) It was refreshing to watch a family on tv go through some of the same struggles we go through.

If you read Roseanne’s first ever biography, like decades ago. She recounts a tale where the producers tried to take her identity away from her. The show was a huge success, and they tried to remove her from it, like they did with Tim Allen in Home Improvements. She held on and John Goodman stood up for her. And that irked them. So they waited for their strike back. And they are willing to wait. Roseanne is a woman who created a timeless legendary character and that made those boys mad. And they will strike again and again. She needs to write another sitcom. Get it produced out of the USA, maybe Canada or Mexico, cast it with some good moral trustworthy people, and sell it to Netflix. Keep it away from their grubby hands.

The analogy doesn’t really make sense. You can record yourself saying anything with a camera just like you can write anything on paper. KZbin is the platform. A more accurate comparison would be a newspaper

​@@docd2295 Yes, a totally unbiased scientist that's critical of the government that pays him, carefully watches every single video on KZbin and makes fair estimates and reports about all the possible interpretations of it's content, and then he sends a complete documentation of his work to multiple independent colleagues who then carefully dissect his work and try to figure out if it's correct. Afterwards they all attend a series of online conferences together where they compare their findings, and subsequently an independent jury of a multitude of other scientists and artists of all sexual and racial backgrounds possible, from all of the earths countries, hold another series of conferences where they lay out their opinion about all of this, and as a result they write up a concise recommendation to KZbin, if the video should be taken down or not, and why. This is obviously being done with every single video that's posted on KZbin, and hence it's all the more of a difficult task that we should respect, and better give KZbin a break instead of criticising them when in 'very rare' (TM) instances they reach a decision that's maybe slightly suboptimal, but sooner or later gets corrected anyway, when 'science on the matter changes'. Jokes aside though, the censorship system consists of people aided by filtering algorithms, but who cares. It's obvious political censorship, that is the essence of what's going on, that is what matters. A sad state of affairs, but at least we can see where we are. Dude your paper analogy is genius. A blank peice of paper is an empty canvas for an artist to create something beautiful. Imagining a piece of paper somehow saying what colors you can use to make a picture with, or removing your words as you right them, is in a way terrifying. KZbin is like a canvas for a a lot of creators and if they let themselves just be that thing it(the blank paper) it would be a much more enjoyed and loved platform. I think that's what this boils down to more than the "hate speech." The edgiest jokes told on this episode are nothing compared to some other podcasts and comedy specials still posted. The overall point of not being able to reach a Human to have a discussion is very valid. It happens on KZbin..it happens on Ebay..it happens on many platforms. It's going to get worse as AI takes over. It's called Critical Thinking and computers will never be able to do it. Recently many people have lost their Medicare and Medicaid. They were directed through email that they have to reapply. There are people who simply can't use a computer. I remember when it happened my friend called and said "People are going to die." If you don't have an advocate or you can't reach a real person to help you. It can be disastrous.
