@sensumcommunem5 ай бұрын
Yeah I knew a cook who used to do this, and his trick was to slightly salt the water first (to lower the boiling point of the water a bit), and then he'd put a sieve into the boiling water and put the egg mixture in the water where the sieve was. He'd then leave it for 3-4 mins (obviously depending on the size/number of eggs), and when he was happy, he'd lift the sieve up, and leave it to drain for a few seconds over a bowl (or another empty pan). Using the sieve meant he got all of the egg out in one go, rather than trying to spoon or ladle it out. 👍

Learning to cook is very much a matter of practice, with some trial and error. Incidentally, egg producers can choose the colour of their egg yolks by what they feed the chickens with.

You need to stir the water to create a whirlpool before you tip the eggs in. I poach whole eggs like that quite often. I use a slotted spoon to coax each egg into shape,then strain in a sieve to get rid of the water. Knob of butter and salt on top. A wider saucepan will give more room to work in,and a really good boil going before you tip the eggs in.

Oh Gareth! Gareth, Gareth, Gareth. Sometimes you just make me laugh. There is experimental cooking, and then there Is this! 😂 Don't give up though. Try this one. Take 2 tins of John West boneless sardines in tomato sauce. Mash them up with a fork In a bowl. 1 Red onion (or brown) finely diced and put Into the bowl with the sardines. Then take about the same amount of mature cheddar (or a cheese of your choice) as the sardines and onion and grate. Add the cheese to the bowl and give it all a jolly good mix (use a fork not a mixer). Then take 4 slices of bread and toast them on one side only. When the toast is done, on the untoasted side spread on the mixture and put back under the grill and toast really well, and is piping hot. Take off the grill when done. Plate up and enjoy (mind you don't burn yourself).👌Keep the videos coming you are very entertaining.👍

Here's a simple one to try and it comes out nice... French toast. Get 1 egg, whisk like you're making scrambled eggs, put the liquid egg into something shallow like a casserole dish, get a piece of white bread and lay it down in the egg to soak it up, turn over, until the bread is really soggy and has absorbed all the egg, then put a bit of butter in a pan, melt it and put the bread slice in, cook until it starts burning and flip it over. Eat it with a bit of salt ground on. It's great. If done properly the bread is yellow to the center and it's like an omelette but you have a slice of bread intermingled with it. Very nice. 🙂This is a really simple one to do. With only egg it's a bit boring so maybe grate some extra mature cheddar on it and throw under the grill for 3 mins. Absolute heaven. That's nice enough but imagine adding things like bacon on top and you get the picture. Really amazing and really quick and easy. I might egg-sperimant myself by frying bacon first then throwing the soggy raw egged bread on top and seeing what happens, the bacon should mold to the wet bread. I'm starving now.

Poached egg hack......line a ramekin with clingfilm crack the egg into the ramekin with seasoning. Then, bring the corners of the clingfilm together & tighten it. Place in softly boiling water for 3-4 minutes. This way your egg keeps it's shape. 4 minutes if large eggs, but 4 if smaller

Perfect soft boiled eggs: Place 1/2 inch of water (Yes!, that's all you need, trust me) in the pan Turn the eggs in the carton so the fat end is up, with a corkboard pin pierce a hole in the fat end. When water boils add eggs gently, lid on, set a timer for EXACTLY 7 minutes, when timer is out place the pan under the cold tap for several minutes, done!. The jammiest egg yolks Forever 🤤 (also easy peeling) 😮

Bring about 2 inches of water to a boil. Turn off the heat. Pour in the eggs. Wait 30 seconds. Drain as much water as possible. Pour it all over lightly-oiled kitchen paper in a sieve. Serve. Thai chefs pour into a flavoured broth, and get it out with a slotted spoon.
