I remember when the dailymail called MCR a suicide cult but in retrospect, there is so much positivity in their music. Compare this to the vapid glorification of Xanax, drugs and suicide in certain hip hop subgenres at the moment, and it's apparent. There was a period around 2006 - 2007 when MCR was one of the most hated bands in the mainstream, but really they were just victims of their own success. I think history is going to be much kinder to them than the present was, their music is truly iconic.

My Dad used to say, this was the song he thought of whenever he thought of My Chemical Romance. I thought it was weird and it's always felt off for years cuz the chorus didn't really relate to anything in his life... He passed away on 4/20 of this year and, I think now what he meant was for me to remember the chorus when he's passed... I’m a 70 year old female Brit who discovered MCR 10 years ago. I was randomly scrolling through KZbin and my life was enriched. Visually as the videos were marvellous, but my god that young guy’s vocals! His beautiful face too. The energy they put into performing was amazing, giving their all. Sadly the comeback did not materialise but perhaps just as well. I’ve lived long enough to have had many cherished memories tarnished. I still have that superlative album. It was a concept album and the entire album talked about death but the last song is Famous Last Words because they wanted everyone's take away to be that last line. While you might think about suicide you gotta keep on living and to not be afraid to walk this world alone. People thought they were glorifying death but really, for the people with depression they were able to put into words what they were feeling. At the end of the day it's an anti-suicide album. To get those suicidal thoughts released in a positive way and to keep going, keep fighting.

Honestly, to me, at least, The Black Parade has to be one of the most flawless albums ever made. Every song is a banger, no skippable tracks. A rare thing. As good now as the day it dropped.

It’s one of the few albums I regularly go back to. It’s a great listen from start to finish, the vocals and melodies are amazing and catchy, guitars are heavy and memorable. I’m into a lot of genres but The Black Parade is just perfect.

I love MCR, always have. But in my opinion it was good they pulled the plug when they did, better to quit when you're on top than to see you becoming an old washed up rockstar with music that stays in the shadows of your younger self.
