I just got back from 4 days at the fringe seeing 6 shows a day and can relate to so much of this! Running across the city, scoffing down street food, missing a show, spontaneous shows… it is an epic experience I’d recommend to all!

It was me you met outside Lottie Platchett and you're right I was there for Lauren Lopez 😂Thanks for saying hi and making sure I was in the right queue! I'm so glad you both loved My Son's A Queer - It's the highlight of my Fringe for sure and I think even of all the shows I've seen all year!! Blanket Ban was such an impactful piece of theatre too.

For when you go back next year and to avoid running out of breath going up the Mound, you could've just gone along Princes Street to Lothian Road and the Trav is just up Lothian Road a bit- much easier than going up the Mound and via Grassmarket

I was thinking do I care? And then I saw that there are two Buffy themed shows - and suddenly it's like ....ok now I'm interested.

What a lovely summary of your time in Edinburgh! Can’t wait for your reviews of all the shows you saw, especially Happy Meal and Rob Madge’s solo show. Extremely jealous of those amazing ice creams and just going to get myself a sad freezer ice cream to slightly console myself 😅❤️

We were there same week as you ... but we only managed 13 shows in 4 days. How you did over 30 has amazed me and I bow down to you! Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Ok, I have to say I was exhausted just watching the two of you running around btwn shows, giving us a blow by blow account of what we’re going to see or what you just saw and vlogging for 6 days. It looked like you were running a marathon. I have to ask how you both were able to keep a cheery demeanor the whole time especially when you signed off every night with satisfied smiles on your faces? When I was in NYC for 4 days at the end of June I was happy to get one museum in during the day and a Broadway show in at night. That was taxing enough for me. In fact my hotel was right in the center of the theater district on 44th btwn Times Sq and 7th Ave so I didn’t have far to walk. I am so looking forward to your in-depth review of all the plays you saw at the Fringe. I hope you’ve somehow recovered and rested up. Again, truly enjoyed this vlog. Stay well. 👍🙏😎

I live and work in Edinburgh. I promise you, the streets are full of people here for the Fringe.

Oh I'm sure! But am I crazy or is it less this year? In a normal Fringe I wouldn't even attempt the Geogre IV Bridge around the Greyfriars Bobby statue but this year it seemed more manageable?
@alongstorycutshort2 жыл бұрын
@@MickeyJoTheatre I think definitely less than pre-pandemic years... but my reaction is utterly compounded by the fact I'm commuting into new town every day 😅. I feel like the crowds are more concentrated around certain hubs of activity this year. There's less of a city-wide surge but in specific areas it's still mad.
@HelenRosemarySmith2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! Definitely concentrated around the centre but it's way busier than otherwise. I actually love it, especially as this year given it's the first year back after lockdown.

If I feel like something is worth a something & a half star review, I always err on the side of kindness & round up. Does that make me too nice? 😂

The best dramas or shows that are serious always have a little comedy,IMO. You need the lightness with the dark.
