As always very well done😁 In my opinion you can get a lot done with compact tractor just might take a little longer😂When I was young I could do a lot with a shovel and wheel barrow just took a little longer 😂 Thanks for the great video Ed😁👍🚜💨☀️

Great advice. We purchased our Kubota B2601 in 2020 after doing some research and watching many many youtube videos. As a result we are very happy with it. It suits our property and our needs.

Great video Ed.. All good advice for someone considering buying a tractor. I looked for a used tractor for a couple of years before I found the right deal. As a matter of fact the deal seemed too good to be true and you know what they say about that. But in the end I bought a tractor with 5 hours on the meter for about half the price of a new one. I don't know how I lived without it.. lol

It was good to see the snow. Great information and advice. A loader quick attach is a game changer. Our land gets very wet in the winter and a good way to make a huge mess is to buy a big tractor which is one of the reasons why we have smaller machines

As someone who owned a skid steer for many years, I found myself lost trying to figure out compact tractors. The first thing I did was check out my local dealers. I would be taking care of 90% of any issues that come up, but if it's something I can't, I'd like to know there's a place it can go. Around here, the not so well known brands don't have service departments for some reason. The Kubota dealer I was impressed with, but they were a bit out of my range. I searched online, and found a used L3560 LE with cab and LA805 loader. I still wasn't sure if it was the right size I wanted, but it was well maintained by a older gentleman, and it seemed like a fair price, so I got it. I guess seeing that nice big cab with heat and ac might have swayed me, lol.

Good job, I think you hit all the points. I bought a used 2022 Kubota MX5400 with 22 hours on it for $10K less than the dealer quote for the exact same tractor. The deals are out there. I then bought a couple attachments from the local Kubota dealer to build that relationship. It's a big decision and it took me over two years to pull the trigger and step up from my 1954 Farmall 100. I still drive the Farmall from time to time as a reminder of my youth.

The Farmall is definitely a nostalgic piece. Bit modern tractors sure are nice. Good deal!

Hello there Ed!! These are all great tips for purchasing a tractor. One thing I would add too is, a tractor is a long term investment. You'll have , or could have, the tractor for many many years, so make sure you are well aware, but using all the tips you pointed out here, of what tractor you want and need because it'll be in the barn for a long time!! LOL Take care!!

Be sure to have the PTO sleeve chained somewhere so it isn't spinning (like yours at the 3:18 mark of video) -- very dangerous. Regarding backhoe, as you point out they are very expensive (~10k) and non-trivial to add later since you need to add a subframe to the tractor to support it. I love mine, but rarely used it because it was so difficult to get on an off (BH77 on a B2650). The solution I ended up with was buying a second tractor (a B2601 like yours), so I can use it for the 3-point implements and keep the backhoe on the B2650. I now understand why all the farmers around me have multiple tractors -- it is great not to be switching implements and attachments all the time.
@MyClutteredGarage9 ай бұрын
You make some great points. I too have thought about buying an older (affordable?) stand alone backhoe.

The 2 biggest things that helped me in making my decision were tons of time doing research online and spending a lot of time talking with my dealer. I had tons of questions. I am so glad that I spent that time in learning everything I could. In the end, Kubota won out over the other brands. Not because it was the best but it was the best choice for me. My dealer was a huge help and spent a lot of time with me.
