I’m not huge into Pink Floyd, but I love one song - Vegetable Man. Also from Syd Barett era. Savatage is so underrated. My favorite song of theirs is Taunting Cobras. It has almost swing-like melody, with nice tempo changes. Still have no idea what the lyrics are supposed to mean. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is my favourite Pink Floyd album -- sure they have some mind blowing sonic experiences elsewhere, but this album lacks any single song that makes me feel urged to press 'skip'. Hot Rats is the same way! Never listened to any of the other albums, though; thank you for the introduction, Farvann! There was a time, when Cryptopsy was on a gig in Montréal to release their new album And Then You'll Beg in 2000, I was at that show. It started with Unexpect (an Black Metal/Avant-Garde Metal band in the close vein of Arcturus). Unexpect started the show with a cover of Legend of Zelda - Overworld Theme. Everybody raved at it. After Unexpect, it was the turn to Quo Vadis (Techniqual Death Metal in the close vein of Carcass and Death). A solid Techniqual Death Metal band, Legion of The Betrayed deserves a listening. The 3rd band that night was Cryptopsy. I was in the mosh pit at the beginning and, because I was working in a factory that time (Spectra Premium) and I got really tired. I spotted an empty table at the 1st floor (Le Medley venue) and took a nap... during Cryptopsy's representation. I slept at least 20mins. One time at the show, there was no more death metal playing and I woke up that time. Cryptopsy was playing some tibetan traditionnal instrument I guess... it was a very long "trumpet". Then, I looked around and I saw an another guy who was just woking up from his nap on the next table. We were like "Where is the death metal? Where are the nursering rythms that brought us to sleep?"

Honestly I usually go to metal for cool riffs. Speed and intensity for me is hardcore punk. If I want both I listen to crust punk, specifically the thrashier stuff like Effigy or S.D.S. although a band like Cryptopsy also scratches that itch in a different way

We're talking about music made it by a person with mental illness, with a "weird" perception of reality, and this detail makes the album unique) 4-Reverend Horton Heat: The full custom gospel sounds (As a rockabilly and psychobilly fan and as a double bass player this is pure gold) 5-Boards of Canada: Geogaddi 6-Einstürzende Neubauten: Alles wieder offen 7-Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: Skeleton tree (this one can be very hard to listen to...) 8- Dinosaur Jr: You're leaving all over me (these dudes were making grunge before grunge was even a thing) 9-Red Hot Chili Peppers: Blood Sugar Sex Magic (It's all about the funky groove) 10- Coheed and Cambria: In keeping secrets of Silent Earth:3 (these dudes love progressive rock but they're still still stuck in their emo phase... I agree that Whisper Supremacy is an incredibly underrated album and it doesn't deserve to be hated just beacuse lord worm doesn't sing in it beacuse Mike DiSalvo does an incredible job. I mean the first time I heard Emaciate my head was just bashed unrelentingly. And Cold Hate Warm Blood is probably one of the best Cryptopsy tracks and balances brutality with melody so perfectly. None so vile is still my favourite one by them but this is easily second. Not taking anything away from my boy Blasphemy Made Flesh but I just enjoy those two more.

my favorite Nile album is Black Seeds of Vengeance, especially To Dream of Ur. Pink Floyd - Piper At the Gates of Dawn is great, my favorite songs are Matilda Mother, and Bike because he sounds like a total nut case on the song Bike. Deeds of Flesh - Trading Pieces is something that I can listen to over and over. Sirens a great song and album . Cesspool of Vermin is great. Schizophrenia is my favorite Sepultura album, especially In the Past Reborns the Storms . Joe's Garage by Frank Zappa has some Heavy songs, but Dancing Fool and Valley Girl will always be my favorite Zappa songs. I just prefer his hits, I'm not a Trve Kvlt Zappa fan, but I am a Gatekeeper of the non Black Metal band Beherit

Here are some of my favourite albums (random order): 1. Tarja Turunen - Colours in the Dark (2013). I am no fan of Tarja's solo career, but this album is legit awesome. And the artwork is amazing. 2. Genesis - Selling England by the Pound (1973) Not a fan of Genesis, but when I heard this album I knew I would revisit it. 3. Uriah Heep - Demons & Wizards (1972) I had the chance to buy this album and it makes me sad I didn't. 4. Blackmore's Night - Ghost of a Rose (2003) Some good Medieval Folk Rock here. 5. Blind Guardian - Beyond the Red Mirror (2015) Didn't appreciate it at first, but now it's one of my favourites 6. Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow (1975) I have a soft spot for the first three Rainbow albums. Their first one is the best in my opinion.
