Cheating is very exciting. The emotional range is very rewarding. She goes from extreme euphoria to begging in a matter of minutes and I'll bet she still doesn't get it , and feels like a victim for getting caught. People shouldn't get married anymore. Its a catalyst for devastation.

Definitely NOT a jerk. He manipulated the situation yes, and masterfully at that, but in today's time with the way that the divorce courts and family court systems work, they always always go with the woman. She would have been able to take away everything had he not manipulated her and we as men all know it! You can lambast him for not forgiving her but you cannot fault him for how he manipulated the system to work in his favor in the courts because we've seen far too many fathers being broken and destroyed to the point of suicide or death from over dose or death from exposure due to homelessness because some heifer who couldn't keep her pants on decided he wasn't good enough!

The sad part of the divorce story is if he wouldn't have caught her in the act and had a premeditated plan, she would have got the kids, the house, the child support and he would have worked his butt off in order for her to have all of these things while he didn't do anything to deserve that treatment.

I pulled a similar situation with the ex wife. TLDR: She wanted to be "poly" after her brother moved in (because he was very risky in his lifestyle choices). So she started hanging out with some poly friends. Next thing I knew, she wanted to go spend a "weekend with friends", the same ones. I go to the store while she's gone, see her getting out of the backseat of their car, with another dude sitting back there (a dude she had to the house previously at 3am and I caught). She came home to find divorce papers and me with a trailer ready to move halfway across the state. She cried, begged, pleaded "Please I'm your wife you HAVE to take me". Knowing full well she wouldn't make it in a 28 ft trailer with me and the kids, I said fine....get in the car. I had property lined up across the state to put the trailer on, and the plans to eventually build so no big deal. Because she went with, I didn't want her to know that, so we moved the trailer to a trailer park. She made it less than 2 weeks and she KIDNAPPED my son and held him up at the neighbor's trailer. The neighbor wouldn't let me anywhere near, waving a 9mm around. One call to the sheriff and the custody papers in hand, I got my kid. Put her in the car, drove her back to the home town. Finished filing the papers through the mail, lived like a king over there. Not even 3 weeks after she had moved back home, she ended up moving in with 5 guys in total, got pregnant, had no clue who the father was and tried blaming me for it. NOPE.jpg. She now lives in her mother's basement, with 2 kids, no clue who either of the fathers are. I'm in the process of finalizing my first home purchase. My own kid, just knows "mom wasn't ready to be a mom yet, I'm sorry". Best part was, when she kidnapped my son....I called HER MOTHER and let her know that her daughter was about to be arrested for kidnapping. Moral of the story.....men, you have EVERY RIGHT to stand up for yourself. First time I've ever stated my story, and I hope it inspires somebody in a bad way. :)

I mean if you were to destroy someones life, frame them for a crime, and get them constantly beaten up in prison, all over a 1 night stand(and literally nothing else) then ya, it's too far. The _ONLY_ part I feel was too far was the "Leaving the search bar with it filled out", though personally I think a "I broke down crying because I hated lying to them that everything was alright" would have been more fair.

This is a subject of discussion if he would en up in a cardboard box, he was armed to teeth with proofs of her infidelity, he could make a legal deal out of it, so she would pay him support and let live with kids, but he deliberately disclosed her in spite, that's why i think he may never become sated, dedicating yourself to drag revenge eternally is a waste of life, he needs some help or he may waste himself. Story 1: I have been personally subject to having parents that manipulated their children to turn on their parents. Funnily enough, the men never played that game, it was the women attached to them. I got to watch it unfold while I sat on the couch with my dad, step-father, and one my mom's exes going, "This is dumb." All of us stayed out of the fights, the arguments and general garbage but my poor siblings got caught in the mess, turning on one parent or another and sometimes the other siblings. I appreciate my fathers, I'm even friends with the ex and my now widowed step-father. While the cheating wife got her rear whooped and rightfully so, CHILDREN ARE OFF LIMITS! I actually despise the OP for this, it's not fair for the children to be manipulated in this way.

@@persephonegreen199x6, there are things he could have done that didn't involve intentionally leaking deforming information to his children. Rather than leaking the information, all he had to do was serve her with custody papers, show the evidence that the mother was the one who damaged the household, and he more than likely would have been granted sole custody. Now, depending on the age of the children involved, their voices do matter to an extent as to which parent they want to live with, but in this case because the father is actively providing care for the family while the wife was having a fling, the children's opinion would matter very little. (Been through a couple myself as a child if you haven't guessed)

With the laws and courts, this was probably the only "safe route". He was in the right to get the children in his custody etc. His heart may have been tarnished by it, but nevertheless it was right for everybody in the circumstances. She started it all and thanks to him she got the chance to do her penance and he in turn got to become a stronger man and perhaps in time purify his heart from the hate and bitterness which was understandable. But I too question, was the story _really_ true?

So instead of opening up to her husband letting him know she wanted to spice things up & get more attention from him she instead looked for it somewhere else aka in & old familiar hometown ex. Relationships are work you have to put in effort to keep the love flower blooming. I tell my husband I love him (&he me) several times a day & also how very grateful I am to have him. We listen to & ask each other about our days, help out & care for one another more than we do ourselves & make sure to always make time for intimacy. Which has only gotten spicier!

The HOA thing was brilliant. Depending on how long ago this was $750.00 wasn't enough. I would have wanted jail time as well. In fact, I hope they faced even more damages for the fraud. The tree part would have had me absolutely irate! The divorce story is rather sad. I have a problem with three parts. 1) The way he manipulated the kids. They had every right to know but that is going to damage them and their understanding of love and marriage. I don't know of a good way to tell something like this to kids but I don't like the way he did it. 2) That he cut down to half time in order to make the ex pay more in support. I can see him needing to cut back to half time for a period of up to a year but no more than that and not for the purpose of making her pay more but so that he could move on and help the kids adjust. Dwelling on hurt feelings only leads to magnifying them. 3) That he continued to lead her on even having her over for frisky adventures in bed. He should move on and allow her to do the same.

As a victim of this myself, I still think it's terribly sad how we have progressed in life. It still hurts to have lost my marriage, I wish she would henge stayed loyal and now that the golden years are knocking on my door I still think of how it was supposed to have been. BUT life is what it is. I fought for and got custody, the house and a little child support. The baby was 4 months old and I became her sole parent. Daddy and daughter began our new bizzare but special life together. My daughter was to little to understand and I just told her mommy was sick and had to go away. When she was about 6 she figured it out, Mom didn't want to be with her and that's her choice. Little did I know, a year later this little girl would figure out how to Email and get her mother's address. Oh boy did she let mama have it! I get an email from the ex telling me I'm an ahole and to quite playing games. It had been over 6 years, I had not communicated with her in that time. I told her, but she didn't believe me. I asked my daughter about the email, she denied it. But I knew my daughter and knew she was lying. I almost had to laugh. I told her, you can say anything you want to your mother. It's your relationship and I'm not protecting her from you. But I dont want to get blammed for it. Lol. She confessed and then we had a talk about feelings and how maybe she could learn to forgive her mother when she was ready. I told her Its all her choice and she could say what she wanted, so long as we dont get a restraining order. Lol. Today my daughter is grown, she has a so so relationship with mama. But we are as close as every and if I don't get home enough, she gets angry with me. This guy did nothing wrong. He to was the victim of todays society. Im sure he wished this never happened. But it did and if he didn't protect himself he would be crucified! The messages the daughter saw? If the system was fair, I would say it was inappropriate, but the way it is, Dads need proof to rebutt the anti male system we have. So no, he wasn't wrong.

The first story, I'm kind of torn on the issue with the kids, but I really don't care for the way it sounds like he gets his ex to have sex with him by feeding her hopes of getting back with him. So, I would put it as "NTA for the specific situation" ( I mean, duh, she cheated on him) but, he is *an* A-hole for other things.

Agreed, though I feel like he deserves to enjoy the same benefits of being an asshole, that the man she cheated on him with did. Sometimes people can be assholes, but we don't blame them for being assholes. Just as long as his experience doesn't make him a true asshole, and have him become a cheater in any future relationships like she was or try n do to another man what was done to him. As long as he's only an asshole to his deserving ex, it's understandable.

I mean, he already knows she's a slut. She chose sex over her loving husband and family. She literally got off on the idea of cucking her loving husband with another man. So if she wants to be a slut, if sex is so much more important than her own family, then why shouldn't he enjoy her the same way the other man did? It's literally her own fault, she has nobody to blame but herself, and it's entirely up to him to decide when she's been punished enough.

Damn near exact situation occurred to my father. My mom cheated on my dad they got seperated took 5 years to get a divorce. They put myself and my little brother in the middle of the whole thing. Myself 16 year old male and my 13 year old brother lived with my parents. My mom had a daughter before she met my dad and he basically raised her as his own, she was about 26 when this happeend. Our family was destroyed and my father fell deep into depression. Everyone on both sides of my family basically disowned my mother. My dad never smoked cigaretts until this day happened, then he started smoking 2 packs a day and drank a case of beer a day. This continued on for about 12 years until he got cancer and past away 3 months later. Its been 5 years since hes past away. My relationship with my mom is still non existent at this pont in my life and has been ever since the day all of this unfolded. I have a hard time even talking to her to this day without crying/getting emotional. I love them both so much but it hurt to see them at each others throats and they talking so horrible about each other to myself and my little brother. So much pain and sadness that we have endured. My little brother is a beast, he channeled all of his anger and sadness into the Marine core and is turning into a unstoppable force at his career. I tried to set a good example even though i was going through the roughest part of my life thuss far for my brother and lead him into the right direction and fortunately i believe i have done that. Made me a stronger more independent person going through this situation but basically lost my whole family.

I had a similar thing happen, my ex was cheating on me, I knew and she still had the Gaul to try seduce me as she was pregnant with another guy's baby!!! , instead I asked her does she even know who's the father? To cut a long story short, my attorney said, "give her what's due to you, because she will drag it out in court endlessly and you will never be rid of her" Yes its tough starting over, but I feel so much better for taking that advice. Good riddance.

I agree with you that he went too far when it came to the kids. If they had genuinely found out by accident, that would be one thing, but he did it deliberately and just made everyone believe it was an accident. That's still him lying, and it involved innocent bystanders, his own children. They deserve to have a good relationship with their mother, even if the mother does not deserve to have a good relationship with them, if that makes sense. He was in the wrong with that part, the rest, the stuff just between him and his ex, i can't fault him for.

The wife was lying first when she cheated on him. And she told her kids they just needed some time off. She never mentioned herself to her kids that she was cheating on their dad and that she was mocking and by doing that disrespecting him. That is lying, and it came from the wove first. The husband just revealed the truth, and the kids deserve to know. He didn't go too far. If it was me, i would've showed the kids the messages and told them the truth that she was an unloyal bitch right away. They deserve to know why he is filing for divorce. Also he just did what most women do these days. The wive deserves her fate. I don't get why people are trying to defend her or her honor

The OP in the first story is NTA when it comes to the divorce. His wife cheated and it's only fair. I do think he's TA for letting it slip to the kids like he did. He told her if she signed the papers he wouldn't blast her to the kids and basically lied. Also if he really is having her come over for sex under the lie "we might get back together" is wrong. I get it, she hurt you. However, there's no need to keep dragging her around like that. Also, it shows that there must still be some kind of connection from OP. Either way actually consider getting back together or cut her loose.
