Hi Amie, I'm so sorry about your white Chanel! I have the same bag, and I thought I would share my experience in case it helps. The only fabrics I trust not to transfer are cashmere and silk. Jersey tends to be very heavily dyed. Cotton too. I wear longer cardigans to be a barrier if I'm wearing denim with this bag. I've worn it with a red wool/cashmere coat and a navy silk dress without issue. Wearing it on the shoulder helps also because crossbody makes it rub back and forth as you walk. Good luck! I really wouldn't stress too much!

I have a dior bracelet that I wear on the smaller setting similar to yours. I was also annoyed by the dangling bit. My solution was to hook both loops for both sizes on the clasp and then that shortens it up. Worth a try.

I have the Cartier bracelet, I found the dangle bit to be a bit annoying as well. I went to my local store and they removed the extra bit and added the logo onto the smaller loop. Your first adjustment should be free as well.

Hi Amie, I have the Cartier bracelet as and wear it on the smaller setting as well. The dangle doesn’t bother me (and usually I’m quite fussy), but I think you can take it to the boutique and they can adjust it to your liking.

Definitely take the Cartier bracelet back to Cartier to have them adjust the length and clasp. Other jewelers won't work on Cartier pieces because doing so would devalue the piece. Cartier will work with you to make you happy

Regarding the Cartier bracelet, can you hook the most distal hoop into the clasp as well? (Both hoops would be attached to the clasp). This will make the hanging piece a lot shorter.

I concur! I was going to say in addition to hooking to the shortest loop, hook that big loop that connects the Cartier pendant to the lobster claw. That should shorten it a lot. 👍

A good jeweler should be able to detach the extra chain length on your bracelet and replace the Cartier emblem on the remaining ring. They should also give you the extra chain back so you can keep it just in case. As far as the Dior shoes go, I always wear them with slim ankle length trousers. I think that silhouette works perfectly. I've tried them with skirts and skinny pants, but I don't like the way they look with them. Hope this helps!

I had the same issue with the Dior sling backs when I first got them! I’m also used to the classic one color pump. But once I experimented with an all black dress and simple black or silver clutch the shoes just took center stage. That’s the key, instead of the handbag make the shoes center stage. I LOVE them now that I’ve figured out how to wear them. ❤️

I have the dior sling backs in the nude colour and it works with jeans, dresses and black pants with flare. I initially wanted a black pair like yours but when I tried it on in store with jeans it stood out a lot more than expected which was why I chose the nude pair instead.

I saw a gorgeous off white mini very soon after I got my black mini rectangle, and it was SO pretty and I was very tempted but felt it was too soon to get another. I always wondered about that beautiful mini, but this makes me feel better as I am always in black or denim, or both. I know I’d be so sad if I ruined a bag that expensive with color transfer. I would definitely style the Dior sling backs with a more casual and not too feminine outfit. Straight or barrel fit jeans, or a pair of pleated wool trousers with a shirt or cashmere knit would be my go to.

Hi Amie. Although I don't have the Chloe in the weave material, I do own the Woody tote in canvas like yours and I absolutely love it! It was one of the best purchases I made last year. I like it for all of the reasons that you mentioned, and although I initially thought it would be more of a spring/summer bag for me, I have been surprised to see how much I have been wearing it in the fall and winter as well. I also wanted to thank you for recommending the YSL wristlet pouch. I finally got one this month in the pretty vintage white color and I love it! I cann't stop using it and I have recently ordered a converter kit from Samorga that will allow me to use it with a chain as well without hurting the leather plus I do like using inserts to protect my bags. Even though I also own the Uptown clutch, I find that the wristlet is more versatile because of it's shape and how much more roomy it is. I know that the wristlet is a little more pricey, but if I had to chose between both of them, I would definitely go for the wristlet because that one looks good as a clutch, shoulder bag or cross body. I find that it looks good with my everyday outfits as well as my evening outfits whereas the Uptown clutch, in my opinion, looks better as a clutch and it looks kind of awkward as a cross-body bag plus it fits only your most basic essentials. I'm still glad I own the Uptown, especially since I bought it a couple of years ago before they increased in price, but I just wish now that I would've gotten it in a different color since my wristlet is also cream white with gold hardware.

Hi Amie! About the mini Alexa, I always feel like that shade of brown has a blue undertone which brings up the heaviness when incorporating into looks imo, whereas the senreve chestnut color for example is a warmer camel that’s just so versatile. The subtlety sometimes! For myself I bought but unfortunately sent back the YSL beige Lou Lou bag within the return window. Mine came damaged with a lot of wrinkles on the leather of the flap. Seeing that really put me off from purchasing it the 2nd time, if the leather is that delicate no matter how careful I am with another perfect one down the road. Sad to cross this one off my list tho after lusting over it for a long time. Hopefully we see some fresher style new bags coming out in 2022! 😃

Amie, regarding the Cartier bracelet, if you can, use both settings, the smaller setting first then the bigger one if it fits. Hope that makes it better X I personally regret buying into Dior bags as the resell price is not good at all. Even Lady dior!

I have a similar cartier bracelet that the length is too long for me. I have taken it back to Cartier to have it shortened. It is complimentary. I believe Cartier would be able to take it off if you ask them to do so.

Amy, did you know the Chloe tote is made out of hand-woven WFTO-certified paper? Yes, it's made out of paper hence the lower price. A lot of people think it's made out of raffia but it's actually paper. This is why it's not hard wearing and falls apart fairly quickly.

Hi Amy! I have the same Cartier bracelet and also have small wrists. The SA showed me how to loop the second hole into the catch so that it doesn't dangle. It does require my husband to help me as it's quite difficult to do on my own, but it's a good fix!

I believe you can get the Cartier bracelet shortened for free at Cartier. I have the Cartier diamant legers necklace and got my necklace sent to France to get it lengthened with 3 cm. My SA told me I could get the necklace either shortened or lengthened with 3 cm without any fees. Anything beyond 3 cm I would have to pay for. I’m not sure where the limit is on the bracelet but I’d assume they would have the same service for the bracelet in the same line.

Oh no! I would definitely say it depends on how you wear it. I've never had any issues wearing mine on the shoulder but if it's a medium flap, then wearing it crossbody or against the hip definitely runs the risk when wearing certain clothes.

I got the same Chanel white bag as you. The quality is really not there. Without even using it, I noticed the chain discolors and made part of the leather strap neon yellow. The side seams also show leather tearing from stitching.

I was going to buy the same cartier bracelet, but unlike you I wanted it for the charm. I wanted that look with the charm hanging. When I tried the bracelet on (several times), I realized that while it is very pretty, the clasp is too heavy for such a dainty bracelet. I also have small wrist and would have to add another link to be able to wear it properly. Cartier can remover the extender chain and move the charm close to the clasp (closure), so the extender chain with the charm will not bother you.

So hear you about the Cartier bracelet. I suspect Cartier could fix it for you by removing the tail. But then you lose the lovely logo on the end. They could also probably take chain from each side of the pendant so that you could clasp the bracelet on the last ring. Hopefully they will be accommodating as it is such a beautiful and timeless piece. I ordered two bracelets from Monica Vinader and have to return them because the tails are 1.5"/2.5 cm long on me! Totally not functional. Shame as the pieces are lovely.

I Completely agree with annoying dangling jewellery. Personally I can't stand earrings or bracelets that dance and move around too much. You should definitely be able to get it adjusted at Cartier if not at a fine jeweller. Other suggestions would be to buy an extender chain to hook onto your bracelet and wear it as a necklace. I thought I was a bracelet person and bought a couple but ended up wearing them more as necklaced than i have ever worn them as bracelets.

Did you try using Meltonian leather cleaner on the Chanel classic? There was a TPF thread on this topic years ago and someone was able to remove significant denim transfer on a red classic using this cleaner/conditioner!

Amie, any jewler can remove the excess chain off of your Cartier bracelet. Cartier can do it too, but probably with a much greater price. I do have a Monica Vinader bracelet with a chain that is hanging. I love my bracelet, but the chain is so annoying.

Hi Amie, what about those white color handbags in your collection? Does it has color transfer too? I mean like YSL etc. Am thinking of getting a white handbag in YSL or other brand. For Chanel, i really dare not get white even though i love it so much. Haha i will be more freak out than you and maybe whole night can't sleep. I know is just a handbag but...lol that why i can only admire others having it from afar. For the Cartier bracelet, i do think Cartier can do that to remove the excess and use back the end of it for a shorter length. You should check with the Cartier near you or if not a jeweler. Yes, i had my video on my luxury best and so so purchase last year up :)

So technically, all white bags will experience the same colour transfer - it's just about how you wear them. I.e. I don't get any colour transfer on my Saint Laurent wristlet because it's a handheld style. There's simply no opportunity for it to rub up against fabric dye. A crossbody style is a different matter though so I'd say it's going to be a combination of the style of bag you want + colour + fabric type :)

Take the bag to Chanel, their experts will restore it for you. Had the black jersey dress been washed before you wore it? If not, that could be the problem. I’ve also had black items that just transferred dye when it came into contact with even the tiniest amount of sweat, even though they had been washed multiple times. I discarded them.

Sorry about your white bag but I think cotton, jerseys are easily transfer color because it is the easiest materials to pick up dye. Nylon or synthetic are less 😬. Hope you can take off all of the color transfer and wear your bag. It’s beautiful bag
