Hey trigger. I remember you saying that you got shot of the DV1 clear early on in the channel. I have been using my Porphis for most jobs lately. I have the split nozzle too. I increased the fluid and pressure a little and despite the great results I have had, this time, she taught me a lesion🤔😛. I normally set at just under 2.5 turns out at just under 2 bar. Turns out that fully open it goes to around 4 turns out so it is capable of pumping out some serious material. I found out the hard way by trying to speed the gun up. It ran spectacularly 🏃♂🤦♂. Great work on the channel. Im off to catch up with the channel. Oh did I see mech earlier? Maybe a spray jacket? Spray on brother 🤜🤛

Worst spray gun purchase would definitely be the DV1 clear for me, I bought one after getting the Base gun in the B1+ cap and i found the Base gun was faster AND better at clear than the clear caps. The opposite of it and the happiest purchase has been the ANi Skull for me, i bought a kit to play with at home, liked it enough to buy another full kit to use as a dedicated clear gun and the older one as a base gun, and a standalone Skull in the 1.2 that ive really liked for metallics. Honestly if my work contract didn't require me to use Satas id be using these Skulls. Gave my at home 5000 RP's to my brother who just started a paint tech course at the loval community college. Ive got 20 rebuild kits just in case they stop making them in a few years 💀

Remember they spray thinner clear coats over there. That's why the SATA jet CC clear coat gun is not available here in the US because our clear coat is so damn thick. They even tell you that on the website. So naturally if someone is spraying a thinner material the gun is going to move faster. Like I said in the video there's a lot of trickery out here and some of these guys really don't know the difference and they go out spending their hard-earned money because someone's doing a magic trick and their materials are completely different.

Rebuilt the gun with new seals and still same. Sprays base perfect just not clear. So I picked up a DV1 and its a really nice piece but have not been able to get my clear to go on flat and glassy, kinda sucks for what is costs. I always thought it was my inexperience that was causing it. Might be time to try another brand. Just really love the techna copper wish I could get it straight to spray clear again. Thanks for the video's, always learning new stuff and making the jobs easier each time.

You're more than welcome Kevin. That sucks 😕 expensive gun and not meeting your expectations. I think devilbiss guns are great it's just one bad apple
@nocandopdxАй бұрын
If you rebuilt the gun and something is still wrong then there's a good chance you have dried clear built up on the inner passages. Don't know how you clean your gun but if you got a little bit of thinned out clear coat into one of the holes that supply the air to the cap (not on the air cap itself, but inside the gun typically behind the nozzle, there are two or more holes) and if either one ever had some material backflow inside, especially clear coat, then that would be the culprit. One other thing you can also try is get yourself a 10x jewelers Lupe and inspect the tip of your nozzle, needle and air cap horns up close for deformations or dents/scratches. Definitely could be a source of turbulence. Also after you spray basecoat, look at the horns on the air cap and see if both sides have the same amount of paint dried around the holes. If one side is always ends up with more overspray, that would be a clue. Throwing new parts at the gun without knowing what's actually wrong with it and why you're replacing them serves no purpose. It's like fixing a car that's overheating by getting new brakes, new tires, new windshield wipers, etc. Pointless.

@@thetriggerman954 I tried the base cap for clear (not the b-plus cap) it does speed it up a bit. 2 holes apiece instead of 3. One full turn on the fan. It’s better but I don’t think the gun is capable of chugging clear😂 even 1.5 .. I tried 🤣 it’s a good gun for mirrors and motorcycle parts🤣

TRIGGERMAN iam so glad you showed me that I was going to get one later on think I be getting a Sata jet 1 3 CC or IWATA SERIES LS 400 1.3 DIGITAL 😊
@BryanMiranda962 ай бұрын
Are you in the UK? Because the CC is made to work with their clears, spray guns direct will sell you the CC but they recommend against it for the clear coats here and having used the CC nozzle set in my x5500's I would say they're right, it's mediocre for our systems
@thetriggerman9542 ай бұрын
Finally somebody knows what the hell they are talking about. I've been saying that for the longest but people think I'm crazy. My Sata rep told me the gun will not spray our materials that great over here. And if I purchase it it's against his recommendations.

Its a dang good gun, But Its SLOW, did i say S---L--O--------W! I used mine the other day, coming from the Sagola 4600, And hahaha, i was robot spraying and Lordy it was DRY spray from hell, (I was spraying white, so i was blind) and saw it and about died laughing... The DV1 reminds me of the HF Blackwidow 2.0 gun as in speed wise. Booth will give you a stellar finish, but speed it key in production (Which i am not in..) Im more of finish so doesn't matter, but i would rather have speed...but speed can bitecha! Kicking butt on the content sir, Next im in FL, ima come shoot with ya....PewPew

I just do not understand how the market got so flooded with guns, and so many of them are expensive as fk. It's not rocket science, it's a shaped block of metal with holes in it. I get paying more for a gun that transfers paint better, and maybe saves you money that way, but $800+ come on..

@@cliffjohnson5687 everyone I know personally that has the series 2 says it's just like the series one they supposedly fix some little tweak that I never even found wrong with my series 1 If you look around on KZbin people actually doing giveaways and giving their series 2 away even JR paints is selling his set of serious two guns because they are not what people thought they were going to be so I'd save your money there.
