Are superfoods really super?
Superfoods have gained a lot of attention in recent years due to their potential health benefits. These are considered nutrient-rich foods with the ability to promote overall well-being and health. But what exactly are they?
No single food has the power to make or break our health, and it is important that we obtain a range of different nutrients from a range of different food sources to support our health. There is no definition or criteria for superfoods, but they are typically rich in a variety of nutrients which may include antioxidants, phytonutrients and essential nutrients, which are the ones we cannot make within our body and must obtain from food sources, like omega-3 fatty acids.
