Mad respect for your use of this space, I hope the ventilation in that room is adequate. Also props to your team for using an air tower cooler, they are so under utilized these days by everyone trying to beautify their rig with looks over function, AIO's are a disposable technology.

Ventilation is a bit of an issue, hence we keep the door open 98% of the time or the window :)

@@theTechNoticeI guess that's kind of like leaving the side panel off a case :) I have a quick question about the X870E Taichi, do you know if using a 7950x3d in the board would allow for the 8000ish MHz ram?

@@theTechNoticeWould be interesting to try to do what Linus, from LTT, does with his home setup. Where the main computers are setup in another room and you run your displays and I/O over Thunderbolt. It's pricey since it'll need to be fiber optic cables, but it'll definitely help declutter the space but mainly getting rid of the 2 big heat generators in the room.

I use the same monitor arrangement. Main monitor has a fullscreen editor (IDE, Illustrator, Photoshop, Fusion, etc.); left monitor has a fullscreen browser for documentation; right monitor has some Windows Explorer and terminal windows. This arrangement has more real estate than a widescreen monitor and keeps the applications nicely segragated. My tower is on the floor under the desk to maximize desk space and to provide easy access to its USB ports, which are on its top panel.

Great to see the editing area! What are the temperatures and air quality like in there? I'm also a fan of having vertical additional monitors for bins, browsers etc while editing - just seems more versatile than multiple screens landscape mode!

Maybe I missed it but DAMN. What do you to keep the room well ventilated? Having 2 high end PC's going at it and 2 people in such a small room makes it seem like it'll heat up quickly and possibly smelly. Do you leave the window and/or door open all the time? Do you have an AC that keeps the room cool enough? No awkward cold spots? That's my biggest question right now.

Hi Technotice! Would you be open to making a video showcasing the overclockability of the 285K's Ecores? Apparently they easily go past 5ghz and even up to 5.2ghz. Let's say if you were to set all the P cores to 5.4/5.2 and Ecores at 5ghz/ 5.1ghz. I am very curious to see what sort of gains you would get on creator applications such as After Effects and Cinebench.

If you do color correction, a (second) proper monitor is never a "waste of money" as you said. In fact, it is essential. But considering that your equipment is mostly a gamer's gear and not professional, this statement is more or less expected.

Nice setting well managed space.....But that Asus Proart Z790-Creator Motherboard does something Funky, I will just turn on my computer and all my USB-C specifically Thunderbolt4 ones will stop working, I will have to restart for it to work again. I even went ahead and bought a Thunderbolt dock so that I don't bother the port at the back of the PC directly anymore, but it's still behaves the same. Gigabyte motherboard has never did that to me ever!. I saw your Review on the ProArt Z790 creator motherboard and I liked the the I/Os and Free Adobe Premiere 3 months Free Subscription, I bought the ProArt motherboard for AMD and Intel both have the same issues. I wonder if yours does the same.

I don't get why people like big computers on the desktop. Sure, RGB bling looks good on video, but not only the sound, it just clutters the hell out of the desktop. That room is a tiny space and with all that stuff on the desk it makes it feel even smaller. If you're worried about the wires, I have a standing desk as well and I just mounted it to the underside on one end.
@VTOLfreak21 күн бұрын
Agreed. This would be a perfect use case for something like Parsec. (Which supports 4:4:4 10bit color for graphics work) Get the workstations (and NAS) out of that room and put them somewhere else in the house. Then all you need on your desk is a mini pc to remote into the workstation.
@rogerhuston828721 күн бұрын
@@VTOLfreak - My point was not going that far. I've used Parsec, but I wouldn't want to spend 8 hrs+ a day in front of it. My suggestion is to simply take the big boxes and NAS off the desk and put them on the floor. The room is small enough, don't make it any smaller.

if you ever want to go Mac for video editing you could save lots of table space get rid of that huge box pc for an M4 Max Mac Studio. or the M4 Mac mini with the M4 pro chip.

Why don’t you just use a maxed out Mac Studio or MacBook Pro, you edit while watching tv and less heat. Surprise you build super workstations and great stuff I was expecting 4 GPU workstations but it’s cool it’s just “humble” it work’s attitude nice I’ve use 2 3050 and average 15 minutes render on 4K gameplay and you recommend for some previous video, the 3050.
