Don't forget that being a KZbinr is very similar to running your own business. You should upload things people want to see, just like businessman should offer product/service that people need. And when the growth becomes real, you can consider hiring people to help you run your channel more efficiently. The most difficult part is starting and growing of course, but consistency and hard work (with a little bit of Famester of course to help) will always pay off at the end. Good luck to everybody, we will all succeed one day!!

The link between the "KZbin Quitters" mentioned in the video is their heavy dependence on KZbin metrics (thus on sponsors and metric-related income sources), or I noticed some merchandise like t-shirts... If you're not capturing your audience, fostering a relationship with them beyond the platform, and offering concrete products or services that "improve their quality of life... then you're destined to depend on "selling time," and indeed, that's a challenging lifestyle, which is why numerous entertainment KZbinrs end up completely burnt out...

I don’t get all the hate for creators who are speaking up about the truth of being a full time content creator. We are not complaining, just being honest what’s actually like. Pretending your life is perfect = people say you’re fake. Saying it isn’t perfect = you shouldn’t be ‘complaining’. You can never do it right 😩 anyway, thank you for making this video and explaining so clearly

One thing I think helps, is creating a backlog of videos, so maybe you shoot 3 vids a week and then you upload 1 every week. The other 2 you can have as a backlog and you can schedule uploads, do this every week and you'll have a huge backlog, and so when you want to take a break, you know you have the content to cover that break.

Nice to hear someone being real about it being 24-7, stress, responsibility to take care of team, constantly creating, etc. I felt burnt out designing for Kanye West, Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, etc. I studied the science of happiness from Laurie Santos which was Yale's most popular class. She said if the doctor said you have 2 weeks left to live- how would you spend your last days? Helped me focus to align myself with what's really important.

I think the answer is simple, people want to quit because KZbin isn't as much of a "dream" job as people think it is. It's something that is that head definition of "the grass is always greener on the other side". People think you just sit and talk for a few minutes and quickly edit and move on but the reality is very few KZbinrs do this and even then it's only the people who have massive teams or have fans that are fine with that style of content.

One of the things we always keep in mind, especially during our downs is the why we do YT, and this is the thing we emphasize when we mentor someone to do YT. We ask them over and over again why they want to do this. You need that one thing that would bring you back to right place, the one thing that anchors you and reminds you your original and true goal. What I take away from this video is the importance of creating constrains that helps you protect the life you want to live. Thanks Ali!

Brilliantly timed video with many people quitting, but so many more still wanting to start. A big part of the burnout I've seen is related to people niching down too much to an unsustainable topic -- like you mentioned with productivity. The people I've seen still succeeding have built their audience around them as a person, allowing them to grow and evolve together. Love the distillation of learnings from people that have quit! It's so important to pay attention to how we're feeling as creators to make sure we're still having fun with it :)

How many people do I know who are getting lost as they quit their job to launch their own trade, but who are so exhausted and lost the fun and the initial goal they had... I never wanted to launch a Ytb channel neither starting my own business to make a living but what I love about your videos is that it gives me a lot to think about choices. Trying to be more aligned with what I want, why, and how. In the end I won't remember all the Ytb videos I've watched during my whole lifetime but when I decide to watch something, even if the algorithm plays a key role in here, I know why, and listing to some good words is a way to "keep the music inside me to continue to dance my life"

I'm a retired teacher, and the January before I retired, I started putting out instructional videos on KZbin. At first I was concerned about views, and some were phenomenal, but of course the algorithm changed. I find I do get depressed/concerned about views and all that. I'm not near earning money yet. But a friend said, just offhand talking about my channel, "What you do is a service." That took me aback. And I realized that if I look at it that way, it's not quite so important that I do make money or get thousands of views. And hearing your emphasis on the idea of service really brought that back to the fore.

Hello Ali... We (a team of two) are 'Sapien Pulse' a youtube channel with a purpose of bringing net positivity into this world (with our content). It started an year ago and you played a major role in starting our channel. A video you made asking to start a youtube channel (instead of thinking to create one) inspired us... After an year again, we deeply resonate with your thoughts. You inspired us again to stay grounded. To enjoy the process. To not worry about views and fame. To be creative. To not get depressed with subs. To wither the storm and yet somehow find a way to enjoy the darkness of the seas. We will apply these principles in our youtube journey. 4 years down the line, when we become famous we will remember of the service and purpose of our channel. Thanks again for motivating us. Wish you the best Ali Best Regards Sapien Pulse

ive been a fan of your KZbin channel and the contents that you are creating for a while now. Today I finally have the courage to speak out that you are one of the reasons I believe in humanity and kindness; especially, when you mentioned that you are doing this KZbin channel for the people who are watching this to experience maybe life-changing moments, you are giving a form of service to the community. And for that, I really appreciate you as a content cretor and a human being. I wish this KZbin channel and you yourself all the best.

KZbin awhile back for many of the reasons you mentioned, and the time away helped me to come to the realizations you mentioned here. Since returning last year, I’ve let go of worrying about views, and only focus on serving and giving whatever is on my heart. Your 5 intention statements are beautiful. Thank you for this video ❤

I love your videos, and I have learned a lot from you through out the years. I always appreciate your longer videos. I just feel like I get a lot out of them. Swapping out the order of establishing your lifestyle, and then your goals is really eye-opening. I’m a real estate agent and goals are always heavily pushed, while lifestyle is often not thought about as something you can control until you’re well established in the business.

Thank you Ali for your sharing. Really appreciate it. I actually just started making contents to share my messages on youtube. The 5 phrases/affirmations that you shared before you making a video is very valuable to me. I guess, we have to always remind ourselves what's the initial intention/goals, tap into our higher self to serve for purpose 🙏

This video has successfully pulled me back into the world of productivity videos! I had been consciously avoiding them to focus on actually being productive, but it`s just way to nice to listen to Ali talking :)

Every time come to Ali channel, I learn something new beyond productivity. What I mean is that even if the topic is related to a specific aspect of view, I always have a takeaway to apply to my own thoughts or projects. Excellent content; keep going. You are in the right direction Ali.

I'm really glad you're going a different direction with your future videos. I for one am sick and tired of the trendy, overly-optimized, KZbin videos are so stale and they all just kind of blend together. It's almost as if all the "creativity" has been sucked out of KZbinrs and now it's just SEO regurgitated click-bait. I am definitely looking forward to more videos with your unique style, deadlines be damned!

I really love these long chatty videos of yours, Ali. It always strikes me that, although what you are talking about doesn't relate to my life at all on the surface, there is always something valuable I can apply. In this case, I loved the part about the goose and the golden egg and am now thinking that I need to remember to take care of my 'inner goose' in order be able to continue doing and enjoying everything I want to do in life. Thank you :)

Hi Ali, I know it was random video (?) but I'd love a part 2 on the piano. I have never seen anyone break it down like that. Breaking it down into levels helped so much (I'm still working on the last 2!). Thanks so much, Don't forget your impact even if the views are small!

What a great analogy...the goose and golden eggs. Loved it. As a small channel I don't have the same "business" problems, but it does all fall on my shoulders to keep on making content. You are so right about enjoying the process. Luckily right now I LOVE making videos. Long may that feeling last.❤
